Just came across your website and videos, great resources but not sure why you guys need personal information on the website to determine if a scanner works in a certain area? I don't think my email address is needed for a search.
So I just picked one up and do see that if you try to look at the edges of the screen you do see light coming through - is this what you are talking about?
I have had one since the SDS100 came out and enjoyed it until P25 scrambled police calls shut most interesting calls down. Then dealer tells me it is illegal to pickup this scrambled signal.
What do you recommend for truck drivers going down the road? I saw some guy say I need a p25 p2. Is that right? Do I need a satellite ball thingy with it?
@Jacc Trippa One of our pre-programmed digital scanners with GPS is highly recommended for truckers. Check out the beartracker885 which comes with GPS scanning included. bearcatwarehouse.com/products/uniden-beartracker-885-hybrid-cb-radio-digital-scanner
Hello, my area here in Michigan is currently switching over to P25. My question is if you know is there going to be away to listen to my area if they end up encrypting it so we can't here our local police or surrounding police and fire departments. Just trying to figure out if it is going to be worth buying a SDS 100 or 200 or both. My area is finally switching to P25 from Opensky which is not scannable by any scanner.
@Bobby Smela I assume you're referencing Oakland County MI? once the transfer happens if they are unencrypted an SDS100 or 200 will receive public safety there.
@@Bearcatwarehouse I got an email yesterday from a councilman and my Chief of Police, that they are in deed in the process of switching over to P25 from Opensky as we speak. They both said the process should be completed by the 3rd or 4th quarter. Even when Oakland County Michigan was using Opensky, I was still getting my local Fire Department and surrounding fire departments just not police. Now that Oakland County Michigan and the Novi/South Lyon area is in the process of switching to P25, I'm just trying to figure out if it will be worth investing in a SDS 100 or 200, or another scanner capable of listening to p25. I would really appreciate your thoughts on this before I make a move on what to do next. Thanks for your time.
I watched a few demos on these, I am interested in purchasing one but it seems like there is no AGC, some stations blast in super loud and some are quiet, how do you set the volume? Is there a setting for that?
I haven't owned one of these since about three versions ago, at least 10 years. Is the case of these things still as poorly constructed as they were back then? Also, have they made water and dust resistant in any way? Back when I had mine they didn't even have a plug to keep water out of the earphone jack. For 600+ dollars that's inexcusable.
Have your read into these things at all? Even a cursory browse of Uniden’s website about them will tell you all you want to know. Scanners have drastically changed in the past few years. They’re significantly more complex and functional.
@ s m The two LED indicators above the display indicate charge status (right LED; red when charging, green when charged) and channel alert indication (left LED)."
It’s truly shocking on airband. Popping, clicking and terrible bleed over from adjacent channels on every transmission regardless of which filter I use. SDS100 is the same. It was unusable on airband.
Can you do a beginner's guide on bcd325p2 straight out the box or know of a video all ready out cause I'm lost. I plug the scanner up to my laptop and it won't install and it's giving an error code for the uniden bcd996p2
I've seen quite a few reviews from people who bought this radio and indicated that the radio basically crapped out after a very short time (too short for how much it costs). Are these reviews accurate? I'm not going to pay $650 for a radio that is going to die after a few months.
@Terry cobb MI uses the (MPSCS) system for primary transmitting, only select areas in MI use encryption. We've sold thousands of radios to MI, as of this date the SDS100 is the best radio for monitoring the unencrypted channels in MI.
@@tbublz the stuff you hear on broadcastify comes from Police scanners. Someone locally is rebroadcasting with a police scanner through the app, there is also a delay on the app.
I live in Lansing, MI... The SDS100 works perfectly... especially in simulcast mode.. Have a cabin at Houghton Lake works good their as well.. Their are only a few areas that use encrypted...
@You Know I respectfully disagree, this is one of if not the best scanner for P25. I've used this in multiple states with excellent results. I'm sorry to hear it isn't working out for you.
Your 5 minute video just saved me an hour’s worth of searching and reading. Excellent.
@slik560 Happy to help!
Thank you! Finally after almost a year of listening to out of county non sense, got it narrowed down to my specific county!
@heathwolverton6710 No problem, Happy to help!
I just got one of these from you guys and I love it. We had a tornado hit our town yesterday and it was crazy listening to all the first responders.
@

I just ordered one from Amazon via your other site
Virginia just had a huge snow storm! Lost power pulled out my sds100 and my emergency services were overwhelmed.
Hey, just purchased one. I'll be listening in on Baltimore City services! Thanks for the guide.
@SoCalFreelance Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it!
Hello fellow Marylander. Great video for beginners, I could have used it when I first got the SDS100.
@Joseph Durnal
Thanks for the comment!!
Thanks man got mine today! Still figuring it out.
@sanner400 No problem.
Is there a way to avoid complete systems without individually avoiding each channel?
Thank you in advance!
Thanks. I just bought one and have it being pre loaded. This really helps but also need to know how put in zip code for local channels?
What is the squatch
Please consider posting details How we can make this scanner or another receive audio from "town of Hamburg Police department" in Hamburg NY?
thank you so much helps a great deal im used to my pro-106 but this is a step above
@Jeff carpenter No problem, happy to help!
Thanks for the info! Didn't realize you guys were based in Howard County. Work for a local LMR shop and will be buying one of these very soon!
4/22 - latest batch of these are back in stores - and being returned to stores because of a screen fit / light bleed issue.
So I just picked one up and do see that if you try to look at the edges of the screen you do see light coming through - is this what you are talking about?
I just got mine and scared to program it
Very nice and useful tutoral...is there a desktop version of the SDS100?
@Tim OL Yes, the SDS200, ruclips.net/video/pfuvsuLJU-4/видео.html
hello .. thanks for the video .. a question the menu has the possibility of putting it in Spanish?
I'm getting this scanner in the mail tomorrow
@Michael G no
did u get it, how is it, was it worth the price?
@@outbacklife2025 yes good yes it's worth the price
I just got it but how do I put a battery in
How do I learn how to use this more extensively? I bought one on a whim but not sure how to use it properly
I just got mine yesterday I was told I could car to car is there something I have to turn on in the settings
Can u use that scanner in nz.?

Hey Paul can you walk us through the sentinel software for windows please sir
@jazz music We have a sentinel video here: ruclips.net/video/hqn28-2hOJs/видео.html , I hope this helps

how does this compare to the Radio Shack Pro2096
How do you lock and unlock keys from accidentally pushing one
@KB2CWN You press Function, then tap the power button. This will enable/disable the keypad lock.

Will this display MDT/KDT Messages?
Thanks !! great info.
Can this scanner be used in South Africa? Most of the radio's here work with a sim card,can it be scanned? My zip code here is 1609.
Hi. Is there a plug outlet to accept a hand held microphone?
@TheHayabusa09
no, the SDS100 is a receiver only so unfortunately, there is no microphone or plugin option.

How to boost ur volume
Mine comes in today!
Is great simple explanation Don't have to be a nuclear physicist to understand it Regular normal people can grasp it You don't need a phd and scanning

Ok x Italy?
Thanks very helpful

This radio better at receiving then the bcd32592 it is garbage I hear every other word it cuts out so bad
thanks nice video 73
@Alvaro Gaitan Thanks!
Why does it have to be so complicated? You would think with all that modern technology it would do everything itself.
