    Great vid , some people say you only need rear diff lock , I tend to disagree , I would like to here your thoughts on twin locks thanks mate

    • @4wdAdventure
      @4wdAdventure  7 лет назад +1

      Kerry Vincent the white 76 in the video has no lockers and tackles everything the same unless you lift a wheel or get really bogged down where the one or even two lockers come into their element. In 90% of cases the rear locker is all you need. This 79 came with twin lockers from factory. I guess it really depends on what type of 4wding you do and if you're struggling for traction when you're out and about.

    Beauty 79 Series there, have you got diff lockers installed? Wish they sold these in Fiji we just get the Straight 6 Model and no V8.

    • @4wdAdventure
      @4wdAdventure  8 лет назад +2

      noworriesimfijian yes mate. The video is called 'twin locked' has factory Toyota diff locks in the front and the back. Yeah we only have the V8s here in Australia!

    Just by looking at lots of 76 & 79 vids, they're so much better looking and perform better than the 200 Series.

      I agree. They sound awesome and look tank

    • @kevinsmith7669
      @kevinsmith7669 8 лет назад +6

      they perform better because the 70 series are solid axles not independent suspension

      Mosty driver most 200 serise buyers don't no how to drive but I've seen them rip around tracks just as well

    Looks like a fun day out at break-em farm :) any idea where the tapered under tray toolboxes are from? My tray is getting made at dekkers at the moment but their toolboxes are nowhere near as tapered. Cheers

      Hey mate. Cheers for the message. Sorry about the late reply! It was built at the same time as the tray in Victoria, but the fabricators have closed their shop down now, sorry bud!

    hi mate on the cruiser how did you get the turbo to fluffer like that ?

    • @4wdAdventure
      @4wdAdventure  6 лет назад

      Sam Fisher Hey mate, it just started happening when the bigger snorkel was put on, dunno if it echoes through the pipe or what.. but it’s definitely noticeable, especially at lower revs

  • @hartzland7658
    @hartzland7658 6 лет назад +1

    There was a perfectly good track right next to the shit one! , I dont get it? Rather not put my 79 through that but each to their own lol Nice truck by the way.

    • @4wdAdventure
      @4wdAdventure  6 лет назад +2

      79 Series V8 haha that it mate! We spend all this money on our trucks, doing them up to be fully capable offroad vehicles, this is the difference between someone who actually uses their Landcruiser for what they’ve built it for vs. Someone who builds an expensive offroad rig and never leaves the bitumen 💁🏻‍♂️

  • @hartzland7658
    @hartzland7658 6 лет назад +1

    Yeah I get it! but I just can't bring myself to put mine through that kind of punishment! My truck is the last one I ever want to spend that kind of money on! so i want her to see me out & beyond! All she will see is dirt roads & winching the odd stump out of the paddock & maybe pulling the odd Nissan out too lol sorry boys, had to say it lol,
    but mate that is one tough arse truck you got there.

    • @4wdAdventure
      @4wdAdventure  6 лет назад

      79 Series V8 totally, and it definitely does take its toll on the cruisers that’s for sure, they’re a great looking, tough and very capable 4wd and even when pushed through the tough tracks will still last forever! As long as you’re enjoying it that’s all that matters!

      if you dont use anything,vehicle,ect,itll last,why spend 100k & not use it.,better off with a hyundi,or something,.then spend money on travel,.nothing good about toyotas v8 tdi,.its under powered,expensive,has 2 different width diffs cos toyota are slack.old rear,new front.,uuuggg,.i have a 6cyl tdi,no comp,no common rail,no glow plugs,.just a diesel,4.2,puts out same as single turbo v8 toyota,thats how backwards they are.&,,it gets 11 lt 100,.weighs 4t.!!.german tech,not jap rubbish.
