'Glycine' ! At last. I have been wanting your review of these watches. OMG. You are an amazing friend, Sir. I am continually surprised and gobsmacked by your generosity and friendship. I am humbled and overjoyed by having you in my circle of friends. Thank you as well for this review, your time, and your efforts to share with us all.
When I bougth a cheap diver watch, I loved placing a nato strap with it. It made the fit so much better. Even for rolex/omega, i sometimes have fitting issues so their microadjustment bracelets were great. But for cheaper watches, 3rd party Nato or leather straps will make you love them more.
I really appreciate your down to earth approach, coffee and all. I collect affordable watches that put a smile on my face. The purchase is usually linked with a special moment on the planet. Thanks for your videos 😎
Glycine watches are a great value and I have quite a few myself. Ashford is a great place to buy them because they are an AD for Glycine as well so you get warranty and all with it.
I too have a Glycine addiction...I have 6 Combats and three Airmen. I wear long sleeves a lot and want the thin profile. But I use two Combats the most and change straps. On my GL0076 I replaced the bezel insert with a blue sapphire LCBI lumed insert and change between a mesh strap and a Miltat tapered bracelet which really makes it a different watch. My other mod is the Black / Orange watch with a black sapphire lumed insert (LCBI) and on various Nato straps. These are my daily beaters. I wish someone would make a 12 hr bezel insert (ceramic or sapphire) as it would be much more useful to me with family in NY and AZ. I use my GMTs when working meetings between Netherlands and AZ.
Another great review and I agree that mesh strap looks great, I dont get on with bracelets generally but some time ago I bought an inexpensive square dress watch (think cheapo Cartier Tank) and immediately threw away the supplied bracelet and went for a mesh bracelet and found it really comfortable, so I guess I'll have to try one on a dive watch next, thanks.
Randy! I’m a big fan of both channels. Somehow, you run channels for 2/3 of my deepest interests. If you start a guitar related channel, I’ll probably keel over dead. Just wanted to encourage you to keep up the good work on the macro photography. It’s looking better every video!
I love my Omega SMP300 wave dial. I even bought a Mido with a wave dial. But I live in Fort Lauderdale. I put Milanese bracelets on a bunch of watches lol. Apparently I am not the only one.
I bought a "Costco" Glycine and a "Goldeneye' a few years ago. The only real issue was the iffy lume. Build and that flat case are brilliant. I followed those up with the bronze GMT, and that was arguably even better value.
I 14:04 Like theGlycine. My definition of cheap and yours have a gap you could drive a truck thru, but I was happy to hear your other budget choice was the Mako. I just got a used mako 2 and love it.
Really wish the lug to lug was a few millimeters shorter. I want this watch. At almost 50mm it's just too big for my 6.5" wrist I think. For my wrist shape that would be on top of the very end of my wrist.
Cheap Watch Man, You do realize that now that you’ve bought a Black Bay Ceramic and Rolex Sea-Dweller, you can’t really call your channel The Cheap Watch Guy… kind of a contradiction
the combat sub in certain color variants is decent but has very little in common with the nttd bond watch in terms of aesthetics, but the Heimdalhr version of it does and for the money it smokes the comsub on specs and visuals , sure the comsub has a nice movt but have you seen the octopus version of the bond? the comsub looks like a rolex , a hueur , and a brietling were fed to a wood chipper and then reassembled by an assembly line of blind guys, forgive me if I sound like Statler or Waldorf but I have been preparing to scratch the itch myself, I've been a regular follower of your channel for a while, and I appreciate your hard work sir

I couldn't resist, Simon. Was so excited to get this for you
@@cheapwatchman_official You are a special human being brother. Thank you.
Man you are right...on that mesh bracelet that thing really comes to life...thats a steal for the price and what you get is amazing...
amazing what a band change does. I was really surprised too

My pleasure!
I just got the Gray one last week. Put it on a black and silver NATO. Absolutely great value for the money. No regrets. Love your channel.
thanks, man. really appreciate you watching and commenting

I already own a bronze GMT but you've convinced me to buy a steel 3 hander lol. I love my GMT so it wasn't a hard sell
I love the quality of your videos! absolutely entertaining! keep it up!
lol. thanks. I don't think they're particularly good but I appreciate the compliment

Wow! that Bronze Seagull is gorgeous!
yeah. it's a real stunner

It’s the ‘Jack Reacher’ of watches
Absolutely!
Gotta be a Heimdallr Sea Ghost titanium for me as an alternative,
I do have a glycine combat automatic sub! Green and red version!
I’ll keep saying it, the helium escape valve on the Omega looks ridiculous. This watch looks so much better!
ha. it's not for everyone for sure
You should definitely get the bronze GMT I love mine
That seagull is crazy for the money nice pick
I was glad I got it.
I have the Bronze brown dial without the 24 hour markings on rubber strap. Nice watch 👍
what did you pay for it? I have a hard time understanding what the "street price" is on these watches
@@cheapwatchman_official It's been awhile but i think it was $379
@@cheapwatchman_officialI wish i would have got the Bronze GMT now on sale $528 !
Great video. Look forward to the Mako three video.
That is a Beautiful watch!!! Great Review Randy.👍👍👍
thanks, G
Awesome review - loving your work 👏
Glad you enjoy it!
Which mesh band would be the closest match to the Omega 007 one? I'm thinking about buying a Glycine, and I just wanted to get it all planned out lol.
Glycine Combat Vintage 42 GL0261 should be your next review.

Personally I’d go for the blue orient Kamasu. Looks a lot more expensive than this one and costs less!
Bro that looks sick
thanks. I really enjoy the combat subs
Did you say what movement movement is in it?
Keep up the great content!
Thanks, will do!
Dude you should try the glycene bronze combat sub gmt.
It's stunning!
hoping to get that in
if it had better lume I would buy immediately
Yeah. Lume not great
What was it you didn't like about the Strapcode Mesh bracelet? I was considering it since the curved end link bracelets never fit tightly to my Ray 2.
I like it. the clasp feels a little flimsy but it works. wearing it right now
Cheap Watch Man, You do realize that now that you’ve bought a Black Bay Ceramic and Rolex Sea-Dweller, you can’t really call your channel The Cheap Watch Guy… kind of a contradiction
NICE! Btw isn't the movement a Selita 200 instead of an ETA? Because Swatchgroup owns ETA and nowadays doesn't sell ETA movements to outside brands...
Not sure. When I looked it up it said ETA. I’ve been wrong before though. I could have seen it wrong
Has anyone had experience with the site if they send worldwide or just in US? I'd like to get the watch in Switzerland
Seems like orient kamasu would be a better dial match

I bought a 22mm and 20mm Bond Nato Strap and now ALL my watches are a cheap Bond alternative. The more you know.
star flies across the screen from left to right...
San Martin 6200 for the real James Bond watch. Sean Connery 50s galore
it costs 1200 dollars to buy in Denmark
yikes
Don’t buy the Panera design version it is crap. I owned that same combat sub but on bracelet, really good for the money.
The link shows a $495 watch. Looks like the price has changed.
It’s changed 3 times today. Just keep going back and it will be down to $329 or $312
It is still around $350 on Amazon
Orient Kamasu looks like a better alternative and yes, it still looks great on a steel mesh bracelet.
$3,000 for a watch is fuckin insane.
52mm lug to lug is not for me
CCP watch.
Spent to much on prime days already butwatchingyour watch show lol
ha. I don't blame you, sir
