Former 'Alf' Child Actor and Dog Found Dead in Car: Reports

- A former child actor was reportedly found dead in his car. Benji Gregory played Brian Tanner on "Alf," which ran from 1986 to 1990. The show about a family that takes in an alien was a primetime hit. Gregory's sister reportedly told TMZ that he and his service dog, Hans, were found deceased in his vehicle in a bank parking lot in Arizona. Inside Edition Digital's Mara Montalbano has more.

This is crazy. Just recently showed all the Alf episodes to my kids. They loved it.
I had just started watching it at the beginning of this year kind of by accident. Thought my coworker recommended it but she had said Elf not Alf. I don't even wanna watch it anymore im just gonna get sad D:
It really is weird I’ve been binging Alf for a week. Poor guy.
It’s wild how wonderful it was a lot of the time to watch the series on television, yet such an arduous nightmare for the actors to tape.

A part of me understands. He didnt want to leave his beloved pet alone to an uncertain fate without him. I've been there and had the same thoughts but at the end I decided to stay alive and look after my pets rather than leave them to relatives. They didnt choose for me to have depression.

He will be missed. I remember our family moving to SoCal in ‘95. My brother told me the kid from ALF went to his High School. Rest in peace.
My family and I moved to SoCal in 85 and some months later Richard Ramirez struck less than 10 miles away

He had mental health issues including bi-polar. That's generally not a result of acting.
@billsloan There's no way he was asleep. The dog would gave gone crazy because it was so hot and he was dying as well, je would have woken him up. He must have been knocked out.

I was so very sorry to hear of his death and for his service dog too. He battled mental health issues and depression. Probably couldn't take it anymore. My condolences to his family. Such a sad ending to his short life.
My son told me about this today! He was such a good actor and is one of my earliest childhood memories. We sat down as a family to watch Alf, and my son loved it as well. I'm also bipolar. Very sad news.

"most folks" it was even popular in countries like Sweden & Denmark. Younger generations may not know/remember it as much but its still highly beloved show around the world I would say :)

If it was suicide it's heartbreaking that he felt he had no other choice, if he killed the dog so he wouldn't die alone, that would be selfish and sad. If it was heat and he fell asleep it's a tragedy. I hope the ripple effects for those who knew and loved him calm quickly.

@@motherbird1981When I moved to Florida several years ago I slept in my car in Miami during the summer. From a person who has lived in the Outback of Australia, Saudi Arabia and Africa. It’s was not heatstroke that killed them. Do you have any idea how many people live in there cars.

And Shannon Doherty 😢. This guy is only 3 years older than me and my mom is showing signs in her physical well-being that she might not last that much longer for this earth. Death is everywhere. It’s very ominous. It’s sad that many of the people dying of natural causes, like this Benji guy, really do not deserve to go.

He probably overdosed or intentionally got wasted either to alcohol or pills or something, maybe this was intentional.. it's too bad but, that's what I suspect, maybe he was not able to land into adult roles, it happens to a lot of child actors who don't transition into adult roles, hope his family can find peace

It's so shocking. Poor guy and cute dog too 😢 Rest in peace...I watched ALF as it was a big hit in my young teen days. I was a senior in high school in 89 when Alf was voted to be the favorite show by the kids.

His sister told Entertainment Tonight that he had a sleep disorder that could keep him awake for days and that he most likely fell asleep in his car and died from vehicular heatstroke. Which would make sense since he died in Arizona.
