Hi, Those are out of stock at the moment. We do not have an ETA on them at the moment but you can sign up tp be notified of restock on the product page. SLW: www.lockeduprc.com/22-Iconic-SLW_p_291.html 8L: www.lockeduprc.com/22-Iconic-8L-Heavy_p_528.html
Are these available in the 17mm hex? I keep stripping 12mm plastic rims on a 6 cell slash 4x4, so I am basically looking to make the wheels bulletproof. Plus it appears that 1/8th scale buggy tires are best for people on a budget because even though the buggy tires are bigger, they are cheaper than the 12mm hex type tires? Crazy, any help is appreciated
These are available in 12mm machined hex which we call 8L™, SLW style and coming soon AO8™ style. These are all machined aluminum, which will be far superior to plastic. For a larger 3.8 size wheel, the increased cost of the wheel would offset the cost of tires, not to mention add a significant amount of rotating weight.
I was thinking more along the the lines of 17mm hex, 3.2 rims. This is a little beefier & more bulletproof. Recently I have not had any stripping of my plastic 2.8 rim 12mm hex beadlocks, maybe they are slightly better quality rims than the 2.2's? Maybe it's because I haven't run 6 cell through them yet (only 3 cell on the beadlocks) This week I will try the 2.8's on 6 cell to see if it will strip the rims, if it does, I absolutely will be going to the 17mm 3.2 rims for toughness & looks & price. It seems that everyone who beefs up their Slash 4x4 to 6 cell has to also upgrade to the 17 mm hex 3.2's.
We can't run 3.8's due to wheel turning clearance. Do you have the aluminum rims in 2.8's? They shouldn't strip out at the hubs since they would be aluminum but I really dig the looks (on the outside) of the beefy 17mm nut vs the tiny lugnut on the 12mm. Still undecided but doggone it, those are some nice looking rims you all make!
We do offer some wheels and rings in black but not everything and not always. If you shoot us a note on the site we can try to give you a better timeline on something particular. thanks!
