This takes me straight back to my freshman year in high school. This song was everywhere! I saw REO Speedwagon and STYX together in concert and it was an incredible show! I'll always love this group! Thanks guys!
Another Shit Ballad that ruined the band, Try listening to the band 15 years earlier! You probably won't like it because you obviously love the sappy shit!
The line “you played dead but you never bled, instead you lay still in the grass all coiled up and hissing” is so great to me, really great songwriting
Keep pushin, Dont let him go, That ain't love, I dont want to lose you, In my dreams, Riding the storm out, Keep the fire burning, Roll with changes,............... holy crap they have some killer songs!!
WOW! Great song. REO had some great songs through the 80's and Kevin Cronin's voice is quite unique. Great choice. Take It On The Run, Can't Figh This Feeling , Time For Me To Fly and In My Dreams are wonderful songs just to name a few!
This song had so many hits off of it and it was so popular. They also had some really good stuff from earlier, like Riding the Storm Out and 157 Riverside Avenue and Gary richrath is always so much fun to watch on the guitar. Another very interesting one buy them is the live audio version Golden Country, which is a bit on the political side but it was extremely popular at the time. You really get to hear everybody just kind of go off and work the audience and hear the audience respond and it's pretty cool.
I have tickets to see these guys in June. They are touring with Loverboy and Styx. This will be the 4th time seeing REO Speedwagon and they still sound great and are awesome live. They will rock to the day they drop and I’ll keep going to concerts till I drop😎 I started going to concerts when I was 16 and I just turned 60 on Sunday I’ve probably been to 300+ concerts over the years. I love life performances. 🤘😎
Thanks for this reaction; it was like going back to my H.S. homecoming dance or prom! REO Speedwagon had so many hits in the late 70's - early 80's, and Time For Me To Fly was voted to be my senior class (of '82) song!
REO omg love them! Saw them 6 times in Concert! Just recently 3 yrs ago. Gary Richrath RIP was one of my favorite guitar players . This another band to get lost in their music 😎
Gary was one of my first major influences for blazing electric guitar lead. Everytime I try to do a solo it comes out sounding like a simplified REO solo. RIP
REO Speedwagon was formed in 1967 but had their biggest hits in the 80's such as "Keep On Loving You", "Can't Fight This Feeling", "In Your Letter", "Don't Let Him Go", "Keep The Fire Burnin'", "Sweet Time", "I Do' Wanna Know", "One Lonely Night", "Live Every Moment", "In My Dreams" etc.
Y'all cracked me up on this one 🤣 this was that song that would have you in your feelings about your middle school crush. Didn't know nothing about nothing except that hook 🤣
As a Gen xer..liked this song even as a child..It's amazing how your perspective changes about a song as you grow older..The wife here...You two are always ON POINT..!!
You guys are from a different generation. This song is classic 70s music. The 70s had some awesome songs. And a different life style. Classic rock is where its all about. I still listen to it. I still listen to the very same rock radio station that i heard when i was 14 . And i still listen to the very same station 50 years later. And they still play all the classic rock i heard back then
I remember that movie back in the day with that kid broken hearted at the end driving his car after his girl cheated on him and I think the song that was playing was a Journey song if I remember right.
This band puts on fantastic live shows. I saw them twice in the 1980s with the lineup in the video, and three other times since. I highly recommend doing a reaction vid to one of their live performances of "Ridin' the Storm Out".
Other great REO songs worth checking out: 1) Roll With The Changes 2) Time For Me to Fly 3) Ridin' The Storm Out 4) Only The Strong Survive 5) Live Every Moment 6) Blazin' Your Own Trail Again 7) Do You Know Where Your Woman Is Tonight?
Very few people notice when he calls the girl a snake. He says "You laid still in the grass, all coiled-up and hissing", and then comes a sound representing a rattlesnake.
REO was the first concert I ever attended.....in a Jr. college gym. You should really listen to their older stuff, it has a more rock sound. I would suggest Golden Country -a live version - or 157 Riverside Ave. Golden Country is about sociatal problems and is applicable to today's time.
The song first appeared on REO Speedwagon's 1980 album Hi Infidelity. It was the first REO Speedwagon single to break the top 50 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, reaching the number-one spot for one week in March 1981. The single was certified platinum for U.S. sales of over one million copies.
Ok, y'all didn't have to go here with this band😆 man I wore this REO Speedwagon cassette tape out. I played this cassette everytime I had to clean my room as a teenager😁✌️
Soft rock…. It had its 80s place. BJ making a whole damn movie outta the crazy dude on the couch. Without the video you would have never pictured any of it!
Just checking the comments to see if anybody mentioned that you have a picture of the wrong band in the thumbnail, that's STYX, another great rock band !
There are a number of factors that can't be ignored when it comes to love. Faith, hope, belief and care to top it off. One in a lifetime will touch your heart and soul in a way that the bounds of patience, understanding and acceptance without judgement are stretched like never before. Personal commitment, dedication and devotion make up the other part of this equation. All of these factors intertwined within each other bring out the power and inner strength of love. Imbalance between two people with one person carrying all these different factors within the virtue of their love is what created the sayings "Love is blind" and "Love is a double edged sword." To completely understand these notions, you would have to had to experience a deep, true love for somebody. Most people go through their whole life never to experience a love of that level. It changes your whole perception towards life and our existence in this world.
Poco crazy love is a gorgeous love song Sheriff when I’m with you…longest note at end of song in the Guinness book of records Sara barellas gravity. Another gorgeous song so So much wonderful music that you get to experience for first time. Songs that are from are memories and moments from our past.. so thank you. I am jealous experiencing this with new ears.
Don’t take the video so seriously. The song is about the power of love. He’ll love her no matter what. His love will win her over and cover and heal her past. The song was out when I was a junior in college. This brings back great memories of the camaraderie in college. I remember even the guys loving the song and singing along to it.
Asia and BJ. Could your next play by REO SW be …can’t fight this feeling anymore. Please. That was my senior year of high school and it was a mega mega mega hit. It played at the prom and when I flew out to Texas to go to basic training at Lackland it was all over the radio out there as well. I swear that song must’ve played for six months nonstop. You will know it as soon as you hit it. The lead vocalist is an amazing guitar player in his own right, fantastic piano player and singer songwriter.
Good song! Other hits: Take It On The Run, Time For Me To Fly, Can't Fight This Feeling, Roll With The Changes, In My Dreams, Ridin The Storm Out, Don't Let Him Go. You might want to check out The Hooters--All You Zombies.
From REO Speedwagon: Ridin The Storm Out (live), Keep Pushin, Golden Country, That Ain't Love, Roll With The Changes, Time For Me To Fly, Take It On The Run, I Can't Fight This Feeling
So Asia, if you were irritated by Kevin Cronin staying with this woman, your next REO Speedwagon song should be "Time for Me to Fly" which is kind of the opposite sentiment. This song (and most of this album) got a whole crap load of air time my freshman year in college. There is one song on this album that I still love which didn't receive much airtime called "Wish You Were There." Beautiful ballad in either 3/4 or 6/8 time. I love earlier REO Speedwagon also, like the politically charged "Golden Country" and "Being Kind Can Hurt Someone Sometimes" from 1972's "R.E.O T.W.O." Some interesting trivia for you. The name REO Speedwagon was he name of a light truck from the early 1900s produced by the REO company, so named for its founder Ransom Eli Olds, who also founded the "Oldsmobile" company which was the oldest car company in America until it was shut down in 2004.
You guys make me laugh. Two of my favorite RUclips people. You leave that lead singer alone Asia. Asia be like "I didnt say anything..." hahah you guys gave me a good laugh on this one.
This takes me straight back to my freshman year in high school. This song was everywhere! I saw REO Speedwagon and STYX together in concert and it was an incredible show! I'll always love this group! Thanks guys!
They still both play from time time, not all original members, though
lmao Ya it doesnt get anymore 80s than that
My favorite "twofer" concert I ever went to was a "Black And Blue Sunday".... Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult back to back. It was amazing
I saw them with Styx and .38 Special in Vegas.
Another of my high school favorites. My fav is Riding the Storm out.
Awesome song!!
Another Shit Ballad that ruined the band, Try listening to the band 15 years earlier! You probably won't like it because you obviously love the sappy shit!
That's good.
The line “you played dead but you never bled, instead you lay still in the grass all coiled up and hissing” is so great to me, really great songwriting
It makes me think of my girl. My fav line 💙😅
My favorite
And...the Rattlesnake sound ending the verse!
REO Speedwagons lyrics are like poetry!!
one of the best live bands there was. and they are still out there.
Geez, classic high school music. This and "Take It On The Run" are REO staples.
Big hit back in the day...I love it still!! I remember roller skating to this so well!
United Skates of America was at the rink every Friday and sat night..lol
Keep pushin, Dont let him go, That ain't love, I dont want to lose you, In my dreams, Riding the storm out, Keep the fire burning, Roll with changes,............... holy crap they have some killer songs!!
Don't Let Him Go ROCKS!!!
WOW! Great song. REO had some great songs through the 80's and Kevin Cronin's voice is quite unique. Great choice. Take It On The Run, Can't Figh This Feeling , Time For Me To Fly and In My Dreams are wonderful songs just to name a few!
their album "Hi Infidelity" is a must have for any music collection.
I agree. I loved that album when I was a kid. I played it all the time.
My favorite and I have it and I still listen to it in my car
My first copy was a pirated 8 track bought at a flea market in the north GA mountains.
I agree. This album and Styx Grand Illusion.
One of my favorite albums! Not a bad track on the disk!❤️🤘🏻
great band and fab reaction, you should def do more of them x
I'm so glad you finally tapped into 4EO. They have so many amazing hits. One of my favorite 80's bands.
This song had so many hits off of it and it was so popular. They also had some really good stuff from earlier, like Riding the Storm Out and 157 Riverside Avenue and Gary richrath is always so much fun to watch on the guitar. Damn I wasn't even born yet lmaoooo... born in 83 😂

REO omg love them! Saw them 6 times in Concert! Just recently 3 yrs ago. Gary Richrath RIP was one of my favorite guitar players . This another band to get lost in their music 😎
Such a great love ballad when this hit...absolutely love it! REO has so many great songs!
Take It On The Run is my favorite of theirs. So many past memories hearing this..
Gary was one of my first major influences for blazing electric guitar lead. Everytime I try to do a solo it comes out sounding like a simplified REO solo. RIP
One of my favorite groups since the 70`s...A lot of great songs...Thanks for reacting to them.
A big hit together with "Can´t fight this feeling" back in the 80s
My favorite by them is Take It On The Run.So many classic iconic songs.
Asia, doesn't your face ever hurt from all that smiling you do? You are ALWAYS smiling, and nothing beats that!
I love their hit " Take it on the run"...that one is a bit of a rocker with crunchier guitars symbolizing his vitriol.
Loved them in the 80's, seen them live in the late 90's and they were still amazing. Love this band. Thanks for the reaction.
Y'all cracked me up on this one 🤣 this was that song that would have you in your feelings about your middle school crush. Didn't know nothing about nothing except that hook 🤣
Damn bro! Listening to this literally just took me back to my middle school years and my first love.😂
Hit me right in the feels so it did.😪😂
REO Speedwagon is amazing! Love your reaction!
I was in high school when this came out. Brings back memories. Thank you guys...
As a Gen xer..liked this song even as a child..It's amazing how your perspective changes about a song as you grow older..The wife here...You two are always ON POINT..!!
I feel fortunate to have seen them LIVE in Orlando, around 22 years ago, and OMG they were incredible !
Cried MANY teenage tears to REO & this song!!😂🥰
'Take it on the run' great tune, you can thank me later...😉
You guys are from a different generation. This song is classic 70s music. The 70s had some awesome songs. And a different life style. Classic rock is where its all about. I still listen to it. I still listen to the very same rock radio station that i heard when i was 14 . And i still listen to the very same station 50 years later. And they still play all the classic rock i heard back then
I've been married for 37 years to the love of my life and you two are adorable. True love here
So ,so glad you doing REO
They were the kings of the power ballad
Gotta watch “The Last American Virgin”…this song and ALL the songs in that movie tie in so well to the film!
Love your reactions!

6) Blazin' Your Own Trail Again
7) Do You Know Where Your Woman Is Tonight?
“Gary Richrath” was a monster on the guitar!! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Very few people notice when he calls the girl a snake. He says "You laid still in the grass, all coiled-up and hissing", and then comes a sound representing a rattlesnake.
Sanford & Townsend Band, Smoke From A Distant Fire also a great vocal song
REO was one of my very favorite groups in my teens and early 20’s🎉
“ you played dead, but you never bled, instead you laid still in the grass all coiled up and hissing “ such an awesome lyric!
REO was the first concert I ever attended.....in a Jr. college gym. You should really listen to their older stuff, it has a more rock sound. I would suggest Golden Country -a live version - or 157 Riverside Ave. Golden Country is about sociatal problems and is applicable to today's time.
Members of REO live in the same county I do and I got to see them about 3 years ago. I had to admit, I had forgotten how much these guys rock!
Hi Infidelity is an icon album by REO. Don't Let Him Go is my favorite song on it. Take It On The Run is another good one.
"When I said that I love you I meant I would love you forever!" True unconditional love❤
If you really want to know how good Gary Richraft was try flying turkey trot live REO Speed wagon guitar solo and golden country live
REO is great. Time for me to Fly and Roll with the Changes are straight up BANGERS
Ok, y'all didn't have to go here with this band😆 man I wore this REO Speedwagon cassette tape out. I played this cassette everytime I had to clean my room as a teenager😁✌️

You have to listen to every track on the album to get the story. It was one of highest selling albums of all time.
One of my favorites 😍

I still have the Hi Infidelity album on vinyl. I love that album and I love this song.
The chorus is freaking awesome!
❤I really like their songs, but my favorite is I can’t stop this feeling.
Love me some Gary Richrath, on guitar.
Woohoo this a jam 😀😀😀♥️♥️♥️
BJ kills me when he starts explaining the song and digs a hole to promptly drop himself into😂😂
I always liked this song, it was a great one, it’s funny I never seen the video
The snake song: "instead you laid still in the grass, all coiled up and hissing".
As usual I agree with BJ , a great song and sentiment
Don’t take the video so seriously.
The song is about the power of love. He’ll love her no matter what. His love will win her over and cover and heal her past.
The song was out when I was a junior in college. This brings back great memories of the camaraderie in college. I remember even the guys loving the song and singing along to it.

You GOTTA hit up their song Roll With The Changes. An utter classic rock jam throw down.
So Asia, if you were irritated by Kevin Cronin staying with this woman, your next REO Speedwagon song should be "Time for Me to Fly" which is kind of the opposite sentiment.
