Yesi Ho hi，no i didn’t skip this step, it keeps the cake moist, just mix the normal sugar with hot water and put it on the cake with a brush/spoon, it’s simple and good.

Mine weighed 185g. I didn't put that info as it's quite subjective
i dont usually add in egg yolks to rainbow cakes coz sometimes when you add colors to it, it wont be the same when baked.
