Piccadilly station 1913? It’s my understanding that it was re- named Piccadilly station in 1967, us older Mancunians still call it London Road Station.
I still dream quite frequently about waiting for buses to Salford on the corner near the Model shop, (either those coming down Peter St. or along Deansgate) as I had to do it nearly every weekday from 1970-1986. The service was frankly lousy.
Hi Damian, I search the internet to get the photos and the dates are not always given. I leave these blank rather than try and guess and probably getting it wrong. Quite often my viewers fill in the blanks for me. Glad you enjoyed the video. Regards.
I know times were hard back when these fantastic pictures were taken but doesn't the place look nice and safe.
Brilliant especially the lovely piccadilly gardens that were a pleasure to sit in
Just look at the monstrosity with which they replaced the Gardens.
I used to sit in the gardens during my lunch break during the summer.
They beautiful and now it’s just a concrete shit hole full of foreigners. What have we allowed to happen to our beautiful city and country.

Brilliant video of Manchester, especially Piccadilly Garden's and Woolworths.
Loved Woolworths as a kid. Great memories …
Excellent pal 👍🏼
I remember the Cinephone on Market St and all those shops back then.

Thank you so much!
1;40 king street west def late 90s also looks like arndale. i used to go to that shop.
Watched parts one and two it was nice to see the city l remembered and all the happy memories
1:37 Not mid-60s. More like early 2000s judging by the Vodafone shop!
Exactly. Even the date in the right corner says 1998.
And not King St West. Looks like the Arndale to me.
Those certainly aren't 1960s prices!
I can almost taste the pollution from the leaded petrol...
What a fantastic memoir…!
If you have time it would be great mif you could add ( approximate ) dates to the clips you’ve added..
Dxx
