As a woman who worked at a BSA camp for many years back when women could only participate in Venturing and Sea Scouts, my experience was very similar! Down to my dad being Scout Master when I was a kid and being wildly jealous. So when the opportunity came up to work as staff at camp, I jumped on it, and it was the best decision I have ever made in my life. Keep at it girls! I'm so glad that you all have the chances I didn't get!
Wow Mable! I really enjoyed your talk! You have a talent for public speaking. I hope you will keep working on your skill, so that you can incorporate it into your career path! One of my all time favorite classes was in communication. I never knew how much fun it is to learn great communication skills or how complex it is! Keep up the good work sweetheart! Love, Gigi
Really good Mable! Great presentation and presentation skills! I had never really thought about this before - as a "boy scout" in the UK (we just call the male part "Scouts" and female part "Girl Guides") I was aware that they have a different "curriculum" but never really thought about how that was restricting opportunity to gain skills and do fun activities. I was a scout leader (actually a sea scout leader, so our troop specialized in water activities) in all age groups and was also the equivalent of an Eagle Scout (in the UK we are Queen's Scouts - and we get presented to the Queen, which is pretty fab). I really hope you go on succeed in gaining that exalted rank. Well done!
Hi even though this is a bit late I just want to say that you're killing it! I'm also a girl in the BSA, its not easy but its super fun! I hope you make it to eagle on your scouting journey :)
This was wonderful and very well said! My daughter joined in 2020 as a tiger scout and will cross over in the spring. We will be starting a girl's troop from scratch. I love seeing other young ladies for her to look up to in her scouting journey!

Very well spoken and enjoyed Mable's humor throughout. Love the positivity!
