Thanks! Yea same here! He's a super nice guy and always willing to help too! Hahaha yeah that's a good nickname for him! He's quite a smart guy! Thanks for Watching!
Wow that is a awesome find! Unusual model too. I love these big Wisconsin singles and this one has some factory accessories. The 6v generator, starter, and Prestolight timer are all factory options. The timer was standard equipment for battery ignition. If it was a magneto model then that's where the mag would go. One reason I love these engines is because of the access cover on the side. Great for inspection and you could pull and replace the piston if you had to. The D in the model means this engine has Stellite exhaust valve and seat but it looks like there's a regular steel valve in it which is interesting. It's making just under 8 hp at the governed 1800 rpm. Top speed for these engines is 2200 rpm and it makes 8.4 hp at that speed. The "1/2" on the piston means it finished out at half a thousandth over spec at the factory so I would say it's never been rebuilt.
Thanks! Yeah I've been wanting a BIG Wisconsin single for a while, and finding it coupled to this generator and in such amazing shape was definitely a big plus! I figured they were factory options, but wasn't sure if that was the exact way this generator came from the factory if someone had converted it later on or something.... Starting to think it was ordered exactly the way it sits now though based on how few hours are on it... Yeah that cover was definitely quite convenient! Interesting! Thanks for all the info! Thanks for Watching!
FYI, these 6v systems were typically positive ground. It looks like you have it hooked up to negative ground in the video. Have you tried reversing the cables?
Well first off I didn't even realize this would be 6 volt, so I'll have to correct that. Also based on the way the ignition coil is wired I think I have the polarity correct, but I could be wrong, I'll look into it some more at some point soon!
@@colin_5839 nice generator btw, i stand engines at 3000rpm😳. I have a briggs one on my channel that was a slow runner and powered lots of bulbs, rare with the glass fuel pump on.
I'm watching the Wisconsin gen set vid now. When the engine is running, you're speaking, but no way can I hear what you're saying over that noise. I like your videos, not a fan of that Hillbilly music, though.
Interesting! Maybe its something to do with your sound system because I could hear myself speaking when editing the video! Glad you enjoy the videos! Hye it's not for everyone, but there's always the mute button if it really bothers you that much LOL! Thanks for Watching Jerry!
Great job! I have been a big fan of Mike for years - I always refer to him as the "professor" - I always learn something from him!

Thanks Bono! Just wait until you see it in person this summer! :) Thanks for Watching!
Keep changing that oil at the intervals, and that engine will last you a lifetime. Wisconsin Engines are heavy duty and built to last.
Yessir!! They're some of the best! Thanks for Watching!
