Sitting in Estraperlo eating the Patatas Bravas as I write this. They are delicious, and the owner couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. Wonderful spot, definitely worth the walk. Thanks to Patrick for the great videos to enhance my Barcelona experience
Great series of videos, we binge watched prior to our visit and picked up loads of great info. We loved Estraperlo, got a great seat at the bar, great patatas bravas and a couple of fantastic craft beers. Thank you.
Hey Patrick, we are out from Canada and tonight we tried the Patatas Bravas at Estraperlo Barceloneta. Thanks so much for the recommendation, they were awesome --both kinds! We really enjoy your videos, and they were a huge help in planning our time here in Barcelona. Thanks, man!
Visited Bar Leo, Bar Electricitat, and Estraperlo. I had Papas Bravas at three different places (including in Seville) and for sure Estraperlo had the best, softest papas. Was a bit disappointed that there was no longer outdoor seating, but the vibe inside was good. The Vermouth de la casa was a good deal. Thanks for showing us these places. Made our visit an easy one to plan out.
Cool video, one of the few that's dedicated solely to the Barceloneta neighbourhood. Looking forward to visiting it again in a few weeks. I've been to La Cova Fumada and Bar Leo, need to try some of the other places.
Great video, we were in Barcelona last year and loved La Cova Fumada. We are coming back next year and look forward to checking out the Bravas at Estraperlo and the vermouth at bar Leo.
I haven't been to Barceloneta since 1968. It really seems to have smartened up since then. I hope it hasn't been ruined as I liked the place all those years ago.
We were in Barcelona last week (March 23) and just because of this video we visited Estraperlo, where we also tried both versions of Patatas Bravas. The spicy red sauce was just right! I like it spicy when I eat it, but not burning all over my mouth for minutes afterwards. The aioli was great too, but the "black aioli" was just delicious! Unfortunately, we only got there on the last day of our vacation, otherwise we would have definitely gone more often. Thanks for the tip!
I enjoy watching your videos! If possible, could you video/explain the ordering and settling the bill process at a tapas bar? We're heading there summer 2023 and I find myself intimidated to enter these types of places because I don't know the protocol. For example, when in Ireland, we learned it was best to order at the bar and then seat ourselves instead of being seated and served. Thanks!
Hi Elizabeth! Thank you for the support! Love this question and actually got a similar on about ordering foods in Barcelona. Will definitely look into creating a video about it. Thank you!
We will have our 13 year-old son with us when we travel to Barcelona in December. Is he allowed in places with us like bars, clubs, or places that serve alcohol? I'm especially curious about some of the day trips to a vineyard, but didn't want to bother if he can't come with us. I am loving all your videos. Thank you!
Hi Patrick we almost ready to start our trip to Barcelona! Thanks for sharing this video. We will tried this recommendation as soon we get to Barcelona. See you soon.
Patrick, what is this drink that you all shared just prior to you leaving Electricitat in the video? It looks like chocolate milk but it probably isn’t…
Thanks for another interesting video Patrick. It made my Sunday. Vermut is my drink of choice whenever I visit Barcelona. Haven't really explored Barceloneta. But will do so next time I visit. 👍🙂
I love your Vlogs! I’m heading out of the country for my first time ever and I am going to Barcelona. I am deathly allergic to milk and eggs and I’m scared of ordering food in a different country. It is very scary for me. Do you have any recommendations on good spots that have allergy precautions or any advice on how to say what I’m allergic to so I don’t have to be in the hospital lol 😂 thank you!! 😃😃🎉🎉
Hi Gabby! Very much appreciate it! Love this question and actually got a similar on about ordering foods in Barcelona. Will definitely look into creating a video about it. Thank you!
Loved this video! Was in Barceloneta last night, but definitely didn't have the best bravas. Tho I realized I really like vermut! So far my favorite bravas are from Bodega La Palma in Gotico.
Great video! However, the reason you only have 71 upvotes (as of 01 DEC '22) is because there is no recipe and no footage of the preparation. Only those who might reasonably expect to visit this restaurant (a relatively _miniscule_ number) might value this video, whereas if you documented the _actual food preparation_ your upvotes would skyrocket. Thanks!

Say hello! Very happy to help! Enjoy!!
@@PatrickGuideBarcelona I mentioned your RUclips channel and they seemed appreciative.
Patrick. You are absolutely right! I’m in Barcelona and Estrapelo has the best patatas hands down. Thanks for the video and recommendation!
You’re welcome Brad! Glad you enjoyed them!
Your RUclips videos were a brilliant resource for us last week Patrick - helped us make the most of an unforgettable week in BCN!
Glad to hear it! Thanks a lot

@@PatrickGuideBarcelona We had a hard time deciding. The black garlic ones edged out the win, but barely!

Appreciate it Mick, I’d love to do some more videos in the area, it’s really a special place

Thank you! You’ll love Estraperlo
THANKS FOR SHARING😋👍🏿

It has changed a lot since 1968! Do you have a trip planned. It would be interesting to see what you think

Bars and restaurants wouldn’t be a problem. But you can’t bring kids in the club
More food videos, please 😊 I had such a hard time deciding where to eat last time I was there. There's such an overwhelming amount of choices.
Ai ai Captain! More food videos to come
Thanks
Thank you Richard!

Haha. Definitely not chocolate milk. It was Vermouth
La de la verguenza is a Filipino thing too hahaha.
Quines enveja hem feu !! Jo soc de la Barceloneta... però també et recomano , ca'n Tomàs, a Sarrià 👍
Bar Tomas 😍 stay tuned!!

Please have a look Patrick! It doesn’t like vermouth to me.
Orujo!
I've seen people cut la de la vergüenza into smaller and smaller pieces until everyone is ashamed of the tiny piece thats left xD
Haha. Thats another strategy
Most Barcelona food videos are underwhelming. Worried my trip to Barcelona might end up being a culinary dud.
