Cutting your own hair saves you money and time. I started some years ago and now I finally got it to where its perfect. Holding the mirror with one hand is the hardest part. I think I'm going to invest in the selfcut system mirrors just to get that part out of the way. But to anyone out there who reads this, YOU CAN DO IT. Take your time. You can start with holding a mirror like Him. Also, start with the Wahl Color Pros at Walmart or if you have some money you can buy the Sally's Andis Envy combo or Wahl combo with the peanut trimmer.
It feels great when you get it down because anytime I need a haircut all I need is 1 hour and I'm groomed!

This is a good video. The commentary points were very good. Personally I prefer to go one guideline at a time. First guideline after zero open, knock it out. Second guideline after one open, soften the second line with the one close then knock it out with the zero close. With top being two, I found that there was a third guideline between the two on top and the top of the one open. Almost invisible to the naked eye. It takes patience to improvise through it and blend it all out. I once tried running multiple guidelines without knocking them out and I got lost and worse, I was knocking out multiple guidelines with the wrong guard. It was a nightmare. Since that day, it’s one at a time for me. Just finished a trial drop fade and I like what I’ve come up with. I can see what I did wrong too and practice will only make me better. Thanks for such a good video.

  • @Frass420

Salute good cut you most def got the technique for the drop fade....I remember watching your line up vids vids years ago and to see you now drop fading your hair is major.... just like you I refuse to pay someone to do something they learned to do on me; shit with time and patience you can do it to... I’ve been watching 360jeezy’s page on drop fade tutorials (sun can cutt) and it’s been working out good for me I love the fact I can style and cut my own hair (money saver).. salute you for posting the cut of course your gonna receive feedback and my only feedback would be before you use the 0 guard lever closed on the second line use the 1 guard lever closed on the second line to soften it up (it won’t make it disappear just yet) then proceed with the 0 guard closed...now after you hit the line with 0 guard lever closed go no guard lever open on that same line (2nd line) this will give your fade a super clean blended look.... no 1st guide line should be visible after you use the 1 guard closed, 0 guard closed, and no guard lever open.... no disrespect meant bro the cut was clean but it can mos def look super clean.... salute you two times.....

Just take your time and flick out the lines. It's all about wrist motion. As you go through each level use the corners of the clippers to blend the lines by flicking it out. Doing it by yourself takes time but also the lighting has to be right. The stronger the light the better. Also after you shower look at it again and you can touch it up.
