  • Today is a little different, we have left the homestead! We were invited by some very special friends for a trip of the lifetime! We didn't get a ton of footage but believe me we had the best time and have never felt more like family.

It speaks well of y'all that you had plenty of folks to take care of things at home while y'all were gone. Daddy always said you have to be a neighbor to have neighbors. I'm glad y'all enjoyed a safe and fun trip. You're exactly right Andy. If you wait for the perfect time to do something, you'll never get it done.

Wish I had known about your trip. When you were at the okefenokee swamp you were only 70 miles us in Fitzgerald ga and wish you could have come by to see the world's tallest topiary and visit a town that was founded in 1895 by union and Confederate soldiers. This is a very unique town one of a kind. The topiary is a chicken that is 69 feet tall. Glad you had a great trip

Hi y'all, thank you for sharing your trip, enjoyed it. I lived in Florida many years ago, on a "dirt" road like the one y'all were on. The ditches were at least two feet deep and maybe that wide. When it rained a lot the road was pure slop and the ditches would be full. My first encounter with fire ants, not good. After we moved away it was months before we stopped running from ants. Thanks again! Glad y'all had a good time.

So glad you got to take that trip. I live in upstate SC , Spartanburg and we are spending the week at Edisto island off the coast os SC. From the upstate to the coast is so different, I love seeing the topography change when we travel. But I absolutely love the mountains and we are only about an hour away from Asheville NC. Very fortunate to be as close as we are to both mountains and sea.

I'm so glad y'all made it to the great state of Alabama. I live in central Alabama. It's a whole different world from L.A. (lower Alabama). 😀 The farther north you go the more mountainous it becomes. I live on a mountain. We barely have a flat spot anywhere, and rocks galore. I live in a county that leaves folks alone. We don't have county officials breathing down our necks like some do across the U.S. It's a beautiful place with lots of great people. And yes, we have our share knuckleheads in this state.

This was great to watch! How blessed you are to have folks to pitch in for you so you could get away. You were in what I call the "Deep South". My mom's family was from AL and GA, so I have some of that in my bones. Just a little further South is where I live, Central Fl, Which is not so southern anymore with all the tourist stuff. That is why your channel is such a pleasure to watch and spend time with people like you!

Mangalitsas are pretty unique pigs! They don't "usually" get as big as some of the commercial type breeder hogs (but can). The curls drop in summer, like shedding. At least they do here in the deep south. Can't speak to other locations. Great tasting meat but definitely a lot of lard. I know... Useless info. Ha!

I work in in an R+D Eng shop in textiles here in NC. Our company bought into a Giant Miscanthus grass company for some reason. I helped develop a prototype planter to plant the rhizomes. I later traveled to Dublin GA for the first time to a large machine shop to help build the final version. I couldn't believe the dirt roads either and had never seen an armadillo before then. It definitely was different than our foothills in NC. I also had a craving for some of the peas with the snaps early this week and that's really strange since I haven't eaten them in years . I recently joined this channel and I’m loving everything about it ! I watch the news and see how the families in America has been decimated and feel there’s no hope …., then I find channels like yours that reassure me that there are great families out there ! I love how y’all bringing up the young’ens and really enjoyed watching that young man jumping in, helping scrape hogs or whatever and being proud to do so !
Being house bound I really appreciate y’all carrying me back in time to the memories I have doing those very things. Enjoyed the vacation with y’all. One of you said America is beautiful and that’s so true. In my military days I was blessed to see a lot of country side. And I never take the freeway. The 2 lanes and dirt roads are great ! Lol

By the time he was ready and retired he was in his 70's and she said she was already too old and tired. I hate to confess we never went anywhere and now we are retired and don't want to either.
