Great video, nice to see the fault fixed on the readings well demonstrated . Wonder why the customers nearly always bring car for repair with empty fuel tank lol Regards RICH
MAF readings low, lean misfires, fuel adaptions scream unmetered air or MAF and your ears heard it first. Nice diagnosis & repair and enjoying your videos!
Hi Luis, I bacame your fan already, nice contents. You are the only one in RUclips give such in-depth informations!! I'm a Mercedes technician as well. One feedback to you is videos are too long sometimes! It would be great if you can show the important steps and make it short and sweet!!
renjith mathew Hi Really appreciate your feedback! I will try... it is difficult to please everyone... As I already had comments on other videos, saying exactly the opposite... 🤔😀 Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Nice work on the diagnose. You always have to think out of the box or failure text itself. Wrong data CAN be caused by faulty sensors but they NEEDN't be each and every time. In fact, an air leak of any kind is more often the real issue. Nonetheless, you might have fixed only one part of the issue. The upper hose was dead. Experience with the M271 tells, it will also be the case with the lower hoses and the plastic valve beneath the compressor. It's a pain in the ass to fix these but you always should once the upper hose has gone. Once fixed, you should be fine for several years again.
I dont this guy get the credit he deserves.. thank you very much for the amazing informative Vedios you put lots of love and appreciation all the way from Melbourne-Australia
Auto Sport Hi A smoker tester would be helpful in this situation... I made one myself in the mean time... a video will be coming soon on that... Thank you for watching!
Great video. The Maxisys is a bit lacking with the live data. I had similar codes and had to scope the maf. It was unresponsive so aftermarket from germany fitted. Idle improved but still rough. Called a MB specialist in our capital city and I was told an adaption relearn should be done anytime an airflow issue is resolved. Did the relearn and its like a new car again. Yep those hoses are a pita. :)
Hello, On my C180k, the Compressor air pressure tube that fits into the throttle valve jumped at 5500 rpm because the clamp broke... :/ Unfortunately it caused damage to some part. Engine fails at cold idle and cold throttle. When it warms up it improves, but it continues to fail when I press the accelerator lightly. There is no loss of power at "full power" acceleration. What's your opinion? What could be damaged when the tube came loose? Tks for help me
Thumbs up for the video, very useful information. Just a quick question, I have the same car and I'm getting a C1450 cod Emmission active. Can you shed some light. Thanks
@@christopheparre7904 Yes, P0101 is related to a bad MAF (the MAF, connector or the wiring) almost every time... but there is a chance to be something else, like, air flow sensor isn't telling to the ecu the same thing as the others are - (example) MAF is saying something and the tps and map sensor are saying a different thing. Try to measure it in load and also with a multimeter and clean it (ONLY with MAF Cleaner). Honestly, I don't know what to say if I don't see all values, measure the MAF voltage and so on. PS: if you decide to replace the MAF, DON'T go with cheap ones because they are just a waste of money.
another great diag and repair and well explained . On the maxisys could you read the air flow pid on global OBD instead of vehicle manufacturer specific. just woundering if that was available to you on the maxisys. Thanks Mark
I got same Code p0102 and iddle is unstable, acerelate well, but the issue is on iddle, I cleaned, but the issue persist. So I think I hace to replace it.

Great work! I can't help but wonder how many shops would have just called the MAF resulting in the customer having to cough up for an unnecessary part?
on that engine the partial load vent hose always breaks. you need to remove the compressor and replace it all the way down. the rest of it is rotten as well. next time just spray brake clean around that area first and you will hear the engine surge
dann hienn You haven't watched the entire video...😉 I did not sprayed brake cleaner, but sprayed another flammable stuff... I have replaced the entire hose... You can do it without remove all that... is not easy, but can be done... Thank you for watching!

Hi. Where do you live? I am in west London. I have an iCarsoft i980 and mine throws a 2.8 g/s for the Air Flow Rate for the Mass Air Flow Sensor. I have a 2009 W204 C180 Blueeficiency ( 1.6 kompressor). Many times seems hard to go last 3000 revs and feels sluggish. No errors showed during the fault code read. How did you remove that air filtet housing? I managed just the top. Maybe you can have a look onto mine if you live reasonable distance, I can bring it to you.
Jejejeje, I went through half of your videos to find a reply to where are you based and I found it:D Peterborough is one and half hour away from me. Willing to travel and have it thoroughly checked by you. Meanwhile, maybe you can answer my question, please?
Ok, I have just converted your 10Kg/h into g/s and is very close to my 2.8 g/s (2.777 when converted). I guess theres nothing wrong with MAF sensor? Car has 118k miles ( got it with 93k miles). What I noticed though is the harness that goes into the MAF sensor has only 4 metal female connectors (?) when the MAF sensor itself has 5 metal teeth. Is that normal?
japanluv Hi Only saw all you messages now... 😋 Yes, is normal... the number or pins not matching the contacts on the plug... You might have another issue that not a vaccum leak... Check all the other live data... see if there is anything odd...

Hi. I had to change all my vacuum hoses last week and the valve. The fault of maf are always there.
Are you sure you have not missed anything?
You can obviously have a faulty MAF...

You need to remove the kompressor.
