    Laura - This video is almost 7 years old, but it was SO helpful!!! I watched many RUclips videos trying to figure out how on earth to attach snaps to a quilted jacket, and your instructions were SO clear and easy to follow. Your teaching style addresses all learning modes - visual, auditory and kinesthetic. You are my "go to" when I need to learn any new sewing or quilting method. THANK YOU!!!

    Another great thing about sewing tutorials: they never get old. these kits have been sold for snaps since the 80s for sure. Probably since the 50s.

    Thanks so much! I couldn't find helpful instructions on how to use the Sewology snap tool from Hobby Lobby anywhere, including the package it came in! I've never worked with snaps before and every other tutorial I could find didn't use supplies that looked like mine. After watching this, I successfully put snaps on a crochet sweater for the first time and they look great. Appreciate it 🖤

    thank you so much!! your video was so clear and understandable. its probably the 8th tutorial i have watched on snaps and you finally cleared up my confusion!!
    -I had inherited my moms snap kits and i had 3 or 4 diffferent tools to put snaps on. I had no idea they all use different snap kits and I have several times tried to tackle these and figure out how they worked. I know now I have broken one of them and now don't have the snaps for the pliers. no wonder the pliers never seemed to put the snaps on right. Again thanks so much!
    -20 year seemstress who had never tackled putting snaps on but has decided she hates putting buttons on.

    Thank you so much! I have the same snap fastener you have in your video and didn't know how to operate it. It didn't come with any visuals on the packaging, which would have helped tremendously! I wanted to put snaps on some kitchen towels after watching someone do it on youtube in just five minutes. Well, 25 minutes later I was finally successful, after breaking one snap in the process. At least I was able to figure out which piece belonged where with your video, so thank you Laura!

    Thank you. I was looking to see if i could use a crop a dial for snaps, i guess not. Trying to make a strap to hold masks on without hurting my ears and for my son who has hearing aids and glasses. I bought snaps with a little thing in the kit to put them on with, but the print on the instructions was too small to read! I tried to guess... mangled the setter tool. Then watching you, realized somewhere i have that metal setting tool. It was a pain so i bought the crop a dial. I remember now that i got it for the eyelets for card making. I tried to figure out the snaps using it, but just kept dropping it. Well thank you for a great video. Very helpful!

    This is useful but there is an error in this in the demo using the plier. Initially you show the 4 pieces arranged correctly but when you actually do the demonstration with the dritz pliers (I have this style) you are using the "stud" piece which belongs to the post with the cap piece. The four pieces are cap and socket and post and stud. However, the stud does work with the cap and I hope to use this for a snap at the top of a purse where I want a nice finish on both sides of the purse. I have made the "Trendy Hipster Bag" from the Style and Swing book by Susan Dunlop. Images for this bag can be seen by searching "style and swing." Still haven't had the the nerve to punch the holes but your video is the best.

    I'm trying to make blackout curtains for my bedroom, and I'm trying to think of a way to attach the liner to the front curtain without sewing them together. Do you think the heavy duty snaps along the top of the curtain panel will be able to hold both pieces of fabric together, or do you think the weight of the curtains will pull the snaps out?

    • @SewVeryEasy
      @SewVeryEasy  7 лет назад

      You are right it will depend on the length and weight of the curtains. What is the top of the curtain like?

    • @kohls350
      @kohls350 7 лет назад

      SewVeryEasy they are tab top curtains. there is a two inch border at the top of the curtains with a double layer of fabric, and then the tabs that will slide onto the curtain rods. So I was thinking of putting big snaps underneath each tab, so the tab and snap align, to connect the two layers. The curtains are pretty heavy, but then again, this is my first time working with curtains so I don't know if the weight is normal or not...
