There are a couple comments below asking the same question about how to go back and listen to just the frequency you saved. Can you help with this. My scanner still scans every frequency. My grandfather is only interested in one frequency and not the other ones so I am wondering how to isolate just that one to make it easier for him
Hello! All you should need to do is go to settings then "set scan selection" and scroll to "select lists to monitor" then turn off all the lists except the one you made with the one frequency saved. Hope that helps! Cheers
Thanks that was awesome. This is how I have to learn this thing and small steps like you just did. I really know nothing about the scanner so I got to keep up with your channel.
Man thank you so much for making this video. I went from being intimidated to zipping through and adding my whole local air force base and spent my lunch listening to ATC. Thanks again !!
I just bought an SDS100 and it was pre programmed with a couple of counties. I wanted to manually add a couple of NOAA weather frequencies and I didn't know how to do it. I followed you on this video and mission accomplished. I made a favorites called weather and I put 2 frequencies in there. Thanks so much for a great video!
I just pick one up. I used zip code. I got most stuff. I need to figure out how to get my town in one scan area. Public works, fire, etc. it’s been a while. I was from the radio shack era. Big blue frequency book. I miss those days, it was so easy.
I may be purchasing this scanner soon and was wondering when adding frequencies via Zip Code, for example would this add my county's p25 system for law, fire and ems? or would i have to manually add those through the software? Thanks!
Hi, I am going to support your channel I have had Bearcat scanners for over 50 plus years. My SDS 100 is coming today ups the store were my Sister bought the SDS 100 and a 996p2 was purchased at Bearcat Warehouse. I called them a few days ago and asked if I needed Provoice and DMR they said that at this time I would not need them. I had a question I had 4 counties from the Boston area programmed on to my radio. Could I isolate the four counties and use the zip code feature.? Thank You Sir Brian King
Thank you for watching Bryan did you happen to find my video on the channel that shows how to program by service type that would work great with the ZIP Code feature for programming the areas you’re talking about
Good video. I learned that the name of the Favorite List can be long. I always kept mine to the edge of the first line thinking that was all I can do. I also learned that when making a quick list I can say no to the first option and then it gives me the option to put it in a already done FL.
Great info, Thank you. My question is Can you simply enter a frequency and monitor it? Or does each one need to be saved to a named favorite? Stay well.
After you input frequency you want to monitor, you simply press Channel button on top right instead of E, it would go directly to that frequency. I was scratching my head on how to do this but had to look up the manual.
Thanks for this. Any tips for importing a database from my old scanner in FreeScan to the USDS100? Or software to program new systems? I've got a lot of data and prefer not to do it via the radio manually.
How do you get it to scan JUST the channels you entered? It still scans the full database. I tried turning off database and search w/scan and leave my new favorites list "On", then it says "Nothing to scan". I have to keep database "On", but that scans more than I want it to.
Did you ever figure this out? I just picked up this scanner, and day by day I'm getting closer to smashing it with a sledge hammer. Its far more arduous to use than a handheld digital scanner should be.
I'm having the same exact problem,I did exactly what you did shut off full database and left favorite 1 on. Scanner says nothing to scan. I'm confused because I'm not seeing the same screen he's showing
@@carlvitko1355 I returned it and kept the Whistler TRX-1. The screen isn't as nice as the SDS100 but it was cheaper and also picks up DMR signals. Which is something you'd have to pay extra for from Uniden.
NIce video I just got my sds100 two days ago and love it Im stepping up from an old radio shack scanner, so im learning this new one. Do you know how I can set up led alerts for emergency frequencies like fire and ems? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a lot for this video it helped me out.
Hey Karl, Thanks for watching! I actually went to this from a Radioshack pro 164 :-) which i actually still use a lot. The sds100 is my main scanner now though, it's been great for me. Is this what you're talking about? ruclips.net/video/NGO1lXNKYBg/видео.html&t Cheers!
@@BoyAndAScanner Yes it is what i was looking for, thank you. How did you backup your sd card, i can't seem to find ez scan software for sds100 anywhere. I dont see it on my sd card, can't find it at zip scanners where i bought the sds100, or on unidens website, so i just opened the BCDx36HP file and copied everything to a folder on my desktop. Do you think this is ok, or is there a better method. Thanks again you have been a great help to me
I didn't have the DMR parameters (slot, color, talk group) just the frequency so in this case I just programmed as conventional and then I can lock onto it later when something comes through and get more data from it and possibly move it to a DMR One. I've got more on DMR coming up so stay tuned! Thanks for watching!
dear sir..Hello, I bought a dsd100 and it is soon to arrive in my country. I live in Argentina. Do you think that I will be able to listen to the organs of my country?
Great video... I work as a transit city bus driver & there is a radio (don't think it's a CB) How do I go about finding out which frequency they use? I couldn't find it online. Thanks
i just bought a uniden sds 100 and i live in new Zealand entered my location the unit is scanning but never finds anything yet my old ubc75xlt finds channels ok So what am i doing wrong
All I want to do is add scanner frequencies manually. I recently upgraded my Uniden bearcat 75XLT to the SDS100. I have to say…I do miss the simplicity of the old scanner. Entering my location via zip code into the SDS 100 causes it to scan several frequencies that I don’t want. I want to be able to scan only EMS, fire, and police and scan one at a time if I choose to. For example, I only want to enter 2 law enforcement frequencies and be able to listen to only those 2 if I choose to. Anyone know how to do this?
Hi @kevinemilcar887! Programming radio IDs into the SDS100 is a bit different compared to entering regular frequencies. Here’s how you can do it step-by-step: Step 1: Find or Collect the Radio IDs • First, make sure you have a list of Radio IDs. These are unique numbers associated with specific radios on a trunked system (commonly used in systems like P25). Step 2: Enter the Radio ID into the SDS100 1. Press Menu on your SDS100. 2. Go to Manage Favorites and select the system or favorites list where you want to program the Radio IDs. 3. Scroll to Edit System and choose the Talkgroup section. 4. Here, you can enter the Radio ID numbers manually as if you’re entering a new talkgroup. Make sure to label them appropriately so you can easily identify them later. Step 3: Scan for Radio IDs • Once you’ve entered the Radio IDs, your SDS100 should be able to monitor the traffic and display the IDs of active radios as they transmit. Let me know if you need more help or further clarification! Cheers!
i watch you program sd 100 but you are a little fast for me i want the soft ware for rail roads i only have the fire and policve by put in my zip code which i did 17050 mechanics burg pa
I see he never responds to questions. He missed a step somewhere. When I push the channel button I see no where to add a frequency. I guess he did respond to a few questions.
Can you explain what isn't working a bit more clearly, It works as I do this all the time. I'm more than happy to do a video for you or something a bit more clear for your situation if it helps.
This scanner is technically very good the software is terrible. To enter a single frequency takes 20 steps that are just poorly written software. Wake up to yourself Uniden.

Thank you so much!, indeed, there are no good how-to videos on the sds100, except those in ypur channel. Please keep up the good work!

Will the Sds100 allow you to input frequencies in the 380.000 range?
Yes absolutely. Frequency coverage: 25-512, 758-824, 849-869, 894-960 and 1240-1300 MHz.

Look at Radio Reference. Do a search on your location and anything that's in the selected geographic area will show up.
Just saw this video, but when it receives a signal does it recognize that its DMR?
Thanks 👍🏾Great info
Your welcome 🙂 Thanks for watching
Good info to know, how do you go about entering a for example a ham NXDN or DMR frequency, conventional simplex (not trunking) ? Thanks for your help.
Once I type in my frequency and save it like you did, how can I add a CTCSS tone for that frequency? Thanks!
@Boy And Scanner How do I search for frequencies for SDS100? I don't live in the USA or Canada.
