- Special Guests and exclusive interviews with host Jim Masters and award-winning vocalists, entertainers, Nelson Aspen and Allyson Briggs as they share news about an amazing new tribute show to the great Tony Bennett who passed away last July 21 at the age of 96. In 2012, after meeting the legendary crooner a few times around Manhattan, Aspen was invited to Bennett's home overlooking Central Park to do a TV segment on his impressive work as a painter. The two spent several hours together, leaving Aspen forever dazzled by not only the star's talents, but insight, humility and hospitality.
Their show "Tony Bennett: A Tribute" will feature clips from Aspen's time with the artist born Anthony Dominick Benedetto, reflections on Bennett's humanitarian work, career highlights and support of young musicians. And, of course, plenty of songs from The Great American Songbook that Tony Bennett infused with his signature style.
Just as Tony Bennett was famous for his duets with other singing stars, Aspen will be joined by Allyson Briggs, renowned bandleader of Manhattan's hottest jazz band, Fleur Seule. Together, they reimagine some of those musical moments as they have in previous engagements at NYC's Greenroom42 and the Triad Theater.
Aspen promises it will be an intimate way for audiences to remember Bennett's artistry, life and legacy. "Everyone has a story about Tony and his generosity of spirit, whether they ever got the privilege to meet him or not. Now we can all come together and share that."

Veteran cabaret artist, award winning journalist and author Nelson Aspen, who has sold out his unique shows from NYC to Hollywood and from the Sydney Opera House to London's West End and received 3 Broadway World Cabaret Award nominations in 2023, returns to The GreenRoom 42 to honor one of his musical mentors, the great Tony Bennett. "The hardest part of putting this show together," Aspen explains, "was choosing which songs to perform. His catalogue of material is so vast and his performances so instantly recognizable, I wanted to be very discerning about how to best honor this icon." Aspen promises it will be an intimate way for audiences to remember Bennett's artistry, life and legacy. Allyson Briggs
Allyson Briggs has created an eclectic cocktail of high-class music, topped with the glamour of a bygone era. From Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center to the Rainbow Room and Birdland Jazz Club, she has brought her incredible voice to lead Fleur Seule to delight audiences around the world. Fleur Seule is a retro jazz band with 7 languages of repertoire and many classic styles of music, that transports audiences to their favorite musical memories. Fleur Seule has been a powerful force on the live music scene for 10 years, bringing Old Hollywood glamour to a modern-day audience. Allyson’s range is unmatched, and the joy she brings is contagious. What a duo Nelson and Allyson make! This was a great conversation, learning how they have teamed up to honor Tony Bennet. He was truly an icon in the music world and I'm go glad his legacy lives through them. And the book "Dancing Between the Raindrops"....that title just pulled me in. Gotta get it!
