A "mustache amount" is a great way to measure the quantity of product to use! I would have never thought of using a butter knife wrapped in a microfiber towel to remove the crumbs stuck in the cracks, that's brilliant! Work smarter, not harder!
My mom used the butter knife trick back in the 60s, although she wasn't using a microfiber cloth obviously, and she wasn't cleaning a microwave.😉 She wasn't the best role model, but I did learn a few things from her.👍🏻
I use a silicone splatter cover in the microwave. No mess to clean off. I just give the cover a quick wash as needed. Sooooo much easier than cleaning out the oven!
1) Use a splatter cover every time you use your microwave. A mess prevented is a mess you don't have to labor to clean up later. 2) Microwaves heat food by agitating the food's molecules, especially its liquids. Steam is released each time you cook food in it. That steam transfers residue to the inside of the microwave in the form of whatever small molecules the steam can pick up on its way out of your food. Try doing a quick wipe down of its interior whenever you're done cooking food - you'll be surprised at how much clinging grease ends up in there after even one use.
One spot missed that needs cleaning on a microwave that’s above a stovetop and that’s the top ledge. Found out one day just how gross it can get although I’m sure it depends on how often you fry. I hadn’t thought to clean the wheels under the turntable. That’s one of the great things about RUclips is learning from each other
I do the same thing but use a cloth and completely wet the whole thing with only water. I'm talking almost sopping wet. I don't want a house fire. I microwave the cloth for about 1min. Let the cloth sit in the microwave for about 1 to 2 mins, and let the cloth release steam and help loosen the stuck-on gunk. I carefully unfold the towel and wipe down the entire inside. It works like a charm, and I never need any cleaners.
OMG thank you so much I have tried to clean that microwave and so many different ways that it wouldn't get clean I haven't seen it look that clean since it was given to me as a birthday present . Thank you so much I appreciate it
Beautiful! Thanks for the inspiration. I've really got behind with my kitchen recently, but I'm about to set my microwave off to steam, and while it's doing its thing I can make a start on clearing the sides and washing my dishes! 💪🤓💕
My microwave is a combo convection oven and has a coil on the top that’s difficult to clean. The coil is wavy and stuff gets on the ceiling behind it. Any tips?
Wow, I'm far from being a model housekeeper, but I can't imagine letting my micro get THAT grungy.😖 I use a splatter cover when I am heating food, and I always keep a paper towel, folded in half, on the glass turn table. Mostly I use the paper towel to muffle the sound...the clinking noise of setting a glass container onto the glass turntable annoys the crap outta me! Plus it catches spills. Replace as needed.
My paint is flaking off for a long time now & my microwave is constantly dirty & cannot be cleaned because of that. Vinegar, lemon, soda etc never work. It's yellow and rusty all around.
You can use three. One to wipe the initial softened crud from the walls, one damp one to catch anything missed the first time, and one dry one to, um, dry.
I spent 10 mins cleaning my friend’s microwave that looked like a whole pot of spaghetti sauce exploded in it, dried onto the walls. The next day, it was sauce-splattered again! Nobody would fess up to it. 🤨🤬
That's a pretty dirty microwave. I've never had a microwave where there was stuff settled under the turn tray. I'm glad to see that at least I do exactly the same way of cleaning my microwave and oven. But I add baking soda too.
I love your hacks but that 1c vinegar/1c water was too much for me. I almost passed out from the smell! I added lemon juice all I smell is vinegar, in my clothes, hair, house - haha.

Anything but the metric system 😂

And now that it's clean, no one can use it for the rest of the day. Gotta celebrate the cleanliness for a whole day before it's messy again. 😂😂
😂😂💯💪😅
Buy a bowl cover so when it pops the microwave bowl catches it
@@jaythemachine3845exactly!!!!😂

Unfortunately my family literally take it out before they warm their food 😂
most people do, and you still need to get your MW's inside clean from time to time..
Perfect timing! Cleaning the microwave is on my to do list for this weekend 🧽

Went and immediately did this after watching your video. Didn't have lemons, but just water and vinegar worked.
I'm about to do it.
Me too
Can you do a toaster oven? Im wondering about products to use by the heatbulbs inside?
Same

As a great preventative measure, I like to place a paper towel over messy foods before I heat it. It saves a lot of clean-up!
One under a bowl or plate helps too
Thanks a lot !!!!
Half cup of vinegar and half cup of water worked for me 😅

Fixing to do this to the breakroom microwave today.
Can you do one on how to clean the wood cabinets above the gas stove? Ours have a sticky greasy film that I cannot remove😩😩
Amazing thumbnail!
Thank you, Brandon; always enjoy your tips and videos. Is this process and all the ingredients and products used stainless steel friendly?
Good idea I’m ready to clean my microwave on my day off I have some stairs that were hard to remove now just need half water and vinegar
WOW wish I knew this sooner thank you
couldnt get top inside of the microwave clean with these methods. Any other ideas for it?
This has definitely inspired me to darn the 20 socks my boyfriend has holes in lol
Would the same method work for an oven?
What power level do you use to heat the water?
Great tip! Does this same method work well on microwaves with stainless steel interior?
Yes it does!
Is the general purpose cleaner food safe? Is there any alternative. Thank you!
I have a question. What do you clean your kitchen cabinets with?
Could you substitute the lemons for like orange peels or something
What a GENIUS idea to steam with this mixture first! Thanks for the awesome tips and professional direction (I need it LOL). LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!! 🤍🤍🤍
My microwave is similar to yours on the outside. The inside is silver/metal look. Can I use the same method of cleaning?
Do you need a 2 towel system for every room you clean?
Thank you for sharing 🙂

Nice job!
So cool
What do you do about stains?
My microwave is 8 years old and looks like new , why I clean my microwave every time I use it !!
Thanks!
Geesh! My microwave has never been that dirty 😮 I do cover everything when heating up.

@@lmack6596 there is no need to be a mean person it's not very nice
Use a tempered glass microwave safe measuring cup and then you don't need oven mitts.
