It would be creepy tbh. Like imagine being the appa guy and wondering the the hell just happen to that teenage boy, one second he's talking normally then the next second he spaces out and then starts having a mental breakdown.
Maybe from his perspective he only saw it once if the checkpoint is the exact same time. When Subaru went to mental breakdown the first time a few seconds after the checkpoint, and then restart from the checkpoint again, the first mental breakdown wouldn't happen from anyone else's perspective
@@zizzors9314 He has two checkpoints there. Once before meeting Emilia and once when shopping with Rem. He probably seemed pretty normal in the final of the first checkpoints
I genuinely want every loop that actually happens to be stitched together so i can rewatch the anime from the other characters perspectives, either subaru seems absolutely insane or he seems like a god at knowing stuff
@Steven Line I would say from an audience perspective, if we saw only his successful loops without context, he'd very much feel like a mary sue who has random mental breakdowns. Basically Subaru always knows what to do by the final loop and can with obscene confidence handle some top tier adversaries, and survive. Thankfully for us, we know the baggage he goes through, and it's far, far better to see him each season develop from being completely out of his depth to being one of the most competent characters ever.
This is why this whole concept is actually scarier than it looks. Subaru isn't even given a chance to explain himsefl. Even if he wanted to ask for help he couldn't and everyone around him can only see him suffering seemingly for no reason and not understanding it. It's just fricking saddd man. That's why I love this anime.
Yeah, but I think some people with better awareness who know Subaru and his struggles probably understand that something is preventing him from talking his problems out - given that they also seem to think that Subaru has access to information he shouldn't. Feeling the sensations of repeatedly being murdered would certainly do something to a man. Plus, you never know what the limitations of the ability is. Every death would still be filled with the feral instinct that this is the end, and there won't be another one.
I mean, I knew abstractly already, the show doesn't hide whats going on here. But editing it together as a visual narrative rather than very distant scenes really brings it home.
She did in the novel :) The girl accepted the embrace with astonishment. Her breath was so close, and her warmth was so comforting as he buried his nose into her shoulder and hugged her tight. Perplexed, she tried to say something. “Er… Um, Subaru? Umm…” Each word, each syllable, each character, each breath, was a hymn to Subaru. He embraced her firmly, his arms refusing to let go. Nor did the girl stir even an inch, quietly accepting the embrace, making no move to brush him off. The warmth of her body, the heartbeats of life, made him feel that others were alive like nothing else could.
The funniest thing is that you can have this scene happen again. because this is how it looked to them in the first loop after subaru just saw for the first time the village massacred the "canon" final loop (at least regarding the last time subaru goes back to the fruit stand) would be when he out of nowhere grabs rem and starts runnning
What doesn't get enough attention here is the time aspect. For Rem, five seconds have passed. For Subaru, it's been days. Days of experience, and then suffering, that he alone knows about. In certain arcs, this gets magnified where Subaru is trapped in the same loop for weeks. In Arc 2, Subaru spends a month in the mansion before moving forward, but everyone else thinks he's just waking up after being there for a few hours.
the channel probably chose this scene because the contrast is bigger at first we have subaru talking normally at worst being angry at seeing others diss at emilia. but still normal then suddenly out of nowhere he collapses on his knees and starts crying in a catatonic state.
