Highland Reel was a class horse, not the best the world has ever seen by a long shot but this ride by Seamie has to be one of the best Breeders Cup rides in history. Seamie has to be the most understated and underrated jockey in the world. He’s won loads of Group 1’s and is such a modest guy. Love this race.
Hell of a ride for a change from Seamie. Found spotted them 20 lengths on the last bend after breaking from the gate last and she still only lost by 5, Moore did what he could.
Brilliant ride from Heffernan - the horse was doing very little in front so decided to let him go a long way out and stole another 6 lengths just as the others are looking to position themselves for the finish. Not sure what Ryan Moore was doing sitting about 15 lengths back mind you ...

Highland Reel makes all. Heffernan took advantage of the slow early pace, and also his assumed role of pacemaker to go away from the pack, but instead of pacemaker duties, this was a clever ploy to wrong foot the field and win.

She spanked Highland Reel in record time 2015 Cox Plate 6 lengths (winner King George, runner up Arc, winner Breeders Cup), Gailo Chop by 12.5 lengths (1.5l 2nd to Solow Prix D'Ispahan, 7.5l winner over dual Grp1 winner Ectot) & Arod by 14.5 lengths (0.5l 2nd to Solow in Sussex Stks). This year she thrashed Hartnell 8 lengths (multiple Grp1 winner, IFHA rated the same as Flintshire), Vadamos by 10 lengths (was last start Grp1 winner Prix Du Moulin, 0.5l 2nd Jaques Le Marois) & Lucia Valentina by 12.5 lengths (multiple Grp1 winner, 5l behind A Shin Hikari in Hong Kong Cup). She has a current unbeaten winning streak of 13 races. Included in this streak are 9 Grp1 races and she has won Grp2/Grp1 races from 6f - 11f.
