    It's one of my favorites, but I think I prefer Dollywood's, especially for the spectacular mountain views. But Falcon's Fury is a must-ride every visit for it's great views and the unique tilting, which does still give me butterflies. I have noticed that it's not the most powerful drop on my more recent visits.

    I was initially intimidated but I found the tilting seats made it just feel like a Dive Coaster, so I wasn’t frightened when riding.

    My mom filmed me off ride the first time i rode this. The entire time shes having a panic attack and saying shes a horrible mother and scared that im going to die. When the ride tilts, you can tell by her voice shes practically in tears lol.

    I rode the other Skyjump 'Ikaros' at Gröna Lund, and it's my favorite drop tower. While I didn't get any airtime, the sheer experience was incredible, and it still felt like a downward launch.

    I ride specifically for the view. I typically just walk by to go to Kumba. My friend is obsessed with FF, he has more rides than anyone on it for sure. I prefer the sitting up style drop (which you can get on FF on an evacuation drop), but I have not experienced this from the top, only about 50 feet up.

    Ive been trying to get on this for about 4 years and finally this week it was open during one of my visits to BGT. Honestly not as scary as I thought. I typically dont like drop towers but this felt more like the drop on a dive coaster, which I do enjoy.

    As someone who loves all type of thrill rides, I almost always skip drop towers these days because the feeling of not being able to breathe due to the power/intensity of the drop is something that I have ever enjoyed (especially on Intamin's 2nd gen drop towers). Luckily, I found Falcon's Fury's drop to be less intense, but far more fun because of this. It's still feels fast and the unique positioning of the drop makes it 10x better than any drop tower I have forced myself to go on. I wish we had more of these in America!

    • @CanobieCoaster

      I prefer the more intense drop myself, but that makes sense.

    Rode it for the first time Saturday and I love it. Scariest drop tower I ever rode was the Moser’s Rides (Soriani & Moser) Drop of Fear when it traveled with Conklin Shows.

    Unpopular opinion but I think the sound effect sounds kinda cool, like a falcon shrieking as it plummets toward the ground.

  • @Thuggysmurf
    @Thuggysmurf 5 месяцев назад

    What is your theory on why there aren't more of these 90-degree tilt drop towers? Is it reliability? Cost? Popularity? Reading the other comments, opinions of the ride are less favorable than I would have expected. Love this drop tower. The drop itself may not be #1, but the anticipation/terror is.

    • @CanobieCoaster

  • @lavawalker306
    @lavawalker306 2 года назад +1

    Hold on... Didn't the gondola used to rotate on the ascent? I remember that used to be the case in earlier videos of this ride.
    I wonder when and why they stopped doing that

    • @flash31939
      @flash31939 2 года назад

      The gondola never rotated on the ascent. This more than likely would've resulted in too complex of a ride system for what was already a prototype, given how much space the tilting mechanism takes up on the gondola.

    I've done Ikaros at Grona Lund and while being a cool and unique ride I do prefer a gyro drop, the 90 tilt isn't that scary for me bcs you do feel extremely inclosed, it was a good drop tower but not the best, not surz if you have done ikaros already and how it compares

  • @theduh1011
    @theduh1011 2 года назад

    It's honestly my least favorite drop tower in the state, unless you count the kiddie ones in the SeaWorld parks. Tower of Terror is the second best Disney World Ride, the Icon Park one is genuinely far more terrifying with how much higher & faster it is as well as the more free restraints and being kept higher longer. And I love Dr. Doom's Fear-Fall for it's very strong forces. Compared to that, the drop on falcon's fury is neat & the views are great, but facing the ground doesn't usually do much for me so it just feels lackluster

    • @CanobieCoaster

    Does anyone have some advice on how to ride drop towers when you're afraid of heights? With rollercoasters I just started with small rides and went taller and taller but I don't know if the same goes for droptowers?

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  2 года назад +3

      I recommend starting with the shot towers that launch you up since they get you used to the height.

    • @NorthernRidesYaBoi
      @NorthernRidesYaBoi 2 года назад +1

      If possible, you can still go taller and taller sometimes. I started at 30m, then 63m, then 80m and then 95m.
      It's scary every time, and the anticipation is easily the worst part on the first ride of each tower, but building it up still helps it not to be too big a step to take

    • @OklahomaCoasterFan
      @OklahomaCoasterFan 2 года назад +1

      If you're ever at Hersheypark, they have 3 different sized drop towers all together in one spot. You could go from smallest to largest.

    • @khjuggler
      @khjuggler 2 года назад +1

      I would not recommend this ride if you are scared of heights.. a good intermediate drop tower to try though would be Lex Luther Drop of Doom at Universal (or some other “launched” drop tower). It is much smaller and doesn’t slowly lift you up so the anticipation won’t be as bad. Or maybe even something like Tower or Terror at Hollywood Studios. With that you don’t really see the height at all and it is mostly just the drop feeling.
