    Man, I thought that Rufus Shinra of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was a really tough boss. The dude had a counter for everything and the only opening he had was during his “reload” animation which was a really small window.

      Yes! And then he brings out Darkstar. I learned in that battle (reading up a guide for the fight) that I had the energy wave with my sword, a move I NEVER knew I had before then, and so by rolling and then pressing square, you could hit him with non-elemental magic. It did little to no damage, but increasednyour ATB guage. Darkstar thankfully had more weaknesses, so I was able to take him out after like my third attempt at the fight (where I lived long enough for Darkstar to even come out, that is). The game cruelly makes you do that fight with NO chance to heal right after fighting Elena and Rude (and yes, I know about the square button at the bottom-left corner during cutscenes that you can press and hold to signal you want to change your materia and whatnot. None is given for Rufus' fight).
      As I initially ended that fight with low HP and MP and had to spend a lot of time on defense, I finally had to just give up and redo the Elena and Rufus battle all over again, this time making Tifa and Aerith use their magic instead of Cloud, and using an elemental materia on Cloid's sword to pull back on how much magic I had to do. I think I gave lightning magic to Cloud and used the second elemental materia for Tifa to handle Rude. I had hoped he would treat her as he did in Remake, his crush on her making him reluctant to hurt her, but nope! 😂. I see business comes before women now for him, lol.
      Or maybe that was Aerith he was gentle with...either way, neither of them got any mercy.

    I remember my Yiazmat run on the original version of XII for PS2. It took 8 hours, max level, Vaan with Zodiac Spear, Basch with the Scorpiontail and Zodiac Escutcheon, Fran with Sagittarius and Artemis Arrows, Balthier with the Fomalhaut and Dark Shot, Ashe with the Masamune and Penelo with the Yagyu Darkblade as Yiaz is weak to Dark. I usually had her maining Greatswords and wanted to give her the Wyrmhero Blade. Everyone used Bubble Belts to increase their health, spammed Expose to lower his defence early on, equipped the strongest armours I could purchase, but kept 3 Windbreakers on hand for when he started charging his bloody cyclone attack. I did run out once to recover after nearly getting wiped when he started inflicting Death with his combo attacks, and started using Decoy+Reverse to carry once he limited damage to 6999. I kept a Dispelling eye out for him using Regen and was wary to use Curaga over Full-Cure in case he tried to Reflect it onto himself. I don't know how I'll go with the Zodiac Job version, as I want to do a challenge playthrough trying to mimic each character's playstyles and job skills from Revenant Wings, so Vaan will be using swords, Penelo staves as a White Mage, Basch axes and shields, Fran and Balthier as Archer and Gunner, and Ashe tossing bombs as a Time Mage.

    • @Kiridiana
      @Kiridiana 7 месяцев назад

      Hes still just as hard just doesnt take as long due to the x4 speed u can put the game into. Defo worth playing zodiac age though. i killed him just using Vaan/Basch as damage and Ashe as a healer took me about an hr

    • @necroarcanistxiii
      @necroarcanistxiii 7 месяцев назад

      @@Kiridiana I used everyone, but swapped in when someone died and revived them off-screen. I've seen a speedrun of under 50 minutes in real time, Zodiac seems to be insanely OP when you grind and RNG manipulate for the best stuff, but I do not have the patience or the gummy bears to handle that. I grinded for stuff in the original FF12 until my playtime was 210 hours, and that was just to complete the Sky Pirate's Den.
      I'm close to cracking a code for the Revenant Wings challenge run, as true to the spirit, each character will only be using what weapons and armour they can use in RW that exist in Zodiac.
      The hardest part is figuring out X Job for Y License for Z equipment, and then figuring out which Licenses are locked behind which Esper, which I only need Mateus for Ashe to get the Volcano bomb.
      Vaan can easily get Durendal as a Knight, Ultima Blade was his ultimate in RW but it's a greatsword in XII and Zodiac.
      Gigas Chestplate he can get as a Machinist, Monk, Archer or Shikari, and I'm tossing up Monk for Augments or Machinist for Steal/Poach as Vaan is a Thief in RW. He also wears Boots as accessories in RW, with Germinas being his best available pair.
      Penelo is a White Mage in RW, so that's her primary, but her weapons are Staves, which are Black Mage only. Since Nirvana isn't a thing in Zodiac, she's geting the Golden Staff, along with Gaia Gear. Her RW accessory is Armlets, which the Rose Corsage counts as, immunity to Silence will be a great asset to the main healer.
      Fran keeps her Archer class, and will easily get Sagittarius, the Duelling Mask, and the Minerva Bustier without issue. For her subclass I'm thinking Red Mage for some debuffs and exclusive access to Arcane Magick. Since her RW gear is all armour, her accessory slot is free game.
      Balthier has to be a Machinist or Shikari to get the Fomalhaut, and it's a toss for the Monk or Shikari to get Brave Suit. His RW accessory is Rings, so I'm setting on the Renewal Ring.
      Ashe is a Time Mage in RW but that will be her secondary class, I'll start her as Black Mage to get access to bombs. The Volcano is available to Black Mages if they get Mateus. Glimmering Robes is available to Red, White and Black Mages, and the Bushi, and her ultimate Necklace happens to be the Ribbon.
      Basch working as a Tanky Paladin of sorts will work as a Knight / Foebreaker maining Excalibur but switching to Save the Queen for fights like Yiazmat, since he absorbs Holy. He will wear Maximilian and Grand Helm, opening his accessory slot up for options.

      Yeah Leviathan is annoying as hell. It expects near button perfection and tactics you never use anywhere else. One of the criticisms of FF16 is that it's on the whole too easy. With the 2 DLCs they saw a chance to adress that and placate the people who wanted more of a challenge. They got it right the first time with Echoes of the Fallen which is more difficult than the main game but ultimately perfectly achievable for anyone who beat the main game if they apply a bit more focus but then went too far with Leviathan in The Rising Tide and lost sight of the fact that it should still be doable for the rest of us since it isn't an optional fight but necesary to finish the story of the DLC.

    Came here to see all the "Kefka is so easy!" comments, and didn't disappoint... but he /is/ that hard. "I used an exploit" and "I taught everyone all the best spells with Three Stars and Genji+Master Scroll" means you had to grind out all those abilities and farm all the items, proving that he was hard. You needed all the stuff to win. :p

    • @johnwarner4178
      @johnwarner4178 7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes and no. I didn’t “grind,” so while I did use some good combos that happened naturally. Kefka would only make this list for people dojng some kind of low level challenge

    • @KitsuneSoup
      @KitsuneSoup 7 месяцев назад

      @@johnwarner4178 Define "happened naturally" in this case. I'm not saying you did it deliberately, but even playing the game in a non-perfect game, using the mechanics to do things like Speed+ from Odin and other magicite bonuses does "naturally" teach you the best spells.
      Kefka makes sense because he's the only real end boss in FF that gives a challenge that /doesn't/ require a specific setup (Cloud of Darkness) or isn't designed to punish leveling/progression (Yu Yevon, Ultimicia). Adamantoise XV and Yizmat aren't hard, they're time consuming. Pandemonium Watcher and Absolute Virtue aren't hard, they're deliberate gimmick fights that are changed every time a way to kill them is found. Nothing in XIII or VII-Re is hard, they seem that way because of a false difficulty curve based on the Break System. When you look at the bosses that are mechanically hard in their own game, that's why you get Kefka, Omega, some Bahamut (Bahamuts? Bahamuti?), Ozma, keep showing up on these lists.

      Verce actually wasn't that tough for me, granted he was a bit tedious because my strategies drew the fight out, but i'd completed literally every other Cie'th hunt before him, too. I'd put Neochu as worse simply coz of how BS he can be even if you've completed all up to him. Gigantaur was a prick, too, pun not intended, but he wouldn't stop Dazing everyone with the 100,000 he was covered in.
      Cid was a tiny bit of a BS boss, he was the 3nd story boss I'd died to (Barthandelus was the second coz I didn't know you had to attack him during Destrudo's charge up to weaken the attack until I watched DarkKefka's video on Hardest FF Storyline Bosses. Even with a maxed Crystarium at the time, Sentinels didn't block a whole lot of damage. Shiva was first coz I missed the memo about what to do when the gauge was full and I didn't press X in time.)
      As for Long Gui, yeah, fair call. 13-2's version was a joke compared to the original. It wasn't an absolute train wreck when I had my Adamantoises upgraded as I'd practised on the one stomping about Eden until I had a strategy that didn't rely on Death. By the time I had unlocked the Gui I was clearing 'toise corner in about 3 minutes per run.

    There is an additional recommended method way to beat Ruby in ff7 in addition to coming into the fight with only one-party member and with the knights of the round table. You have to equip the materia in a way that gives you auto life every time you get knocked out. I remember on the PlayStation 1 I had to experiment with the different combinations of equipping materia.
    Also, to my knowledge the Dread Behemoth in ffxv still does appear but only certain times. Not sure about anyone else but I still have creatures that appeared in the timed events still randomly appear so I can get food ingredients. Also also, Omega from ffxv is one boss I am still trying to figure out and I'm curious on how many other people are having trouble or had trouble with it and any advice would be very helpful.

    I think minerva from crisis core was the hardest boss i ever fought simply because if you made a mistake she could one shot you even with max stats and sure the fight is only about 45 minutes with her 77,777,777 hp but its the being one shot after taking 3/4 of her hp by a move that does 99,999 and removes reraise status just cause i was abit to far and didn't break her out of her special move that was brutal. I mean yea an 18 hour flight is annoying but if the boss is doing pitiful damage the whole time its not any kind of special fight it's just an unpaid internship shift.

    Whoaboy, the amount of "Um, akshually!" I'm seeing in the comments is laughable 😂. Guys, it's fine if you found something easy, but not everyone is you! Many others may have found a boss hard and so they've earned at least somewhat of a reputation for their difficulty. Not everyone is a "pro gamer". And if your preferred boss is missing, do you TRULY think a long-in-the-tooth series like Final Fantasy can REALLY have all of its hardest bosses condensed down to just 10? This is a topic that is good for multiple videos, the subject WILL be revisited...if this isn't already a sequel! If you didn't see a boss you preferred, don't be childish and complain, just offer it up as a suggestion for next time or go find if they've talked about this subject before.
    Except for maybe the videos with Jules, I see that every, and I do mean EVERY other video they do, even the podcast, has the most whiniest people I have ever seen for a channel 😂. Yeesh!

    Omega is pretty hard in 15

    • @BewareTheLilyOfTheValley
      @BewareTheLilyOfTheValley 7 месяцев назад

      Eh. I'm not going to say he isn't, but because I went in at max level (which I think was 120?) and had enough potions and whatnot, he wasn't too much of a challenge, in my eyes. I don't remember exactly what I did, but I learned a pattern with him and the pattern may have also included taking damage from an attack I didn't know how to block or evade. Then, someone else healed Noctis and I just juggled the fight.
      Omega in FF XVI's first DLC was much harder for me, but I think I still beat it first try, but by the absolute skin of my teeth. I hate that the award for it is getting a sword that 99.9% of us will find useless because we've already beaten the game. I'm using it to juat cleave through everything quickly and just mostly enjoy the story again, my favorite part of any FF game.

      I think they were going for 10 different games and 10 different bosses.
      Because Omega could easily come up again for FF14 as well with its own Ultimate. And hell, aside from the dev bs of Absolute Virtue, 14 alone would top an entire list of 10.

    • @NoMansSkyResources
      @NoMansSkyResources 7 месяцев назад

      Incorrect. Most have specific strategies needed, loads are on a timer & FF8 exists, in which grinding is the worst thing you could possibly do.

    • @paigemalloy4276
      @paigemalloy4276 6 месяцев назад

      Lol I'll absolutely concede your point about other games, but you can COMPLETELY break FF8 by grinding. Spend a couple of hours drawing hundreds of spells, refine them into _stronger_ spells, add those onto the appropriate stats and BOOM. You're at 9999 health by the time you get to Trabia Garden 👍✨

    • @NoMansSkyResources
      @NoMansSkyResources 6 месяцев назад

      @@paigemalloy4276 See, grinding typically means fighting lots of enemies. Enemies scale in FF8. Fighting enemies that you don't have to in ff8 makes the game much harder & if you fully level up before certain boss fights happen, you make those fights nearly impossible.
      Yeah, just avoiding battles & drawing magic can make things much easier; however, the game is very good at limiting access to more powerful spells until needed; so you can never be truely overpowered until you've got full access to everywhere on the world map, quite late in the game.

    • @NoMansSkyResources
      @NoMansSkyResources 6 месяцев назад

      There is not a way to get to 9999 health before Trabia Garden. No combination of refining & available magic using GFs available before that point will get you that high & certainly not in other stats.

    This is a great list! Hard disagree on Kefka tho (unless he was buffed in the pixel remaster) he dies pretty easily if you have a decent team, I would have changed him for other boss.
    Seeing the critteria for this video I would assume that the choices are restricted to 1 entry per game and needs to have some infamy in FF history, so I'll pick Cloud of Darkness from FF3.
    You had to do hard ass dungeon and fight 5 bosses before Cloud of Darkness who'll only spam Particles Beam to your entire party and if you die you had to do the dungeon all over again.
    This was so hard that a lot of japaneses complain about it back in the day, the same japanesed that didn't want to ship overseas FF5 because they thought the game was too hard for us westernies...
