11:11 that is a "Hadō" Mew (OG trainer id says Hadō), it was a Mew distributed in Japan to people who pre-ordered tickets for the Pokemon Lucario movie (ハドウ (Hadō), means aura, referring to Lucario in the movie).
I also bought a 2nd hand Japanese Firered cartridge once, it had both the aurora and mystic ticket on there along with a Hado Mew, though I'm still not sure wether these were actually obtained at the event back in the day, or hacked in

I hunted for shiny Mew a few years ago. I was insanely lucky and got it in a day. I really couldn’t believe I got it so fast. I wanted to catch it in a dive ball too but was too scared that it would metronome into roar or self destruct so I just masterballed it lol. Either way still a W. Congrats!
nice video i love these 2, i actually hunted mewtwo with 1 system a bit after i got into shiny hunting watching your videos, i wasnt counting the resets but it took me around 2 weeks of resetting it was great when i finally saw it on the screen.
And mew in gen 3 is such a cool one to do since its the only time Mew has had a wild encounter and the island is super cool too , i personally learned how to do the pomeg glitch to activate the event which i think its cool in its own way since you dont really use any actual outside cheats and the game marks it as a fateful encounter too

Grats on both. Never attempted the Mewtwo hunt in FRLG, but I have one from Ultra Moon. However, I did get an R4 and did the Gen 3 Mystery Gift injection tool for Mew and got mine in 1215 runaways

I love the faraway island mew hunt so much. Something I always wanted to do. I got my hands on a way to get it. Mew shined very early on and I couldn’t believe it! It was my most special, favorite shiny hunt in all of Pokémon. A memory I will treasure forever

Also, as much as I love seeing everybody risking a Metronome Roar/Explosion, please consider the 100% fool-proof strat that is: high Def, low Attack, Leftovers, level 60+ Smeargle w/ Imprison, Metronome, Ingrain, and Trick. I can explain this more if anyone is curious 👍
I barely comment but can you please explain? I am shiny hunting all the legendaries in gen 3 and this would help. I lost entei since he roared and the glitch makes him disappear forever
@@avnerohana Imprison is a move that forces the target to never use any of the moves the user knows (Edit: as long as the user remains in battle, as the effect disappears once the user is switched out).
In your case, once you find a shiny roamer you should simply run away and save. Imprison can make catching it a bit easier; you can teach a Smeargle Imprison easily by visiting Artisan's cave with a Pokémon that has learned Imprison (like Vulpix) leveled high enough to outspeed Smeargle. Use Imprison, Smeargle will Sketch Imprison, switch into your own Smeargle and use Sketch or catch the wild Smeargle.
Teaching it Roar is a bit more annoying; you'll need to have a Roar user and your Smeargle in a double battle (e.g. Gabby and Ty). Once you use Roar on an opponent, use Sketch on your Roar user before using a different move.
You'll also need your Smeargle to know Block or Mean Look, and either Spore or a move like False Swipe would also be helpful. That's the Smeargle I would build to catch a roamer, leveled high enough to live through several attacks.

Massive congrats on these two amazing shinies Mike!! I personally wish shiny Mewtwo's tail would have the same color as shiny Mew, it would make so much more sense to me considering all of Mew's "failed clones" have the same color as well (Ditto) and everything else except the color lines up so well with Mew and Mewtwo. Still love how shiny Mewtwo looks on the GC tho!

This is such an awesome video, it's so cool that you found them both. Faraway island mew is one of my bucket list shinies. Super excited to see that GameCube shiny, I just started hunting shadow quilava myself. It's at the beginning of the game when you first get to choose one of the three Jhoto starters, I've done a couple resets but I think I might postpone until after I've beaten the game, that way I can hunt with the master ball and it will be a little bit more consistent

That MewTwo has a "れいせい" nature, which means higher special attack and lower agility.
I found shiny Mewtwo trying to catch a modest one. The sixth one or so shined and it was calm

Hey! Usually from eBay. Some tips:
1. Make sure the listing says “authentic”
2. If you’re only paying $15-$20, the deal is too good to be true. Right now R/S is like $60, fire red leaf green like $90 and emerald $100+
3. On the back of all third Gen games, there’s 4 metallic squares that are on all copies of the game. They’re never there on fake games

Been shiny hunting for years now. I have never attempted to damage a single shiny 'Mon to make it easier to catch. I cant handle 'Mons not being in a normal Pokeball. So I always have an insane amount to just throw until the RNG gives me the catch.
Spent almost 3 hrs (had multiple breaks because of nerves) restoring PP and throwing Pokeballs at a Shiny Mewtwo in Leaf Green once. Good times.

I have a Japanese emerald cart and rnged a blue mew. 5 perfect IVS. It’s in my X&Y right now. Haven’t moved it anymore. I stopped playing Pokémon. :(
If the Virtual Console of Crystal is any indication shiny hunters are gonna have a fun time when they Virtual Console the GBA games on the Switch
You can access the mew event without the use of any cheating devices. I was sad to find out I coudnt trade mew from a liquid crystal (hack) copy to my Leaf Green because mew has a trade lock on it in 3rd gen (to make sure you can only get one from events and not cheating). This led me to discover a video explaining how to get to Mew(tradeable), Lugia, and Ho-Oh using the Pomeg glitch and bad eggs. Essentially you glitch the event guy who gives you Old Sea Map and the Naval Rock pass, so once you delete the bad eggs from your PC your left with just the event Key Items permanently in your bag. It was very easy to do with a little set up required. Highly recommend for anyone who wants Mew in 3rd gen.

Bro I got the shiny Mewtwo by accident cus I didn't want to waste a masterball in SoulSiver, so I kept restarting the game over and over and, it must have been almost 100 tries (i didnt count), when a shiny Mewtwo appeared. Yup, I used the masterball and still have the metwo to this day.
With Mew, do you have to leave the encounter every time and re-enter. Or can you just soft reset?
Due to emeralds broken rng you have to do the run aways. No soft reset hunts work in emerald without some work arounds.
Shiny hunting is broken is Emerald isn't it? Like, it lands on a specific frame from the moment you start the game up instead of always being full odds. So how do you hunt Mew?

I really like Mewtwo and Mew because of the first movie.
I did not like how Mewtwo was treated over the years. It didn't need a mega and it got 2. I don't enjoy it being thrown as a filler character in the latest anime series for a sparing match or whatever treatment he got in the Genesect movie.
Mew got a little better treatment except in that Mirage Pokemon special in the Generation 3 anime where Misty comes back with Oak and they battle some weird digitized Pokemon. I watched it recently and it was kinda lame to be honest.
Speaking of anime, the Pokemon anime finished and now we get some nostalgia ovas with Ash traveling with Misty and Brock. Ash is swapping his team for each episode so you get so see some old favorites from time to time. Latest one had only Snivy and next he will reunite with Lapras whom we didn't see since Orange Islands I think. That is like 600 episodes ago.
After all is done, a completely new Pokemon series with new characters will start for the new generation.
