yeah i have android 10 on my main phone but my old phone is samsung ace 2
One of my samsung (4.4.4 KitKat), screen died. The screen needs replacement and one phone curropted itself (jelly bean)
I got Android 7, and even then, a decent amount of apps just don't work on it anymore. The latest version of Twitter doesn't work lol but I had a really old version installed
i've got 7
My beloved childhood tablet still runs 4.4.4, love that little guy.
I never thought games would run as well as they did on that reusable pregnancy test, I mean scan translator

I was thinking medical thermometer, but that works too. 🤣
these pens were actually quite common at my high school (we had a huge foreign exchange program and the chinese kids all had these) they were pretty cool and worked fairly well from what i saw and they were able to use them on tests
the fact that a translator pen is more powerful than the Trimble Yuma is impressive
Well there are like 15 years between those were made....
Imagine telling somone from 1998 that they will be able to play Half Life in 60fps on a translator pen 25 years from now. They would have called you nuts.
And now extrapolate that to the year 2050.
imagine telling someone from 2023 that they will be able to play elden ring in 60 fps on a shoe
“What the heck is a translator pen?”
Skyrim? On /my/ graphing calculator?
Cyberpen 2077
Imagine telling someone in 1994 people playing doom on a pregnancy test
5:06 In Chinese, pinyin spellings have multiple meanings based on tone. So rising, falling, straight, and falling then rising. Xue probably means learn, 学. Zhi is probably meaning a kind of linking word, 之. And You means friend, 友. So this probably better translates to "Learning friend"

"Hey bro, did you just get a new phone?"
"Yes, a chinese translator pen"
I'm actually impressed it has Bluetooth and they don't even advertise it. It's like these things are so common nowadays so who cares
Its probably because Bluetooth is build in to most SOCs.
@@erk_0483You can look up the chip it has and yup, it's built in
The fact you can buy cheap Bluetooth devices brand new like mini speakers for like $1-$3 is pretty nuts these days.
It's built into most SoC's as said, but it also serves another purpose. If you're in China it uses BT Beacon so they know where it's being used and probably know what was said as well. That said, it advertises a BT LE beacon that can be tracked through the country step by step.
as a human, i absolutely love the earpod design. not even joking. they comfy af and stay in my ears.
From the comments about those it seems like you either love them or despise them and nobody is in the middle lol
For real I don’t get how it falls out of your ear, I find these to be the best fit. Ear buds, the squishy stuff those are Terrible. No matter the size.
Those of us that come from the Planet Zagborf love them.
they're the only in-ear earbuds i've used in the last decade because they fit so much better than anything else. most earbuds don't even stay in my ears at all
SAME
reason these headphones look almost identical is because those shells more than likely come from a factory that also supplies the assembly of genuine apple headphones
so they arent really a copy, but a repurposed part
God i love your videos dude. And i LOVE how excited you get about this stuff! Gaming on unlikely devices has always had a certain intrigue to me so i really relate to how hyped you get about each small step 😄
If your mind is blown by the sketchy Chinesium earpods, I'd LOVE to see you take a trip to Shenzen and see the markets, if you haven't seen Scotty at Strange Parts' videos about it them I think you'd love it, I can't wait to go to China again because Shenzen is electronics / computing / project / tooling / weird obscure parts etc HEAVEN
Also I'm both impressed and loving the upload schedule my guy!, so glad I came across your channel :)
Next time use Web Adb and scrypy then you can use home buttons and rotate. Also theres just adb commands you can use to do stuff like button presses on the phone.
Was just going to comment this lol. Scrypy is really good.
@@IsaacIsNotAvailable scrypy does not work on some custom roms and this device probably has a custom rom so it can give errors

I know that
"Xue Zhi You" should be "学之友" which means "friend of learning", showing that it is a learning assistant tool. And it is hilarious that at about 7:51 the Chinese you put on screen actually means gambling rather than gaming.
I see, did I at least get dog ass right?
@@BringusStudios It is right.
This reminds me of when I used ADB to turn an old digital picture frame (Android 5.1!) into a “normal” wall-powered Android tablet. Never managed to get Google Play Services set up, but I did manage to get more use out of it.
I used a button remapper eventually to turn the play/pause button into a home button, remapped a couple other buttons, then just installed Launcher3.
Home button presses can be simulated with ADB for devices that don’t have a hardware or software home button. For me the launcher settings and navbar were missing and I had to delete the original launcher app and try to trigger the pop up for launcher selection with ADB
I basically experienced all the same weird oddities. The ApkInstaller app, lack of *proper* root, no notification area (except on the Lock Screen), no navigation bar, and having no way to really fix these. The ApkInstaller app can dump apk’s though, which is pretty cool
Can you please show the results?

By the looks of the app icon, the touch keyboard that was installed was a Mainland China release of TouchPal that came preset to input Chinese instead of English. I do remember that there's a global version of it available on the Play Store.
Also, your issues with non-working OTG reminded me of the lack of OTG support on Likebook e-readers that used Rockchip RK3368, those being the Mars, Mimas, Muses, Alita, and Ares Note. All of them didn't have USB hosting capabilities. At this point, I won't be surprised if that was a common thing with Rockchip SoCs.
(15:07) Yep, that's another Samsung One UI feature that I find annoying.
Wipeout pure is my favorite PSP game, seeing it on such a goofy device really warms my heart. Wonderful!
A large part of the reason i love your content, is the memes scattered every few moments. Never stop
4:52 The design is very human
Have you tried gaming on Ouya? That paperweight runs android and can _technically_ play a few games
the ouya emulation community was pretty big back in the day
This is quite a big understatement, I'm pretty sure it can run like every PS1 game full speed.
As a low level audiophile who watches DankPods often. I find it very cute that you thought Apple would’ve made a Type-C version of their ear pods when they had to legally make their newest iPhones Type-C compatible because of Europe.
Thank you for the consistency with your amazing videos!
You had me at 2 TF2 references in a row while also managing to genius your way into a BB one as well.

apple started manufacturing usbc earpods a few months back. so they definitely have the molds. also, just look at the connector to check if it has squircle corners or fillets to see if it might be from an apple mold.
Someone ported the full Source Engine to Android, meaning you can run Half Life 2 and Portal on Android, and it works fairly well. I'd love to see you try it out on this thing.
I fucking love the Apple wired headphones, the ONLY earphones that don’t fall out of my ear. All the rubber ones do to varying degrees
Sorry your holes are shaped like a cocoa bean what the hell
So I learned this from people that mod their GameBoy Advance SPs to have USB-C charging ports instead of the old proprietary Nintendo port, but apparently in most cases with USB-C port designs, you can either have: A USB-C port that supports headphone audio(including USB-C headphones and USB-C to 3.5mm converters) and only charges via USB-A chargers, or you can have one that charges through USB-C chargers but doesn't support headphone output, and you can see which one they went with for this particular device instead of putting in a 3.5mm jack.
4:26
Also the letter "L or R" in the fake one is bolder than the OEM.
I know this because i used counterfeit earpods before, and also if there's an inline remote on the fake ones, they'll sound horrible and cheap compared to the OEM that doesn't sound clicky and doesn't feel plastic-y at all when you click it.
Also, that little mesh thing on the side is slightly smaller i think? I might be insane
Small correction: it didn't come pre-rooted, however the people who built the OS forgot to set the build to Release (you can see it says user-debug in the recovery screen), which allows ADB to gain root.
the funny thing is, alot of android based devices like this one come pre rooted (they have to root it in order to do something to it that is required for it to work and then they just don't un-root it), so you could possibly do this with even more devices
13:50 late comment but the "calculator" app is actually an app hider/vault, entering the correct password will show you the apps
Now I’m wondering if you can run Doom on a Fitbit.
You definitely could. I believe they made Flappy Bird for the Xiaomi Mi band 8 as a stock app, so doom will fit in no problem
I ran minecraft on one.

Apple made type c EarPods after iPhone 15 just now, so ironic.
I was so surprised it was on 8.1 instead of 4.4.1, then he called it ancient. Not sure how to feel about that right now.
We'll be getting 14 in August, so it's not that crazy
Me with Android go:
Anything after 5.1.1 is _not_ ancient
3:17 why did he show blu finger and red finger
Finger is originally called Mike Ehrmantraut
Blu Mike and Red Mike
Android 8.1.0 out of the box supports GSI Treble ROMs. Also, I have it saved somewhere. There's an ADB command you can use to get straight t developer options and check for OEM Lock

9:21 this SoC (RK3326) supports OpenGLES 3.2, so you can run Source Engine games on it, like Half Life 2, Portal, Counter Strike Source

At 4:47 , I don't know it it was a joke, but these are actually the only good apple ear accessory i've used, before. I never been a fan of earbuds, but these ultra light wired ones were extremely convenient, and the only ones that didn't randomly slide out of my ears.
