- Today we are having to make a few changes on how we do things, it has been around 17 days since we have had measurable rainfall and temperatures are rising. We know the Lord will bless us with rain when the time is right, but for now we've got to do some readjusting.

Love the cow getting right up close and personal with the camera! 😃
You are such good people. I love how much you care about your family and your animals. I pray you get some rain soon. God will provide.
And the bee's !
Megan and Andy, your channel is hands down the best of its kind out there. You all are so humble and grateful for all the Lord provides. God bless you all and keep the great videos coming!
Watching your cows run through the pasture ❤❤❤
Joel Salatin talks about how they would pour concrete inside tires and set the fenceposts in them and harden. Then they could move electric fencing where the ground wasn't suitable.
We are having a dry spell. This is our potatoe crop . I have gave 3 buckets away. And I have canned another bucket. I'm so proud of my potatoes. God is good. It wouldn't let me show the picture off the potatoes. We got 2 big wash tubs heaping over plus 4 more buckets.
That's why we love ya'll, it's real life. Not no production to make it look easy. Garden's looking great. 107° heat index today here in Kentucky. Stay hydrated ya'll.
I love hearing a roaster crow early of the morning. I have been retired for 11 years now and still wake up at 04:30 every morning. I can hear a roaster at a distance start crowing at about 06:00, if I am outside. Some mornings I go out just to hear him crow, brings back good old memories.
Hey folks. Happy summer! Looks like you are doing what all good farmers do for their livestock by remaining flexible and attentive. If you have a bit of your tree line that can be fenced in some way to allow cattle to wander in some of it, it might be helpful. Like you have done with your pigs. Just a thought. Some of the trees may be healthy for them to eat the leaves (free forage and “pruning”), and their size takes care of some of the undergrowth. Cattle do well when forested. 😊
Thank you for showing real farm life. Praying for rain.
Glad to hear what you say about the animals and not letting them starve. Makes me feel good inside about how much yall do care about all your animals.
Organic🤗😁👍
You guys should try Diatomaceous Earth on your cabbage. It will wipe those slugs out and won't hurt you, the animals or the pollinators.
That is some big cabbage haul. Those cows are so happy. Made me laugh with them. Sure hope you folks get some rain. Hope you hadca great Fathers Day and celebrating 2 HAPPY BIRTHDAYS you 2 men. Blessings to you.
God Bless you all sorry to hear about the dry spell yall having at least you're making effort to take care of you're animals God Bless you all ❤️ 🙏 praying for rain
AN ATTA GIRL to Maggie
Her flower garden is so pretty. She has done a great job in taking cars of her flower🌻🌻
From a family of Bee keepers I commend you for what you do to look out for them. Amen! Love this Channel
Hot and dry in Iowa too- 95 today. Cow was cute checking out the camera😂happy birthday Jacob and Megan 🎊 🎉
Its hot here in Florida and we are in a drought, thank the Lord for air conditioning, ❤yalls channel!!!!
Careful what you wish for. Flash froze suxs🥀🤒😷🤮🥶
Praying for rain 🙏❤️
This week, it's already been 98 degrees, 2 days in a row, with no end in sight this week. Also, no rain for the past 2 weeks, either. I understand the stress this causes for ya'll. For us, the stress this puts on the crops, the gardens, the animals (we have cows, goats, horses, chickens, etc) is really hard on them. I really appreciate you guys taking the time to protect and consider the lives of your animals and make sure they can be safe and comfortable in this weather. Special prayers and blessings to all of you, including the viewers of this video.
I planted Kentucky Blue beans ( pole bean ) seed from Burpee and only got about 50% germination . I tried them again this year from the same seed stock form last year and had No Germination at all . I like the idea of storing the cabbage in foil in the frig gonna try that this year . You guys put in a lot of hard work hope your harvests are great for you
It’s dry and hot in Georgia too
Will pray ya'll get some rain.
We are getting a bit of rain here in Tennessee. Pray you get some today or tonight too.
I laughed when you told about the rooster. I have one that's loose and he is at my bedroom every morning at 4:30. He's the best alarm clock.
Things are no better up here in Fancy Gap. Rain is so needed. Just finished first cutting of hay yesterday with almost 100 rolls less than last year. We just got to trust we will get rain when the lord sees fit.
Pray you get rain!! ☔
I look forward to our visits to your beautiful farm every morning. Love the good o'l fashion fellowship. TFS God Bless.
I would soak those cabbages emersed in water with baking soda to get rid of any bugs for at least 10 minutes. Then rinse with fresh water. I will never complain again of the cold winters here in Canada, it gets rid of the bugs! I couldn't believe how big those slugs were!
Lol! Y’all are too funny! That slug was big enough to fry! Hope y’all get some rain soon, if we don’t get a good wettin here soon I don’t know what we’re gonna do........
Happy Birthday Meagan and Jacob! Remember to can some more of that Carolina Cole Slaw.
You need some berms and swales so your land will hold onto more water. Try using a cheap dish washing soap on bugs or Diamatous Earth.
That is the best, most simple answer on the 7dust I've heard Mr.Andy! Makes all the sense in the world, hear me talkin to ya!
We've been dry here to till last Thursday evening. Got .9 that night and luckily very little hail that had been forecasted. Then got another .7 on Saturday so very thankful as I'm sure my gardens are too! Praying some comes your way soon! I don't like using pesticides either but the Japanese beetles were horrible last summer here so I bought some liquid sevin and sprayed. Did the job and the harm to your vegetables is harmless. Just wash good before using. Hoping not to see those nasty bugs this year!!
I haven't tried this myself, but I've heard that if you put beer in bowls and set them around your garden, slugs will drown themselves in the beer. I guess they are attracted to the yeast. You might want to give it a try.
Yup, we are bone dry too. Hasn’t rained since first of May. I live 30 min west of Jacksonville Florida. I’m in Macclenny Florida.
That was so fun seeing those cattle run up that hill that was funny and all of your gardens are looking so good thank you for the video ❤
That is the best looking corn patch I've seen in a long time and it doesn't look like it's suffering one bit. You're exactly right Andy. You can plow the moisture right out of the ground. Those cabbage heads look good despite the slug damage. What's your opinion of Dipel. From what I understand it isn't harmful to bees and it appears to be controlling the squash bugs on my squash.
I bought liquid seven this time, plus planted 4 big stands of bee balm out at the 4 corners. Im calling it even since the bees will have something to keep themselves busy while the liquid seven dries!❤
They are so nosy. I love your animals. Cuteness overboard
Pray for rain. God bless!
thank you for using your brain and common sense with the pesticides :)
In north Florida, we have had 100 degree temperatures, and it wasn't close to summer then. Now, because a possible something out there, the temps dropped to the 80s.My grass is brown and crunchy, but my water is for my crops. I can't eat the grass over here 😅😅😅.Prayers for rain for all those who need it in Jesus Christ of Nazareth name. Amen
Praying we all get rain. We are in the mid 90's and no rain for the past two weeks. Lawns are all starting to brown up. We don't use any chemicals in our yard. I still have about 6 cabbages outside in the garden that are looking kinda buggy. Started picking some yesterday. OMG the worms and slugs in them. Pick off the outer leaves and then soak them in cold water with some Redmond Real salt and the worms and slug come right out and sink to the bottom of the bucket. Love watching your videos.
I love the explanation on 7 dust it does make total sense for sure
Cabbage looks good,, love fried cabbage! Yall have a great attitude about things,, it is what it is! I feel the same way. Prayers for rain. ❤❤
Hot and dry in Ohio too! 98.5 today with high humidity. Miserable! Hope all of us get some rain. 🙏 Good to see you! Blessings
Your cabbages look great! I pray you all get the rain that you need and soon. Here in Central IL we are getting the hot 90's all week also. It was 96 degrees over the weekend and so humid it takes your breath. Like you, that's usually July weather. I want the high 70's and low 80's back.
The baby chicks are getting big. I love to see the cow run, too. ;) That's great you'll have corn by the 4rh of July! 🌽 Oh wow, that was interesting info on the 7 dust and bees. 🐝 Hope y'all had a great weekend w father's day and birthdays. 🎉 Hope you get rain! Have a blessed week! 😊🌅🏵️🐦
We've Ben in the 90's here in Michigan. Today was Soo hot n steamy. We got a short downpour then it got humid.
Going to be a hot week here
it will rain guys hang in there , it will rain , just hang on , yes do what you have to do , it will get better , my son is in kentucky and they re feeling the heat too and struggling to keep their alpacas cool , we 're hoping to sell our CA property very soon so we can join them and help them on their little 12 acre farm , we love it there and being from CA. dry and heat is not unusual for us ,but it 's sure is hard on animals and growing crop , but let's us allkeep praying, it 's gonna turn around
For slugs, try a slug beer trap. Beer in a bowl. They are attracted to the smell, get in it and drown. I use it in my garden and it works well. I live in San Antonio, Texas.
You could but some of those large food safe containers, put spigots on them and load them on the chicken trailer. Put some gutters on your out buildings and create a rain catchment system. When you have no rain like now you can move the trailer where you need it and put a little water where you need it most
Happy Birthday to you and your son 🎉
I just love this channel. You guys are so genuine. ❤
It's not giving up, it's adapting to the present condition and doing the best you can.
I'm having to make different decisions in my garden also because of no rain also.
The key is thankfulness for what we do have. Which I'm sure you are.
I enjoy your channel.
❤
Meghan, try the reusable green produce bags. They work well at keeping produce longer. Like months for cabbage. They are online or walmart.
Hoping here that you get a drenching in the near future. Thankyou for all your work to produce the videos , they are a joy to watch. All the best.
Your cows look happy getting out! You have beautiful property even if it's dry! Our rooster starts growing very early in the morning.
Much love from Appalachia Kentucky.
I do believe you are doing the right thing, sometimes more ground is less stress for the short term, God will provide.
Glad you all take such good care of your animals and I love how Tiger is always around trying to help with what your doing
I love that about Tiger too. I'm glad you see it too ❤
Love watching you guys!
Omg I loved the cow and the camera.
Have you ever thought of putting hogs in that brushy area? They'll clean it out and it looks shady enough. You can also get some heavy gauge copper wire, staple it to the top of your raised bed, and that'll really help with the slugs. Its amazing, they touch it and turn right around most of the time.
Gonna be hot here in Maine next few days. 90 and up .
Hope you both have Birthday as great as you are..HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎉 I🌺🌸
I asked my local amish..they use 7 sparingly..so thats what I do...mostly for my cukes and beans when they are popping up
For slugs, just sprinkle rock salt about 4-6 inches around the plants
Hi Meghan, you have a beautiful garden. I try to never miss a video as I enjoy watching you and the family on the farm. How do you preserve those beautiful herbs? Ms Elaine in North Carolina.
Y’all guys are awesome. I love honey bees to. Love y’all’s channel beautiful farm.
I don’t know how Hoss seeds does it but every seed I get from them comes up 100%. No other company does as good for me.
I am a furm believer in water catchment systems. I know it will not help the fields but it will keep you garden growing. I can catch 20 gallons of water from a light rain off my patio easy up canopy. When we had our farm I had a system on my barn that could catch hundreds of gallons with one good rain.
Y'all are sure busy on the farm, Andy, the purple sweet potatoes and very good and they are super good for you. Enjoyed the video.
Love seeing the cows run! They are so cute! Praying for rain for all of you. No chance of just grabbing a hose or watering by hand? Good luck! 🤗
Yeah, we've had two bitty sprinkles in over two weeks. I'm not moving my goats, I'm scything a cart of weeds everday for them to eat. I'm watering my little patch of corn and carrying buckets of water for spot watering. I live off rain collection so it's kind of worrying.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️prayers for rain for you guys🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
It’s also very dry here in Richmond VA The grass is brown and crunchy. Hopefully it will rain soon but this whole week there’s no rain in the forecast. Hope y’all get some rain as well!
We’re in the NC Piedmont and the grass is crispy. The plants are struggling. I can’t wait for rain.
Glad to hear about the seven dust
I’ve got cows and we’ve been through the droughts, but I would fence them in the woods feed hay, the rains will come. Once you over graze the fields it is harder to recover, I wouldn’t worry about weaning the calves they’ll do better off their mama’s right now. I’m not saying I’m a pro but have had experience in this. Enjoy your family and your videos keep em coming. It’ll all work out patience, patience, and patience!!!
Out here in Virginia where I live Central Virginia probably about 50 miles off the coast the field corn that the farmers grow out here if you boil the corn it turns the water red
I had to get ride of my roosters because 1 of my 6 neighbors complained, the other 5 loved them. Problem was I get up at 4am to go to work and the roosters figured that out and started crowing at 4-4:30 am
I would pump water from the creek to water your pasture for the cows and chickens
Needs lotsa hical lime powder/fines! May not grow much but it'll increase value, and soften the ground, bring back the earth worms, they create holes for water air/oxygen to go down and boost the root system!
Praying for rain for you.
I wrapped mostly all my vegetables that go in the fridge and tinfoil makes it last so long celery is the best it lasts forever wrapped in tinfoil
Happiest Birthdays to y’all!!
Happy Birthday, Meagan and Jacob!!! God bless you both!! 🎊🎂🎈🎁🎊❤️✝️
Love y’all and praying for rain. It’s really dry here east of Raleigh
Happy birthday! 🎉 Also, thank you so much for your calm way of handling pests. Sometimes I get all worked up and there’s nothing really to get worked up about.
Nice vidio my friend ..full support
I love watching you and family
My parents lived at Ocean Isle!! You guys are great. Great info on 7 dust.
Andy thankyou for not using 7 dust. Do you have rhubarb?. I think you love to gro w about anything. I suggest rhubarb. Ha ha. Also where are your pigs? Yummy sweet corn! Sounds so good! We used to make kraut in a 5 gallon crock. I remember skimming off the foam. But it was delicious!
We are cool right now. Went out to coop at 95 degrees. Phoenix, AZ End of the week 114. We had no "monsoon" last yesr.. Hoping we get it this summer. Hope you will have water in the soon future.
Back to grey and overcast in nw Oregon, drizzle today pouring rain yesterday, should get sunshine mid week, we hope my garden needs Sun!!
Definitely would keep the wagon.
Thanks for another great video! 😊
♥️✝️🇺🇸 I surely do enjoy your videos, your kind hearts for your animals & your love of family…
