With so much deeper meaning behind it's already deep, rich narrative. And look at all the hard work put into it. The phenomenal performances from the actors, both with mocap and voiceover work. The incredible direction and world built by Kojima. The amazing soundtrack. Everything about this game is insane. And think. This was only in production for, what, 3 years I think? michael lynch by what criteria are you comparing the gameplay of those games? They are fundamentally different, so you can’t say "popular game 1 better than popular game 2, because better". @@Exialyser naw. Nolan needs to stay away from Kojima. Nolan's mind itself is so freaking out of this world. Between the both of them, Nolan's work has impressed me more than Kojima's. Kojima still has a lot to prove as a director/video game creator. Death Stranding fell short of expectation.
Death Stranding, I truly believe this one of the greatest video games stories ever told. Ever fucking told. We all have played some great video games in our time, but Death Stranding, there’s no video game out there like it. There’s not a single story even similar to it. i finally got to play this an finished it the other day. Absolute masterpiece. This is such a unique story and all they actors did amazing too! The world is so vast an beautiful. Learning about the world was so much fun.
About 5 hours into this game and I haven’t played anything like it and I don’t think I ever will again. For me I’m absolutely hooked.
Alnbon 29 wait until you’re 50 hours in and refuse to progress the story because you’re too busy progressing the world he’s built.
Kirk Son I’m only around the middle in chapter 8 and already 110 in game. Also I’m not rushing because there’s no decent games to play at all, and Last Of Us 2 will be after 5 monts. So I’m going deep in DS.
@@EduardSLVRU Have you played A Plague Tale?
Wait for the chapter 3/5
The chapters 1-2-3 are all tutorial, more forward the real game will open.
Even i was bored at the beginning, but then i really enjoy this fantastic game.
Trust me, all the people that play this game think like me: wait for chapter 3/5.
NEVER JUDGE A GAME FOR THE FIRST HOURS, BUT AT THE END.
Only two worlds: Amazing Story.
I don't say more, no spoiler.
Ps. Sorry for the grammar, i am not english
michael lynch by what criteria are you comparing the gameplay of those games? They are fundamentally different, so you can’t say "popular game 1 better than popular game 2, because better". It’s like saying that Dota Underlords gameplay is better than Mortal Kombat.
If you would have said story wise, then I could definitely agree, but just this comment is sheer absurdity
This is not just a game, it's a frickin movie.
We cant call it a video game, its a 20 hours long fucking movie
@@unintrov3184 9 hours.
It's a 60 hour season of a show, haha did the episodes not give that away?
and a bad movie too. xd
Felt like I was near the end so I played at 11pm. Boy I was wrong - I was still watching the ending "cutscene" at 1am lol
Norman himself looks like a character that hasn’t rendered yet 😂
One of the best game i've ever played. i'll remember for a very long time.
I never thought death stranding would be this good.
And I'm still playing it right now
1:27 Τhe best scene of the game! Congratulations to Tommie Earl Jenkins!
madwalker1 Motion captured scene... the best scene award should go to when you are disposing a corpse and it necros which makes a giant BT appear
Kojima looks like a fun guy to work for he should just start making movies.
kojima + christopher nolan + hans zimmer = Absolutely Ultimate Epic experiences movies
@@Exialyser In fact, Kojima has said he would make movies soon.
Luis Andres Alfaro Rojas I will watch every movie he makes.
Hes going to make movies soon
@@Exialyser naw. Nolan needs to stay away from Kojima. Nolan's mind itself is so freaking out of this world. Between the both of them, Nolan's work has impressed me more than Kojima's. Kojima still has a lot to prove as a director/video game creator. Death Stranding fell short of expectation.
Wow this making of of only Kojima his team and some boxes as props is reaaally behind the scenes
😂
You should check out the DMC5 pre production cutscenes. They make little cardboard cars and throw around action figures.
I'll say, & steph joostens not even there to provide in the looks department!
Death Stranding, I truly believe this one of the greatest video games stories ever told. Ever fucking told. We all have played some great video games in our time, but Death Stranding, there’s no video game out there like it. There’s not a single story even similar to it. Kojima is a beautiful game developer. He even said: “I wanna create a game and cast all my friends and tell a story that nobody has heard before.” And he did exactly that. Most Bridges staff members from the game, the holograms, they are Kojima friends in real life. I’m so excited for the sequel. DS2.
This is truly a sight to behold. I fricking love seeing all the gloss and glamour of the finished product stripped away, and seeing it being devised in it's most humble beginnings. Thank you for uploading this, I'll cherish this for ever! X
Almost 86 hours in the game, and i'm still in episode 3. Making roads and i want 5 stars with every prepper.
86 hours?!!!
make sure to do it in the highest difficulty to unlock the additional trophy. I did in normal mode only to find out I had another trophy to unlock lol. Anyway, I was up for the challenge! MOAR DELIVERIES!
120 hours, built all the roads and reached chapter 8, still have to 5 satr preppers and find those hidden preppers, PS fuck Peter Englert and his pizza xD
@@yogeshkandare3214 his pizza.... God by the time I got to that last pizza I wanted to scream. It’s only because I set up a zip line system that took me all around the mountains that it was bearable.
@@yogeshkandare3214 have you found out yet? :D
crazy ass part is , most of the script and scenes were all in his head he said .
Who said it?
Death stranding, yet so simple, yet so detailed, yet so complete.
A masterpiece!
Thank you Hideo Kojima and all the team!
+1 This one's for you
One thing for me it was never simple. Nor the gameplay nor the story:)
俳優さんて凄いんだな…
こんな環境で気持ち入り込めるなんて…
when i first saw Die hardman's scene i could swear that it felt like a scene from real world not virtual, great capture
6:00 Kojima shuffling down the hallway, clutching a box and making airplane noises
2:42 mads is stunning that Hannibal look is the best
I can imagine Hideo’s relief for not having to do another metal gear game.
You mean relief as in he's finally free to do new stuff?
@@molin1310 yes.
unlikely, he left konami because they wouldnt let him do more work on mg since they wanted to release it immediately and didnt want there to be anymore games lmao. he planned for there to be much more content and several more games.
@@verminscum yup
The motion capture in this game is beyond incredible.
The whole crew of actors were incredible, now I'l love to see a Kojima movie with Mikkelsen!!!
A Del Toro AND Kojima movie with Mickkelson in it.
@@opulentzinger I don't dare my fantasy to goo this far :D !!! lol
All the people saying "walking simulator" have A: not played the game at all, or B: stopped before chapter 3.
ya'll are some effin clowns, you don't know what you're missing.
Even after watching a whole play through of DS I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I'm now led to believe that this game is actually for everyone expect those who don't play games for what they are.
I think same!
I played it a bit at a friend's house and watched some gameplay, about half of chapter 3. To that point, it is indeed a walking simulator. And first impressions do matter to be honest. If a game adds some pretty intresting mechanics too late people might get bored to that point. That's my oponion.
I want to like this but this comment is on 69 like lol
on ps4 I saw trophies, and only 30-40 % made it to chapter 3
At first, I thought this game was bad. I didn’t play it but watched Jackscepticeye play it and it was so good. I cried in the end after finding out the truths and how some characters were actually good 😢
I massively respect any actor that can successfully do motion capture without losing it at the absurdity of the situation, while also acting.
The amount of effort and time given to this masterpiece is so awesome...glad i got to explore and experience this 💎 gem
It’s freaking amazing that they started with THAT and ended up with such a masterpiece. This is why I love Kojima

I never thought I'd be so fascinated by a game. The last of us was already where I felt connected to the characters, but Death Stranding tops it all many times over. A Masterpiece, seriously.
Have you played HZD? Wondered whether to get this as it looks a tad boring for the first few hours. Don’t shout at me, please, I’m just asking.
Absolutely loved this. The immersive experience it brought. A awesome real world feel. With beautiful scenery. Thank you for the creation of such a wonderful game. 😊
lol its so cool how they just use their office and a couple of people to visualize the scene, its crazy how creative kojima is
オフィスん中でステルスごっこしてるんか笑
楽しそうな!良い職場ですね!👍
これからも数々の名作を残して下さい!
When you realize the creation of the game was as crazy as the game itself 3:45
actually its amazing like they express ideas from nothing, everything just happens is in their imagination, I have no words
BTが出てきて息止める時、自分も息止めちゃうw
その迫りくる怖さを体感させてることが凄いと思う。
Seeing the actors themselves feels surreal as hell after seeing their virtual faces for 100+ hours
I finished the game last night, and all cutscenes, all caracter, all gameplays is very very, incredible, this game is really fantastic, unfortully, is not a game for every gamer, only special gamers, can handle and understand this epic new game from Kojima!! Thanks for all and hugs from Brazil.
This game truly is a masterpiece, I might be a little late to the hype but I still adored playing it. The acting and music are just wonderful and made me cry more than twice. It's truly a game that I will never forget. 👍
Could watch this all day.
Mads performance in that game is stunning.
I wished they showed the shower scene.
Filip Studený haha
Just beat the game last night. One of the most amazing adventures and experiences I've had.
Какой огромный труд! Это невероятно! Великолепный сюжет, очень хочу увидеть экранизацию, чтобы как можно больше людей увидели этот шедевр.
What can I say? Kojima is a genius! (thank's for the video)
That’s what I call a “hands-on” director.
I love that Norman actually got to be there for motion capture
Started this game this week on Pc.. And omg, what an immersive experience.. And really far out there story wise, incredible performance by the actors too.. And those graphics.. . Let's just say it looks breathtaking.
Keep on keeping on. Death Standing, one of my fav games at the moment!
1:36 its just weird to see mads nekelsen and norman reedus actaully fighting
its like a dream comes true
what a brilliant mind he had.....luckily he had the team that support him and understand what he want to deliver in the game....Sony sure lucky to recruit him as a game creator and join the Playstation Family
What a unique way to view about life and death. Calling this a game would be an understatement, it's an art.
Such a beautiful game. So much went into this production. Definitely in my top 10.
Quien imaginaria que hicieran los juegos con tanto esfuerzo....
Respeto a todos los trabajadores de vídeo juegos que se esfuerzan por hacerlo demasiado bien
5:57 BEST PART
This is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a very long time! I absolutely love the game
Artists... inspiring.
It's nice to see such great actors joining these projects. The veil between movies and games is bei g torn :D
Big salute to
"Hideo Kojima"
I greatly recommand watching this cool video AFTER beating the game. In order to not "ruin" the magic that occurs throughout the game :).
Thanks for the vid NeoGamer
Actors did phenomenal
I just loved Norman and Mads performances in the game.
The fact that the got Norman Reedus to play a main character in a game is awesome. It's cool to see Daryl in a game. But imagine if they actually named him Daryl in the game itself. But we all know Kojimas work is perfection. As he always did with the Metal Gear Solid franchise.
2:17 Guy has a Doom shirt. That absolute madlad!
TOMMIE EARL JENKINS'S REAL TEARS...
Im shook how good he acted
小島監督が楽しそうでよかった。
0:26 it's amazing with what a meaningful look he rides a motorcycle, immersed in himself, in the world of the game. Reedus is a great actor, his appearance is perfect for this role.
Was worth of efforts. Thank you, Kojima, and all people who made this game
ダイハードマン役の人、ほんとに泣いて演技してたんだな
