You amuse me...you are learning how to start a wood fire...use dry wood and begin with twigs or small dry pieces so you can get burning coals which should help the bigger wood pieces to eventually burn...good luck and I hope your fire-cooked meal turns out delicious and with a smokey flavour to it🙂

In the philippines,most heater i think 40 degree
Fish w/ foil just 10 minutes to be grilled,marinated meat would be 20-25 minutes,n veggies would be 5 minutes.

Close the lid everything you cook in a bbq grill just like an oven inside your house. You are wasting the heat, keeping it open. Potatoes take time to cook.
