Between the movie script, the director's name being "Edgar Wrong", and Lucas being like "What kind of idiot would write this?", this was definitely the most META/SELF-AWARE episode so far. Plus, I loved the use of "United States of Whatever". What a throwback.
I appreciate that, thank you! It's not often I actually know the source material, so I hope people have been enjoying the insight. At least with what I can remember haha
My partner and I picked up on the fact Simon Pegg and Nick Frost voiced the two British security guards in this episode. But what surprised me after the fact is that the films in Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy (which Pegg and Frost prominently star in) were actually all directed by Edgar Wright! I didn’t know that before. Cool connection between that trilogy and Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.
While they didn't actually get Edgar Wright to voice Edgar Wrong, it's still interesting to see that Edgar Wright was somehow involved in the production according to Wikipedia.
Yeah! He actually wrote the entire cast an email asking them to be involved in the series when they started writing the screenplays. And also being a producer
@@MikeyVenture out of all the reactions I’ve seen to this show, you’re the one who I’ve enjoyed watching the most by far. The combination of your in-depth analysis of the show’s themes and predictions of the future go so well with being one of the few people who I’ve seen who’s actually read the comics and knows the background of that combined with the movie makes this such a joy to watch. Looking forward to the next episode!
Also, more than even what I said here, seeing your emotional enjoyment of something that you clearly care about is just so dang infectious and elevates the whole experience.
When Young Neil was driving the golf cart I was thinking “Wow, this music sounds like Mario Kart 64.” Then he name dropped Mario Kart and I knew it was intentional. They are killing it with this score.
Me mum's dyed her hair for decades so it can't be too terrible. But then again I'm reasonably certain that she's also grey underneath all that dye so who knows how that affects things.
nostalgia hit me so hard when united states of whatever started playing, having heard that song in well over a decade to add - dying your hair alot isnt too bad as long as you arent bleaching it often
I literally watched the music video five times after watching this episode. The comments on it are great, because it’s a bunch of people seeking it out after watching the episode 😂
Huh. First time watchimg the show I didnt catch the Agent's Avril Lavigne Sk8ter Boi reference. Like your reaction so far. As a fan of the movie and comic I also really liked the direction this show took and the extra perspective it gave.

Huge nostalgia when that song started playing. I was 14 when that song came out, and I instantly recognized it haha
When Lucas said “What kind of idiot would write this?” it cut to Young Neil, the actual person to write the script (kinda)
He wasn't dating Knives. He was dating an actress older than he was who was playing Knives in the screen play.
And Ellen Wong who played Knives in the movie was older than Michael Cera.
@@icaindianenand her being 25 made Knives' line in the movie about Ramona probably being 25 funnier
Your reaction has by far been my favorite so far to this show, Its so nice to see people who actually know the original content!

I just noticed the group of fans outside the studio with shirts that spell "LUCAS EEL"
The next episode is SO fun, super excited to see your reaction to it. I love the song choices too!!

Absolute classic haha
7:12 Wallace _was_ always a big jerk, he was just... suave about it.
No you’re right, but he just seems so different haha
