Hi Robert just curious about the design -- (1) are the propeller counter rotating or spinning in same direction?? (2) how come they don't windmill and what did you do to stop it? (3) did you use two sets of ESC for this twin motor design? And two sets of batteries? What's the power thrust output of the two motors? Can we take off in zero wind? Thanks
Congrats man.... you did it !! Robert Bertson is the only other guy I have seen accomplish this . I was very close to test flight , built two prop pusher counter rotating 48KV motors, 30" props back at my feet , just to much chance for uncontrolled torque. Happy for you. Makes me want to try again.
The gliding was not my point, the yaw effect from one motor out one functioning -scenario. Is the yaw agressive and instant, or is there plenty of time cut the other working motor off? Have you had/tried cases like that?@@robertberndes7878
i like the sound . a friend of mine who lived in santa cruse ca at the time remembered when the pilots put on chain saws . what a din he said . good show everyone . i remember seeing vids on youtube where glider pilots put on weed eater motors on their flying machines . the weed wackers weren't used for continued flight but commuting from thermal to thermal.:)
Ever hear of Soarmaster PP106 it was kinda like a weedeater attached to the keel (stinger) and was very bad when you stalled the wing it would push the glider into a dive into the ground it's better to have the motor close to you or on you
jaw-clenching moment for sure :-p Having the throttle in the mouth like that must be terrible. Is it not possible to have a throttle on the bar somewhere?
Bad idea taking off with those powerlines after takeoff pal. Otherwise, what you are doing is amazing, well done! We were all young once. Luckily due to making the right choices (often by luck), I am now 59 years old, but unfortunately no longer flying. But, that may change
I admire what you are doing as I fly myself guys but PLEASE find a safer place away from HIGH VOLTAGE OVERHEAD CABLES.....................PLEASE. SAFE FLIGHTS!
Those guys got no sense on what they are doing ... 1 - Those are LiPo, pretty prone to catch fire under heavy load/overvoltage/Undervoltage .. whatever ... and got a pack over their shoulders .. not smart, the pack should be under them with the ability to drop it (just an idea). Where they are .. if they catch fire .. they will first hurt the guy then burn the gldier => all go down fast.
Rob that is really something, way ahead of the pack for 2008.

HEY! We all love it! What's the Parts Purchase List?
There is a bit of a list in the description of "Why do girls prefer Hang glider pilots"
That is fantastic thanks!

That sounds like a cool setup
Look out for our latest design in the works: the Hammer-head :)
That's bad ass man.
That is pretty awesome 👏
Any progress with mount system?
This idea is really cool too! Possibly better than mounting just one to the kingpost. Also won't burn the pilot back if some battery catches fire...
The batteries are usually on the chest for quick access and ejection
No, just torch the wing!
Mate I remember those flights at Woodridge back in the day.
Just thinking is it instant death if one of motors malfunction at 20 m height and full throttle? 🤔
We have had motors fail and stop in our research. That's what the "glider" part of hang glider is all about :)

This guys are awesome, they not fly,but they can levitate as well!!!
how much does the propellers weigh?
Bare feet....What a genius !!!
Perfect..
I've thought of doing something similar but having the motors on the stinger.

Hi bro, whats kindbof batteries you used? How durated flight?
And motors? Propellers?
AWESOME!
super cool
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We have improved things substantially. Check out Robs newer designs on the same channel.
I try to stay away from the power cords

wow
hi, want to buy one! could you help me?
Sorry that old model has been superseded with a single king-post mounted motor. Check out our other videos.
@@robertberndes7878 how can i order the king-posted mounted one?
I want one too!!!!
So do I how do we purchase one?
Regards Tony .
2123 CE. Someone watching this video would be laughing calling this very primitive.😂
Oh... no... music...
Hei ai from brasil ....gostei muito da ideia ..quero fazer igual ...
👍
Those high voltage power poles aren't your friends. Hit them.... and it's all over.
It's called fast charging

I heart lie love you sir
Why barefoot?!
Its warm here and the sand is soft
I want one.
🤔👍
Not the cleanest set up but it works!
an electric Whasp Wing ....

Up
If you motorized the hang glider is no longer a hang glider. Is a ultralight.
And?
Actually, it is called an ultralight hang glider, a name that was applied 50 years ago. It is still a weight shift controlled, foot launched aircraft.

We were a bit crazier in 2008. Check out the new models with the batteries under us as for quick release.
Rather not hear that nasty motor noise. No motor for me.
Fair enough :)
Invento genial 🦧🦧
