As a mechanic in a very busy workshop diagnosing and rectifying all makes and models wether it be electrical or mechanical Ive not watched one video that I’ve not took something from it and I’ve been doing it 25 years goes to show you really can never stop learning in this ever demanding and evolving trade …….unless you just wanty fit pads and discs and suspension all day lmao

Great repair. What a terrible design though - surely there are other sensors in the system which already know exactly which position is selected, surely it's unsafe to prevent the engine from being switched off in an emergency. And it looks like that microswitch is held in with a locking washer and almost impossible to remove without breaking that post!

That was the reason I didn't wanted to remove the microswitch, and had to come up with a different solution...
