  • In this video, I show how I start my giant pumpkin seeds. I also show which seeds I am starting this year. There are many ways in which growers start their seeds. This is just the way I do it and have had plenty of success in the past doing it this way.
For those not familiar with the naming on the giant pumpkin seed packets, here is a brief explanation. It is the weight of the pumpkin the seed came out of, followed by the last name of the grower. Sometimes it will also include the year the pumpkin was grown. For example, "1931 Turner 2023" is what the seeds are named that came out of my 1,931 pound pumpkin I grew in 2023.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Ok. I was thinking he lost a different one on that plant earlier and this made it to the end. I know this one wasn’t pollinated until July 21st.

@@theturnerranchwi the Birdman came over with a scale very accurate scale and we weighed it at my house 1,005 pounds. the earlier Pumpkin that split was never Weighed The seeds were not viable in that pumpkin. You are correct. This was the second pumpkin pollinated and July 21 is 1005 pounds, 70 days old was not cared for very much at all
