My grandma used to work at Belle Vue in the 60s, when she managed the waxworks. When my parents wanted some alone time, we got the run of the park. It was brilliant.

Whit Week was my favourite time of the year. My church walked to Manchester on Whit Monday which meant I was free to watch the Friday Walks There’s no doubt about it, the Italians were the stars of the Friday Whit Walks. We saw Our local ice cream man Joe (Gio) Granelli who was helping to carry the Madonna.

Very nice. Bring back those days. And take 50 years off my age. Cheers.
