    Nice results again.
    I myself have been running really poorly most of 2024, but definitely playing the best poker of my life as my understanding of the game has really grown exponentially over the last 2-3 years. Unfortunately over the last 2 weeks spanning 7 sessions may have been the worst results I can remember...been rivered by 2 outers on three different hands over the past 7 sessions when I got the money all-in on the turn heads up...$480, $730, $950 pots playing $1/2 w $5 straddle, max $400 buyin at Hollywood Casino Columbus... brutal. I keep thinking one day I'll run like McCusker😎
    By the way, on your advice I bought a few hundred shares of CLSK at around $20/share about 2 months back. It feels like it's getting ready to rip higher soon.
    Give those of us who are interested a follow up report on the Clean Spark facility/company on your next vlog...and share the run good please!!

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  8 месяцев назад +2

      Bad runs happen and they can continue for longer than you would like. Hang in there, play solid. CLSK is my biggest holding right now. I expect Bitcoin to breakout of this 3 month sideways trend. When it does, all Bitcoin related stocks should perform well.

    What’s the strategy behind limping 55 on the button and limping along with A5 suited? Not a fan of those plays personally, whether it worked out or not in the end

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  8 месяцев назад +1

      With several callers, I like to limp with small pocket pairs because the player pool will payoff with all there top pair hands. Against stronger competition, I like to raise and play more aggressively. Similar reasoning with A5s out of position.

    Bonus: 2/3 pot is a big bet into 4 people with two draws that are not to the nuts. A 2/3 turn bet means that villain is going to call on a lot of brick rivers because he only has 240 left in a pot of 420. AP on the river I think your only bluff size is small (to target busted flush draws higher than 8x, 9x, Jx, etc.) because you don't have enough behind to bet huge (280 in a pot of 260). I'd bet 280 with the flush.

    KJcc you turn a world of outs and opponent bets 1/3 pot, you are in position, people have been folding to your raises and squeezes so your image seems tight , why not pot it right now ? No one seems that strong and if you’re called oh well you have lots of outs. If looks like you often have a set to top pair flush draw potting it here no ? I think you can get a lot of hands to lay down that are ahead of you and again if they call not the end of the world it sets up a river jam if the straight comes in and the flush can be a decent bet too. If you miss river white flag it

    Like chicken soup for my soul.
    I wanted to agree and disagree with you. I agree when you lament not betting bigger in the bonus hand, that's a great time to get value with a big bet. Even more right, a bigger turn bet would have made it easier to get value and represent a bluff.
    In the first hand, your flopped set, your shove makes less sense. Technically, it's a pot sized raise, but his prior action pretty much caps him at trip fours, which means he can only call to bluff-catch. This is when a value sized raise is better; he's not comparing your raise to the pot, rather to what he's already bet. He's vpip $165 post flop: a $175 raise has a chance to get a crying call, mistaken value call, maybe induce a shove from a strong 4. A $300+ shove requires him to double his investment, too scary for any unsure hands.
    I have been loving Big Bet Doug this month, and I'm sure it's going to pay dividends soon as you start to get lighter calls.
