Beautiful rendition!
I was a young piano player in high school when this first came out. I remember playing the intro the same way your piano player plays it. I thought that it was the only way to play it, but all the other youtube recordings including some of Barbara's doesn't seem to have it. Thanks so much!

AS, your name reminds me of (a story of ) Mark Spitz of an US Olympic swimming team years ago.
He allegedly was not doing too well in (Reform ?) Beit Sofer Ivrit
So the Rav went to see his father they say to complain
Father explains he needs to take time off for Swimming lessons and that tires him out too.
(Inside running - Spitz was no Einstein)
So the Rav bitches about this and the father says,
"Don't worry Rebbe - Gott loves a Winner ! " (and M. Spitz did get some gold medals).
