I'm thinking for a violent offender to get married in prison, the spouse on the outside should have to undergo a psychological evaluation.
For "Heather" to go through all of that to marry this POS, then make that statement about him not being welcome to live with her, is beyond any measure of cognitive reasoning. I can only assume she was made a pariah, for her reckless decisions. Deservedly so.

@@josi4251, because most criminals don’t commit crimes anywhere on a scale close to this. Canada’s justice system, which focuses on rehabilitation as well as punishment and decides parole based on who is a true menace to society and who is not helps to maintain a society with a fraction of the violent crime per capita that the U.S. has and the highest standard of living in the Western Hemisphere.
The U.S. has the harshest criminal justice system in the developed world. Ironically but probably not unrelatedly, it also has the highest rate of violent crime per capita and the highest recidivism rate in the developed world. The U.S. houses criminals, tens of thousands sentenced for decades for non-violent offenses at an expense of $40,000 a year per inmate. (Actually, that dollar amount is at least a decade old, but I’m sticking with it because I know it was an accurate number, and if anything the amount is higher now, not lower.)

And if he has done plenty of different crimes of course he will get reduction for his crime,as he can't be sent to sit too many years in prison, that would not be good for him and for his job and his children and his car and his dog and.. What I've decided to say is, I'm so sorry to the adults who lost their lives. Their last thoughts were complete fear, and the knowledge they couldn't protect their family.
I'm so, so very sorry for what those little girls went through at the hands, deranged thoughts, and actions of this freaking monster.
And I'm so very sorry to the surviving family and friends, who have had to stand up for their loved ones in court time, and time again, because they gave this garbage parole rights.
Why they did not give him death for the horrific things he did to this family, is beyond my comprehension. I can not think who could possibly deserve it more.
Instead, they've allowed him to live the last 40 years in prison, having the tax payers pay his way, feed him and clothe him.
All these years, allowing him, in his sick and depraved little mind, to relive the torture and abuse he reined down on ALL his innocent victims.
Because you know, as well as I do, he is responsible for the murders of many more than these.
There are hundreds of missing indigenous women from that area.
The only reason he didn't confess to those murders, is because the investigators didn't know to ask. I'm sure he would've confessed, if they had asked.
He admitted it wasnt his first time staking people. Put two and two together, for heaven's sake!!
What did he have to lose at that point? He wanted to brag about all he had gotten away with all those years.
The fact he is still there, today, sickens me to my core.
    That's okay though...
There is a special place reserved, in the darkest, most perverted pits of hell, just for him...and those like him.
Enjoy the return to whence you came.
May the victims rest lovingly in the arms of Our Father, and in the hearts of their loved ones. 🌷😔🌷🙏🌷

I think you are very articulate. You have said intelligently, and repectfully what the majority of people think, but do not know how to, or fear to, put into words. Rot in hell, sinner of mankind, is what l would have said. Never underestimate the Man on the Cross. I have my own thoughts on Forgive them Father, for they know not, what they have done. I have often put myself in my thoughts, in the place of Jesus and the first thing, that comes to my head after saying that are...because l never will!
He is telling someone else to forgive them.
It's the because l never will, that we should all be worried about. If Man is brave enough to take the lives of others then, he is surely brave enough to suffer the consequences of his actions. That includes never being forgiven for crucifying others.

Judges/juries in Canada need the option of imposing life without any possibility of parole for monstrous crimes like this. It's horrifying that these families have to keep fighting and reliving this over and over to try to keep this evil piece of shit in prison.

You may think that of what you state, you can bet that the midjority of judges and juries, are probably liberal thinkers and have too much compassion for these types of criminals.

Girl lmaooo there’s a lot more danger and violence happening in cities and towns.

    • @inkyguy

That’s simply not true. Sure incidents have occurred, but there are few places you can go that are risk-free because life is not risk-free. I’ve camped my entire life. I’ve never encountered any crime, let alone a serious crime such as a murder.
You can convince yourself to be afraid of anything. I suspect your rule of never going into the woods is a coping mechanism to help you manage just how dangerously capricious life can be.

Walked across America, solo. No problems at all.
But living in Southern California I was robbed and assaulted so often I had to carry a gun to get my car out of my garage. It’s cities that are dangerous, wherever gangs do business.

I thought our justice system here in the UK was bad enough but having seen so many of the Crime Beat series and convictions of 25 years...well, my heart bleeds for the victims and the family and friends left behind. 25 years is NO JUSTICE at all, especially in this case, 6 murders. I know the monster is still behind bars but the families should not have to go through the parole crap every so often. He should NEVER EVER be allowed out.

His sister-in-law doesn't believe that one man with a gun can shoot six people? "It's impossible"? That's why guns were invented, for one man to "do a big job like this."

True, but I think she was just in shock.
I don't think anyone ever thought to have a gun on them in case a stranger approached.
Who would think that a strange man approaching is going to slaughter your family in order to assault the young girls.
Even in 1982 you would have never thought it was to get the girls.

The young man he ran over and left to bleed to death on the side of the road was a close friend of mine. This information only came out after his murders in the park. The man he ran over was actually only a kid... a teenager. I attended his funeral, and there were so many people there they had to put speakers outside the church because the church couldn't hold everyone! He was a great, much loved teen!

Too many murders and missing people especially First Nation's in B.C, & the Island. Too close to home, my 1st B.F. in Port Alberni in the 70's nephew was Cam McLeod Dad. He and his pal Graduated & went up North for work, and went on a killing spree here and was founded in Manitoba by a First Nation person. My next door neighbor is Lisa Marie Young Aunt & disappeared over 20 years ago in Naniamo. She was once married to Moses Martin, the Grandfather of Chantel Moore who was shot by an R.C.M.P. back East. Too add to this I knew Rose & John Gavin family from Vancouver, her daughter, his sister Lisa Marie was found in a Dumpster Murdered in Vancouver years ago, still unsolved.
