This video makes me want to visit a nasty smelling ecological disaster some how. The drink & snack recommendations were a nice touch. Great video 👍🏼👍🏼. You’ve got yourself another new subscriber.
I have see all your videos since I started following you 6 month ago. And also older videos. And I must say that your videos just keeps getting better, video quality and the information in the videos. Thanks for everything you do and all the work you put into it for me to enjoy!
Soy un mexicano nacido en Culiacán Sinaloa pero tengo 30 años viviendo en Mexicali y la Laguna salada tiene conexión con sealton EEUU QUE bellezA allá acá en México es diferente
i fished there when i was a kid im 40 now, it was a great place to fish and the fish is called covina they can get up to 40 pounds they have teeth too lol i had family lived there back in the day great video brings back old memories thanks
i love that area. being from the great north wet( west) to be in the warm sun daily is Heaven to me i stayed for a couple months one winter at a state park on the east side of the sea.. loved it 😍
Daphne Van Zant 95 percent of California’s wetlands are gone so that pit stop for the birds is gone. They now use the salton sea plus once the the salton dries up dust storms filled with cancerous particles will spread all over the American Southwest
You're video is awesome. Keep doing great video regarding Salton sea. Soon the lake will revived it's beauty with the help of people like you as we recognize the place by watching your video. This will attract the tourist to visit Salton sea. God bless you.
WOW! I cant wait to take my family to this beauuuuutiful vacation spot that will for sure delight us with its "unique" attractions and atmosphere! My 10 year old is dying to look and admire the modern artwork these abandoned places have become, plus my wife cant count the days when she finally arrives at the International Banana Museum (IBM). Salton Sea .... here we cooooome!
50 years ago Salton Sea used to be a really good sport fishing lake. I've seen 25pound tilapia come out of that sewer. The towns around the sea used to have open air sewer canals not that long ago. Lets Eat!
Salton Sea is a interesting area. I hope the state can find a way to support to revive back the sea back to past time. This area host many unique animals found no where else on earth. It also imported to see how valuable this place is to our economy.
Visited this area Jan. 2019 and it was great, wish we had seen this video 1st but still saw many of these attractions. Bombay Beach was a trip and Salvation Mt. was cool.
Great job of showing us 24 hours there! We are going there over the Christmas / New Years holiday this year - will let you know what we think. Thanks for a great video!
Thanks for producing this film and sharing. I have driven through this area hundreds of times. I can remember being able to see the dinosaurs from the freeway but have never stopped there.
What needs to be done to the Salton Sea is a partition dam with a spill way. One side would become a salt lake, growing fresher over time, fed by ag runoff as always. The other side would become a Salt sump, perhaps the salt could be put to use by industry.
I've never been to the Salton Sea. But the date shakes are delicious. I used to get them on my way back to L.A. from Palm Springs. I definitely want to see Salvation Mountain.
This was a very good presentation for the Salton Sea... Thanks for making this video a positive representation, and giving the Salton Sea the attention it needs. I'm gonna have to check these things out next I roll through there! Great video!
Ok, I watched this video 3 years ago and since then I've been wanting to go to TKB Bakery and Deli. I went yesterday and it's delicious 😋. Definitely my new favorite place.
I’m surprised you didn’t speak about Congressman Sonny Bono for his massive conservation efforts at the Salton Sea in 1998. Thanks for sharing your experience at Saltón Sea
used to fish here back in the day. the salinity was identical to marine so for a while they were stocking alot of marine fish species like sierra mackerel (a small kind of spanish mackerel), sargo, corvina, various croakers like yellowfin, white, spotfin, even some flatfish and various marine invertebrates made it in there. it would be amazing if they can somehow reduce the salinity back to marine and clean it up because that was awesome. it quickly degraded after 2003
Thanks for all your info. Love your videos and because of them right now I am exploring San Diego Ca. I am originally from Mexicali BCMx. But I have not been back to San Diego until now. Happen to pass by Salton sea and right away started to research about it and I found your video!
Did you know the Salton Sea is in GTA5? Head north on the map to Sandy Shores. They even include Salvation Mountain, Abandon homes, trailer parks and the railway.
Great video! Thanks for featuring food. Is the date shake still there? This reminded me to post my Salton Sea roadtrip video. I actually camped on the shore...lol
Your presentation is top notch..mainstream media..move the heck over!! Subbed and Notification Squad-ed!! Haha Repping L.A. and Orange Counties here!! 💣💥🔥🔥🔥👊👊✌😎
You missed the mud pots and Obsidian Butte, considered an active volcano and its three sister volcanoes just off shore. Obsidian Butte does have obsidian, be careful it is sharper than a razor.
So there is nothing on the west side of the Salton Sea? Salton City, Desert Shores, etc? There are also two checkpoints around the Salton Sea. I think that should be included in travel videos bc it's pretty weird to international travelers and many people are affected by those.
I remember the Salton Sea from when it was the place to be. Summer of 68 a camping trip and I learn how to water ski was some good times back there and now it's so sad to see what has happen since then. The good news is this can be fixed if the State would put up the the money.
I have this weird obsession with the Salton Sea and soooo many questions...yes...Google IS my friend but yet I STILL can't process how this happened...and better yet...why the AF are we not fixing it!. THANK You for making it feel like a worthy place on our CA map. I feel a road trip coming on. :-)
The lake/stream/canal that feeds into the sea is filled with so much chemicals or pollutants that settled in the lake already. Just not possible to remove the toxins or bring it down to a safe level without spending an astronomical amount of money. We tested a tilapia from the sea last week, the mercury level is little over 7 times the safe limit.
Love this area, I want to go so badly on a roadtrip over in this part of the country. Btw, what gimbals are you using for the video footage, and are you using the Canon EOS 70D?
Hey, I didn't use any gimbal in this video, just stabilized it in Final Cut Pro, which is why it has the wobble effect. Thanks for the comment and have fun if you explore the area
Thanks for bringing positive attention to the Salton Sea. It is an amazing place and definitely needs more advocates!
Thanks for the comment, I do really enjoy visiting that area and encouraging others to do the same!
Thanks to GTA it feels like I've already been there even though I haven't
The chinese restaurant sign is still there in Desert Shores
No I get fallout vibes

Thanks Tommy, I really appreciate you saying that it means a lot!!
Well done and useful, deserving of many more views. Host is very pleasant, personable, and genuine - no contrived bs.

Daphne Van Zant yep they are toxic, back in the early 90s it was getting bad boy it was hot in the day time we always fished at night
i love that area. being from the great north wet( west) to be in the warm sun daily is Heaven to me i stayed for a couple months one winter at a state park on the east side of the sea.. loved it 😍
Save The Salton Sea! It's a very important stopover for migrating birds along the Pacific Flyway!
Daphne Van Zant 95 percent of California’s wetlands are gone so that pit stop for the birds is gone. They now use the salton sea plus once the the salton dries up dust storms filled with cancerous particles will spread all over the American Southwest
@Daphne Van Zant fixing a giant accident wont be cheap for sure
The Salton Sea combined with the nearby Salton Buttes Volcano helped create the geothermal features
You're video is awesome.

I've been wanting to go here since I was little it's always fascinated me but I live in Alberta so it's taken a while of saving
I have been there several times as early as 1985. If you are like decay this is the place for you. It's the Sea of Broken Dreams in a sense.
I saw many Canadian camping here in the winter, and summer theyd gone

Watch the 1985 movie "PeeWee's Big Adventure"....watch for the dinosaurs!
I've been there a few times but never knew about these other stops, thanks again for another great video! I'll have to check those stops out next time
What needs to be done to the Salton Sea is a partition dam with a spill way. One side would become a salt lake, growing fresher over time, fed by ag runoff as always. The other side would become a Salt sump, perhaps the salt could be put to use by industry.
A feature you did not mention would be the 'Mud Volcanoes' on the SE side. The 'Sea' is indeed fascinating and well below sea level.
Yea, that is a great spot as well! Thanks for the comment
Mud Volcanos are closed off to the public now
Wonderful way to view a place.
RIP Lenard Knight. Thank you for your building of Salvation Mt. I've seen your story on Huel Howser's California Gold & I appreciated your enthusiasm.
As a church-goer, I'd certainly enjoy Salvation Mountain. And I'm curious about those date shakes. Good video.
Thanks, I appreciate it!
I've never been to the Salton Sea. But the date shakes are delicious. I used to get them on my way back to L.A. from Palm Springs. I definitely want to see Salvation Mountain.

Thanks Ian, I appreciate the comment!

@Daphne Van Zant it was Hell on Earth 122 in the day! never again in the summer
Ok, I watched this video 3 years ago and since then I've been wanting to go to TKB Bakery and Deli. I went yesterday and it's delicious 😋. Definitely my new favorite place.
Thank you, I was searching info bout the Salvation Mountain. Great Trip.
I don't think the Salton Sea is the place for a picnic, but paraphrasing the late Huwell Howser, it is quite unique in beauty.
I’m surprised you didn’t speak about Congressman Sonny Bono for his massive conservation efforts at the Salton Sea in 1998. Thanks for sharing your experience at Saltón Sea
The food looks great!
Great video, awesome place to visit,I love the Salton Sea , this is a place you need to come see in real life for your self

I heard tilapia fishing is still good and plentiful out there
Will be taking a road trip that includes driving up from Yuma to Joshua Tree - thanks for the tips!
Thanks for all your info. Love your videos and because of them right now I am exploring San Diego Ca. I am originally from Mexicali BCMx. But I have not been back to San Diego until now. Happen to pass by Salton sea and right away started to research about it and I found your video!

I am very surprised that you passed up east Jesus! Sits right next to slab city, an excellent artists community, better than slab city!
great video man i would love to visit the area
Salton Sea is really out in the middle of no where, but its not so far away that it can't be done, will definitely be visiting at some point :)
Thank you for creating & sharing. Nicely done. I'm subscribing.
Great video! Thanks for featuring food. Is the date shake still there? This reminded me to post my Salton Sea roadtrip video. I actually camped on the shore...lol
Going here in 2 weeks great video really helped me figure out how to plan my trip
How was your trip?
@@tcg_goon6291 trip was great! Was lots of fun exploring the Salton Sea area. Thanks for asking!
I’ve always wondered about that place. Thanks for sharing, but WOW! That’s a hot mess!
really dug your video, my dude. I just booked a campsite in an almost completely empty campground. Very excited to get out there and explore a bit.
I always Felt so curious about this place because of the Indie MOVIE "Little Birds". Thanks for your tour. Amazing place!! Saludos from Brazil!
Great video! You really showed the area well.
Thanks! It is a unique place for sure but worth exploring

Thanks for the info Josh. On my to-do list is to actually stay at Slab City after dark. Heard it's a total trip!

Withe the sea cleaned up and refilled, this place would be another Palm Springs
Well done but you missed the Salton Butte mud pools. Is the trout farm still out there?
I remember the Salton Sea from when it was the place to be. Summer of 68 a camping trip and I learn how to water ski was some good times back there and now it's so sad to see what has happen since then. The good news is this can be fixed if the State would put up the the money.
Thank you. Really informative.
Been there as a child with my family
Good video. I think I’ll sit this one out, mate...
Good video::: If you can, please post another version of this video, but without background-music. thanks. K.S.
Great video, but you forgot the Bombay Beach Drive-in Movie Theatre. I got invited by the locals to watch a movie and have carne asada tacos=)
