    Its crazy to see the difference in driving styles between indoor and outdoor karting.

    • @RobertoSotoA
      @RobertoSotoA  Год назад +1

      Yes! I find myself needing to actually use the entire track outdoors as opposed to indoor karting where you try to make the line as tight as posible.

    • @IAmAnonymyz
      @IAmAnonymyz 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@RobertoSotoAdepends on the track to be honest. Too tight and your working the Kart versus letting the kart work for you. Track design plays a huge part too on if the track is setup for a "fun" track or "competitive" track for indoor. There's a few K1 tracks that have a track inspired feel where the corners are actually corners vs straight barrier that gives you no "apex" line. I'm fortunate enough to work at a K1 where the track design actually has a "racetrack" inspired design with varying tightness of corners and actual apex lines

    • @IAmAnonymyz
      @IAmAnonymyz 11 месяцев назад +1

      This track however looks like a very fun and well designed track ... once it opens I'm definitely gonna check it out. Those E-Racing Karts look very fun

    • @RobertoSotoA
      @RobertoSotoA  11 месяцев назад

      @IAmAnonymyz Completely agree. A lot of K1 tracks have a bunch of "fake" corners that, if you think about it, make no sense. To me, Irvine and Anaheim K1 tracks have a more competitive feel to them. Maybe it's just me 🫠

    • @RobertoSotoA
      @RobertoSotoA  11 месяцев назад

      @IAmAnonymyz It is. Hopefully they add barriers around some corners cause that straight away before the S turns will definitely send a good amount of people over that cliff next to it 🥲🥲🥲🥲

    It’s awesome to see no bumping guess the extra speed demands respect ✊

    • @RobertoSotoA
      @RobertoSotoA  10 месяцев назад +1

      The rules are pretty strict since these are legit competition E-Karts. You’ll get fined if they catch you being reckless/damaging the karts.

    • @chasemer6
      @chasemer6 7 месяцев назад +2

      I would say arrive and drive K1 Speed indoor locations pulls in a lot of ‘normies’. Outdoor locations tend to only attract enthusiasts, and enthusiasts tend to have more respect of karting.

    • @RobertoSotoA
      @RobertoSotoA  7 месяцев назад

      @@chasemer6 True but at the same time all of these karters qualified through the K1 Speed pipeline. Also, we’re super spread apart and these tracks are massive compared to K1 indoor locations.

      @@RobertoSotoAdo you prefer indoor or outdoor karting? Keeping in mind the price differential, that is.

    • @RobertoSotoA
      @RobertoSotoA  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@dipdip7250 Me personally, I’ve only ran in rental karting, even on my outdoor videos it’s still rentals. If you compare it to owning your own kart, rentals are always cheaper unless you plan on competing. I prefer outdoor karting but I only have access to indoor karting (K1 Speed).

    • @RobertoSotoA
      @RobertoSotoA  Год назад

      We're doing 60+ mph on the straights. Depends on how soon you get on the gas and how much corner speed you keep. It's a very fun track indeed 👌👍

    Would you say minimum speed is just as important in the normal indoor rentals or do you think the more powerful motor compensates for that and I can play around with my driving style more?

    • @RobertoSotoA
      @RobertoSotoA  8 месяцев назад +2

      I think on these outdoor tracks you have more room to play around with your technique. Ultimately there’s always gonna be a more optimal way of going around the corners. Indoors there’s an optimal line and straying away from it will always slow you down.

    Are the karts as understeery as they look in the video

    • @RobertoSotoA
      @RobertoSotoA  Год назад +1

      The track is very "green" so it's still fresh. Rubber hasn't been put on the racing line still since we were the first group of racers on track, so grip isn't there much. Also, in my opinion, the track gets dust easily, so grip comes and goes sometimes.
