I am shocked how many wrong things Scholes said. I mean not opinion, just wrong facts, about de Ligt's play time and Dier playing in front of him(the Bayern fans were crying about that stupidity from Tuchel), Scholes isn't even informed correctly about why De Ligt left Juventus, and it's not even ten hag who shortlisted De lIgt, it's Christopher Vivell and Ashworth, about Hojlund, Ivan Tony is full of hot air, and almost at the end of that prime, if we buy him now, he'll ask for big wage and will get too settled and relaxed, unlike a young player who'd want to prove his worth, him under estimating the importance of an actual office existing in the club for the first time since the world moved ahead with backroom staff years ago. I bet it feels like no body even told Scholes about the financial constraint the contracts given by Woodward-Murtough-Arnold have left the club in. Our situation finance and squad wise is worse than when Fergie first arrived, forget about the David Gill era of rich Man United functioning. Look at that slimy Carragher nodding when Scholes was misunderstanding Zirkzee as not a good scorer when he clearly knows Zrikzee is a facilitator central attacker like his own Firmino who will not score a lot but is there to link the attack, slimeball. Come on Scholes, update yourself before you turn into a Souness variant. What's worse, Mckola not even correcting him enough.

Zirkzee is gonna be fire. He’ll bring the best out of our wide forwards… who love to run in behind… and never look to play in their 9 anyways. Just wondering what that means for Bruno. I think he needs to drop back a bit and play an 8… which would help fill our midfield hole. Last season we seemed to be left with a single man in midfield on the counter. It’s time to look at a proper midfield 3, a false 9 and 2 pacy wide forwards… much like Liverpool as you say. We need to sure up and get harder to beat.

Scholes is saying Ten Hag should have been more pragmatic. Mourinho did do that and finished 2nd, but Scholes laid into him for not sticking to United's "values". And that team wasn't any better than what Ten Hag has. Make your mind up Paul.
The irony is, of all the pundits I have ever seen and heard, Mourinho has been the best. His analysis is super deep, engaging. Shows what a brilliant mind he has. These other pundits are just engaging in pub chat at best. Someone like Steve Howson provides much better analysis than these jokers.
Scholes is becoming the Mancunian Souness. He won't ever find anything positive unless he is talking about his mates from his playing days. Not that the others don't do that.
The truth is United's Glazer ownership and running of the club post Fergie, has been one of the greatest sporting failures of any era. Case in point, they didn't buy Maguire when Mourinho wanted him. He would have been a beast in Mou's low block system. But they go ahead and fire him and bought Maguire the next year for 20 million more for Ole, who clearly had a longer term vision of high line front foot play. So when he did start to implement that by switching away from counter attacking strategy, they bring in Cristiano, who will always be a legend and GOAT, but never was a pressing monster which Cavani was and who suited Ole's third season system.
When will pundits like Scholes, fan spitter, Neville, et al provide insights like that?

Compare to what we currently have in the back apart from Martinez, De ligt is a huge upgrade and will give us stability. He is young, tall, well built, skillfull on the ball and will be a stalwart the likes of Van Dijk. Im so glad we finally decided not to be cheap and brought in De Ligt into the team. He is still one of the best centreback in the game currently.
But Scholesey pointed a very important thing. Man Utd always have a very strong striker on their prime hitting 20-30 goals a season. Be it Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Mark Hughes, Berbatov, Cantona, Yorke, Cole, Saha, Solksjaer, Van Persie. Young players such as Rooney, Ronaldo, the class of 92, were brought in to complement with the senior boys who provided leadership to the team. Too much responsibility on a 19 year old like Hoylund. Fella is unproven in Atalanta to pay such a huge sum and expect him to perform immediately. We should have just paid a dirt cheap 15 mil, Serhou Guirassy from Stuttgart at least to provide some cover at the front.
The bloke from the floor mentioned that Man Utd have a bright future with all the young players in the team we have. Why the heck are we talking like Arsenal?? Even though the class of 92 has a lot of youngster, there were still many senior players that provided leadership such as Cantona, Pallister, Keane, Bruce, Dennis Irwin, Kanchelskis, Hughes Poborsky etc..We are lacking of leaders and senior characters that can make a huge difference.
And goalkeeper is a HUGE problem also. I really think its appaling that we sacrificed and replace De Gea with this joker Onana. True enough he is a modern day goalkeeper, can play ball at the back. But call me old school. Whats the point of having a GK if its not to protect the goal?? A 33 year old De Gea would have prevented more goals than Onana. It certainly feels more save and less jittery when De Gea was around. I would have brought David back for a lower wage to provide challenge to Andre Onana.

Remember when Scholes warned Ferdinand not to be too happy about beating Atalanta before facing Liverpool? Everyone mugged him off but what happened after that?

De ligt is exactly the player we need right now. We also need a defensive midfielder. A left back would be a bonus. Top 4 would be a good season, I'll be honest. Then get some more signings in next summer, and build from there.

The last few years De Ligt has done jobs on both Haaland and Vinicius. And spent time learning from Bonnuci and Chielini at Juve. For the cost as well, he could be bargain of the season. IF he stays fit. Big IF at United.

Scholsey doesnt seem to know Juve were having huge financial issues and sold him for €67m to bayern which was a good business. He suffered injuries which could be a concern but got played lots of matches more than Dier. Bayern fans are upset upamecano is remaining and De Ligt is going out. Plus is wages is also the reason Bayern wants to get rid of him. With Yoro injury and having maguire and lindelof this is a massive upgrade.

WE bought stars in the past and that approach didn't work out either. Players are important but the coaching is even more so so let's wait and see what ETH can get out of these players

I'm kind of in the middle you can't get away from the fact scholes is right not really fancied at juve and Munich so he has a point, but united just could be the club for him I would like to see him in the famous red jersey. Keep upthe tremendous work guys ✌️

Scholes has no clue as a pundit - to say de ligt is a second rate defender is a disgrace. If he is thinks that then maguire must be a fith rate defender

totally agree with scholesy, at first I was happy with the start of the transfer window with Yoro and Zirkzee, but the lack of movement with anything of substance since has been a bit deflating. Right now with the new and current injury list, I don't see any improvement at all.

Scholes should of had the bottle to tell fergie, about centre backs when he had the likes of jones, smalling, o shea, silvestre playing at centre back.
