Great information as always thanks for sharing the video... I have a 21 M 1000 RR and shortly after they replaced my Cam chain tensioner 7 miles on the bike and the motor let go fortunately BMW covered everything under warranty but it seemed awful suspect thoughts on this... I'm sure this is an isolated case but thought I'd share...
1) Zak is just awesome. Been watching him work on these vlogs for a while now, and he is knowledgeable and helpful every time. 2) Nice design on the tensioner. Makes things a lot easier. Nice one BMW. 🙂
Watch a cam chain tensioner fail after refitting it on my Insta, after fitting new head gasket etc on my 23y/o bike. I guess the old thing was gone, and resetting it was the last straw, £120 for a new one, so still can't ride for now as the work I just done has skint me out lol
On my 1st gen XR I switched to a mechanical tensioner and have since done that on all my bikes. I don't see a reason to have a spring-loaded one with extra moving parts when it isn't necessary.
Why is the BMW so noisy with rattle from the timing chain area ? mine is a 2022 they say it's normal but I don't like it because I don't hear a R1 or any other bike timing chain area noise
Might as well leave it there ready for the camshaft recall next. 1500 miles on my 22 and the camshafts have multiple cracks in them. Horrific bike for reliability!

Bikes built early Feb 22 and before, no recall for mine when I checked it the other day, mine was built in March.
My Yamaha xsr has a cam chain tensioner issue. It rattles and sounds like shit, I was told it’s not an issue? 🤷♂️
