First ever Mongolian state appeared in 20th century. Before 20th century Mongolians had neither their own state, nor their own army. What historians are referring to as Mongolian Empire, actually was a Russian-Tatar empire. Tatars are Europeans. Tatar ethnos originated on the northern coast of Black Sea.
Asia was colonized by Volga Tatars. Many Asian tribes in the process of colonization lost their languages and switched to one or other dialect of Tatar language. After the defeat in a civil war, an old regime horde moved to Central Asia and it also contributed to spreading of Tatar language into Asia.

Meat-eating Mongols were probably a huge factor when Genghis Khan expanded his empire. Some historians discuss the fact that Mongol soldiers were superior to Chinese soldiers because the Mongols ate a diet with high-quality meat and fat, making them strong and healthy. The Chinese soldiers were fed mostly rice which made them weaker. Also, the Mongolian soldiers ate a lot of raw meat and did not have to prepare food during wartime, which also gave them an advantage on the battlefield.
That was not a raw meat, that was a “Borts” it’s cold air dried meat. Borts is more nutritious, and said to be tastier, than other modern field rations. You wonder if the world might have been different without losing a hundred thousand warriors or even double that on the way to Japan. Who knows how powerful they would've become after conquering the entire Asian region and even slightly beyond that. As every area they conquered, that countries people were forced to join their army.
I just want to add that defining Genghis Khan into "Mongol" or Mongolian and defining Jin, Song, Tangut into Chinese deviate from the authentic history during that time. The term Mongol & Chinese did not exist during that time.
There was no Russia at the time buddy. It was Russ, it wasn't the size of Russia and it was a bunch of little kingdoms that hated each other. The Russ wouldn't lift a finger to help the other neighbors and one by one they felt, but even so their small little kingdoms gave the Mongols a run for their money. If Russ was united the Mongols would had probably failed.
Oh really? Then what do you make of the facts that Mongols had successfully annihilated and brought down highly civilised and military powerful Empires like Khwarazm and whole Chinese kingdoms. They weren’t just tiny little kingdoms like Rus and Ukrainian principles. Yet these countries fielded way more soldiers than entire Mongol population in that time and age.
Kublai Khan was never the great Khan. In fact he was a fat lazy failure. But had a mind for technologies. He needed the help of Mongke Khan to defeat China. It was Mongke who was "great Khan". Plenty of other mistakes as well. But that was the most glaring. And it was an overall, a good accounting. Funny how the mighty Hulegu' and Batu Khans were barely mentioned. Both were the spearheads of most of their greatest expansions.
Imagine living in peace and prosperity never knowing war or hardship surrounded by your loved ones and then suddenly there's screaming and shouting and sounds of fighting and people running in panic and everything you ever knew about life turns out to be wrong.

So you're saying they lost because their ships were made in China?😅
@@kazkaskazkas8689 Chinese fleets didn't even land in japan, they didn't want to help the mongols attack japan. Those who invaded japan were the mongol and korean fleets in the north.
Thank for this history
I need to thank you im a mongolian you guys make the best history videos
That was really great.. thanks for the good piece of history ❤
Again another great video!
TBH never knew they were that savage to takeover lands. I can’t imagine being the invaded, sleeping and suddenly a bunch of strong men claim the place I earned.
We can not imagine it, different times!
Happened fairly recently actually.
Don't think they were more savage than the Roman legions ; the Greek phalanx; the Persian immortals or the Arab raiders........
The mongols couldnt advance into europe as they quickly realized european castles will destroy them. That and the european landmass are mostly forested which is unsuitable for mongol cavalry.
@@ibashcommunists6847 well they encountered the same environment in india and after a few setbacks they ( chagatai; timur ; mughals .... ) managed to take over the territory.
Excellent presentation 👏👏👏👏
Enjoyed
these pictures are so good
Crazy how he carried the game so hard and his teammates couldn't drop any elims
fascinating history. mesmerizing artwork.
Please make a video about tengri and this is a very informative video about the mongols
After the Mongol defeat in the battle of Ayn Jalut by the Mamluk Turks their expansion was stopped. And this the turning point of their downfall.
The Nirun Mongols included the following tribes: Adarkin, Artakan, Arulat, Baarin, Barlas, Borjigin, Bugunut, Budaat, Belgunut, Besut, Geniges, Jadaran, Joureid, Dzhurkin, Duglat, Durben, Kilingut (incl. Kilingut-Tarkhan) , Kingiyat, Kiyat, Kunjin, Mangut, Nir-khoyin, Noyokhon, Oronar, Saljiut, Sijiut, Sukan, Sukanut, Sunit, Tayzhiut, Ujiet, Urut, Khabturkhas, Khatagin, Khonkhotan, Chanshiut, Chonos, Yasar, etc. Darlekin group Mongols consisted of such tribes as Arulat[19], Bayat, Bugunut[20], Belgunut[20], Gorlos, Jalair, Ikires, Ildurkin, Kilingut[19] (including Kilingut-Tarkhan[19]), Kingit (Geniges)[ 19], kunjin[19], kunkliut, nokhos, olkhonut, suldus, uryankhai, uryaut (oronar)[19], ushin, haranut, khongirat, khonkhotan[19], eljigin, etc.
The empire of Genghis Khan included not only the indigenous Mongols, but also all the other Mongol-speaking tribes of the region: Bargut, Bekrin, Bulagachin, Dzhungurkin, Karakitai, Kereit, Kurlaut, Kem-Kemdzhiut, Kushtemi, Keremuchin, Merkit, Naiman, Oirat, Ongut, Sakait, Tangut, Tatars, Telengut, Tulas, Uymakut, Urasut, Khoyin-Irgen, Khoyin-Urianka, Khori-Tumat (Khori and Tumat), etc.
Jalair mongols are the ancestors of the khalkha mongols, the tribal majority of today’s mongolia.
It’s just wild how similar nomadic mongolians were to native Americans
That's their ancestors.
Same root in Siberia. Huns had close relations with native americans(Dené-Eniseian)
Amazing artwork !
at the time was Mongols under 1 Million. But China war very strong and over 50 Millions. But Chingis Khan had good IQ.
at that time, China was divided under Western Xia, Western Liao, Jurchen Jin, Dali kingdom and Song Dynasty,
when Mongol fought Song Dynasty, also they also have the help of other Turks, Muslims or Northern Chinese, so it is not simply 1 millions against 50 millions,
and the Great Khan Mongke was even killed by the Song soldiers during the siege of Diaoyu city,
@@Emilechen At this time were Mongols too divided. There were many small parts of nomads and Mongols didn´t get help of anyone. Munkh Khan killed not by Song soldiers. His bruder Khubilai Khan killed him.
@@chekoenkh8549 at that time China was even more divided:
Wester Liao, Western Xia, Jim Dynasty, Song Dynasty, Dali Kingdom,
many people are impressed by the conquest of Mongol Empire in 13th century, building the biggest empire,
but in my opinion, this kind of conquest doesn't last, the best for the Mongols is to do what Dzungur Mongol Empires does:
unify Mongolia, Xinjiang and Tibet first, than spends several centries to consolidate and create a commun identity, based on Tibetan Buddhism,
if the Mongols manage to do that, todya Mongolia will still be a powerhouse in Asia,
just like Japan before WWII, if Japan has stopped when Japan has already Korea, Taiwan, Manchuria and Pacific islands, then spedn decades to absorb them, Japan will become number 1 in Asia,
when China remained divided, ita coastlines dominated by Japan,
Mongols and Japanese invaded a divided China, destroyed the different kingdoms and factions in China, but it is not a wise strategy, since they need to face a emerging unified Ming Dynasty and Communist China later,
so the Anglo-Saxon's strategy of dividing Europe, but not conquering it, seems to be more realistic,
@@Emilechen wrong its even below 1million , they dont let the civilian fight lol ! the mongols always mobilized an army of 40,000 at his best lol.

This would make an amazing tv series

Epic Documentary. The mongols were, evidently, fierce nomads. Some say The Great Wall of China was built to ward them off
@@Endgame707 I didn't know that. Thanks 🙏
@@hoseakiruii Great Wall was not build by China, if you look at the wall, all santinels faces China. Arrows spaces faces China, and so on.
I hope you start including Hindu gods and mythology and shine a light upon it coz many people don't know about it/are ignorant towards it, but it's actually a lot fascinating and complicated but in an interesting manner.
Kinda like Kama ?
The Mongolians ability to move as a unit played a major roll in their abilities.
You wonder if the world might have been different without losing a hundred thousand warriors or even double that on the way to Japan. Who knows how powerful they would've become after conquering the entire Asian region and even slightly beyond that. As every area they conquered, that countries people were forced to join their army.
Who is the Fantastic illustrator that did all the drawings?

The greatest advantage the Mongols had was the fact they were nomadic.
I suddenly want to play aoe2 again. This is where my fascination with the mongols began.
Nice one but the video was too brief as there were so many events that led to the downfall of this empire
You didn't mention mangoles are stopped by Mamaalik in Egypt, a famous battle called Aynu-Jalut.🤔🤔🤔that was a turning point of TATAR.
He focused on their wins & not on their Demise 🤔.
In 1260 Egypt strong Mamluks defeated and destroyed the Mongols army in Palestine.
The mongol reign fascinates me. Thank you for the video.
Does anyone know who the picture at 04:41 is from? Looks amazing
Probably in Mongolia
That prob proves the quote
"Hard times create good men, good men create good Times, good times create weak men and weak men." create Bad times
The Mongol nomadic way of life is almost identical to the Lakota plains tribes. Except we hunted buffalo and lived in hide tipi’s.
Strange how we've never heard the White Romans referred to as a terror.... I guess they were just angels uniting the world 😒
I just want to add that defining Genghis Khan into "Mongol" or Mongolian and defining Jin, Song, Tangut into Chinese deviate from the authentic history during that time. The term Mongol & Chinese did not exist during that time.
When he uses bannerlord graphics 😍😂
No surprise they're the worst faction to fight against
Ogedai's heart attack really spared the course of Europe's history.

The US military doctrine today is ‘we do deserts, we don’t do mountains’ but the Mongols still conquered Persia/Iran
Where were these illustrations gotten from
Legend has it that the typhoon that wiped out the mongols the first time was actually a rogue samurai referred to as "the ghost"

Wow, I can see this was the inspiration for the Dothraki in Game of Thrones
The Mongols were nomadic barbarians , great achievements what they they did against more accomplished countries.
@@Toroonoo1 ñu⅞ 8th0
@@Toroonoo1 the Rus and Ukrainian principalities, in fact, when united, are much stronger than other civilizations.
@@masterbalay Then that’s prove my point even more innit
Kublai Khan was never the great Khan. In fact he was a fat lazy failure. But had a mind for technologies. He needed the help of Mongke Khan to defeat China. It was Mongke who was "great Khan". Plenty of other mistakes as well. But that was the most glaring. And it was an overall, a good accounting. Funny how the mighty Hulegu' and Batu Khans were barely mentioned. Both were the spearheads of most of their greatest expansions.
