Sometimes when I'm trying to build something, and I can't find a tutorial from you for it and have to watch someone else, i get bummed out lmao
With a little mental arithmetic, these are the materials, that you have to gather, if you want to build this in survival: (Hope I didn't mess up somewhere xD) Fiber: 467 Thatch: 18.700 Wood: 26.416 Stone: 51.845 + 39.912 = 91.757 Metal: 16.821 (33.642 Raw Metal) Crystal: 1.616 Polymer: 105 (210 Obsidian, 210 Cementing Paste) Cementing Paste: 4.779 (+210 for Polymer = 4989; 19.956 Chitin/Keratin; 39.912 Stone) Chitin: 19.956 Element: 4 :D Definitely would raid Giant Beaver Dams for Cementing Paste, and probably use organic Polymer :) Have Fun!

replaced the metal with wood walls and railings, and floors and stairs with stone. I prefer a more rustic look to my buildings, and it turned out great! Thank you for all your work. You have no idea how much it helps those of us who can't design anything more complex than a box building.
After building one of my own i can see just how much effort and planning went into this thing to get it to work. Kudos to you and thank you for sharing.

Built this years ago. loved the design decided to rebuild it in ark ascended without the ocean platform. I`m loving how easy it was to build this time around. Hopefully it makes a comeback for an updated build guide.
Just finished building this on my private server and have retrofitted it as a welcome center/admin store. Everyone who has seen it loves it and i recommend your videos to them when they need ideas on builds. Of course i've tweaked it slightly to suit my needs, but doesnt every build need the builders personal touches to it? Looking forward to seeing more of your builds xx
I built it! I love it I love it I love it! Thanks Aaron! It took me a week and I had so much fun. I tweaked a few things to make it suit my playstyle. I learned so much (like, that I want to kill someone when placing triangular roof tiles, LOL - also, sometimes S Plus plays nice with vanilla - sometimes it doesn't! lol) Thanks again, Aaron! Your builds are the most insane ark builds I've ever seen but I can never replicate them no matter how many times I place things. It's like my game has 2 or 3 more attachment points on every structure and I can never get the right one

Tried building this on Ragnarok, came out beautifully...with a couple alterations for parts I wanted to make use of...and the fact that I somehow ended up one row of ceilings too wide on the base and didn't figure that out until the whole thing was built! (I noticed it when I tried putting the stair down to the catwalk and realized it was too close)

I built this in water that is about 20-30 feet deep, and at the bottom part where the megalodons are, is a fully functional tek vacuum base. I use the top part for a shop/breeding/crafting and the bottom vacuum part as personal base/storage. Loving the build!
Such a great build! I've just recreated it in my modded SP world. Even with mods and increased gather rates I think it was about 8 solid hours. Very fun!!!

I built this over the past couple of days. I love it. I do have a deep hatred of the snapping system in Ark now, though :) For some of the things, like the triangle roof pieces, it seems to consistently show you a different snap point in the game than what it'll actually snap to when you place the roof.
i know this is an older video, i tried this on official its still an amazing build although with harder building on official servers in some areas the unable to hover or use tek suit made it a challenge lol. But most notably at 34:55 when placing the stairs on the thatch walls on the front of the building it wont allow because of obstruction with the other walls. couldnt get the stairs to go through the metal walls. but other then that. awesome build. looks amazing. great work
This build is great. I have few issues with the huge amount of wasted space, but it has inspired me to make a modified version. Think LOD headquarters. Wahahahaha
Thanks for another awesome build! I had such fun building your Rex pen where I modified the living quarters and expanded the back of the building to make a huge base. One of the coolest builds I ever had in my game. I can't wait to see what I can do with this.
I love your tutorials! Your builds always look amazing! Just one critical comment though. Your materials list in the beginning says 204 stone walls. I'm not sure how many walls were actually used. But it was well over 300. I made 225 to begin with, assuming that I'd mess up on a few. But still ran out and had to make about 100 more.
Currently building this now, about 4 hours in and a couple more to go while a friend is building a couple more of Aaron's tutorials, everything on ocean platforms. Thanks for making our base look amazing 🤩
Attempted to build and was using the s+ metal ocean platform. I didn't realize the vanilla version is over 2x's bigger than the s+ version. I hope they fix this!
I am guessing that it is smaller so it can work better on other maps I could be wrong. But good to know this I always use S+ and barely any vanilla stuff so never made the vanilla version. But I guess it would be cool to have a small, medium, and large version on S+ or the platforms + mod.
Fell in love and built it too completion on The Island map. Took fourty-eight hours to get it done but I love it. Was a bit difficult but after three hours finagling I got the stairs to snap in place under the thatch walls under the aviary roof platform!
Another great build, but I have a question. Why do you always flip walls and railings? For example, why does it matter that the railings along the bridge at 8:46 are flipped? I notice it in a lot of your builds. It's not a complaint, it's an observation.
Thank you and that’s a good question you will notice if you flip the railings it makes them look neater if you do not flip the railings hang over the edge
Well was frustrating with a few snap points but that's ark for you lol. Was able to finish this build as an ocean biome base. Thanks man now I just got to decorate it. I'm in love with this thing
Do you get the "Too Far away from platform" message when building? I am not sure why we keep getting that and cannot seem to place more structures after a certain point. With my multiplier for them being at 10.
Anyone else having a hard time with stone rails along the metal walls? I've tried every snap point and they are either very uneven or break the metal wall 99.9% they just break the wall.
Playing on the island, and since you dont unlock metal ocean platform before genesis and i dont wanna cheat it in, i just had to build the platform manually :p Love the build man!
I am having the same issue... I want to place 3 walls down and then a ceiling to match the same deep as the middle of the platform and make a pool for breeding dinos.... annoying. Let me know if you find a way or video that explains that please. Thank you

Started building this on my server I play on. got half way through realized somthing was off by like one sliver of a snap point. start trying to fix.... WHOLE thing... falls apart. RIP. amazzing design but rip all those hours and mats.
Aaron. Im really inspired by ur work. So Im building this ocean platform of urs, only difference is Im using 2 platforms instead of 1. It took hours to place the 2nd platform so the ceiling will butt up together. Ive run into a snag placing the other side in the middle where the house sits. It'll work out sooner or later. Try PVE primitive man. I dunno about nowadays, but people used to still try to nuke each other on the PVE primitive legacy servers via kiting... So it was still dangerous, but you never woke up to a base wipe. Or try Conan Exiles PVE-C where you can fight during certain time periods but your base is safe.
Can’t build something like this in PvP, unfortunately. Play two servers! Then you can take a break from killing people and just enjoy your building for a while. Then go back.
I am a Xbox player who has no friends to play ark with and I would like some could i have some one Xbox name and who don't swear I'm sorta joking but also serious at the same time I would like friends but I doubt anything will happen lol
I love the creativity on display, I love your arrows and simple and easy to follow instructions, this is a great tutorial, the only thing I would ask is for you to specify what corner your are working on when you say to do something in a corner, other than that great job
Normally i don’t like following tutorials to build my bases on ark, or any game for that matter. But this is to amazing of a build for me not to do in Genesis part 1. Thank you

Tame snails (achatina), feed them Sweet Vegetable Cake and they poo Paste. Get 2, and you'll be swimming in paste within a day.
So remind me how you get 33,000 metal?

Your Nan you probably using S+ mod. I recommend not using them when you replicate his build

@Cody Pearsall Snap points make the ceilings too wide or too long. BUT if you play with snap points enough it'll be perfect

I play official 2 days of grinding BTW mine was just wood and stone and a further 3 hours of building for it to be wiped by a tribe with authros

Ceilings won’t snap to the platform for me. Am I supposed to use pillars?

Have you tried using fence foundation to make a new snap point?

Love your content, coming from a tribe that built mainly boxy builds out of practicality to building the nice bases, I love it and do get compliments.

Playing on the island, and since you dont unlock metal ocean platform before genesis and i dont wanna cheat it in, i just had to build the platform manually :p Love the build man!
Have you run into the "This structure is too far away from the platform!" thing? Because I have while trying to do this. How do you fix it?
Put a pillar nearby or foundation. Most times that usually fixes it but makes your build look ugly
Usually you can place down a pillar temporarily and then destroy it after.
I've tried destroying it after and it just destroys everything else I put down
Really depends on what server or cluster you play on if it's not official
I am having the same issue... I want to place 3 walls down and then a ceiling to match the same deep as the middle of the platform and make a pool for breeding dinos.... annoying. Let me know if you find a way or video that explains that please. Thank you

Started building this on my server I play on. got half way through realized somthing was off by like one sliver of a snap point. start trying to fix.... WHOLE thing... falls apart. RIP. amazzing design but rip all those hours and mats.

Aaron. Im really inspired by ur work. So Im building this ocean platform of urs, only difference is Im using 2 platforms instead of 1. It took hours to place the 2nd platform so the ceiling will butt up together. Ive run into a snag placing the other side in the middle where the house sits. It'll work out sooner or later. Try PVE primitive man. I dunno about nowadays, but people used to still try to nuke each other on the PVE primitive legacy servers via kiting...
So it was still dangerous, but you never woke up to a base wipe.
Or try Conan Exiles PVE-C where you can fight during certain time periods but your base is safe.
Yeah that's why I stick to PvE
Can’t build something like this in PvP, unfortunately. Play two servers! Then you can take a break from killing people and just enjoy your building for a while. Then go back.

I love the creativity on display, I love your arrows and simple and easy to follow instructions, this is a great tutorial, the only thing I would ask is for you to specify what corner your are working on when you say to do something in a corner, other than that great job

Searched for ocean base builds and found this. Love it! Maybe because in building from the ground, but I'm having issues with some walls snapping at wrong heights.

@@AaronLongstaff Some people want you to make videos not in GCM, but I am glad it is the clearest way to see what you are doing and makes the video shorter especially good for builds that have a lot going on.
