Building The Awesome Wheels For My YZ250! Part 8

- Опубликовано: 16 ноя 2019
- Today we get back to work on the Two-Stroke Yamaha YZ250 build by working on the wheels. The powder-coated wheels get laced up with brand new spokes, and then the new tires are installed. The wheel set up is more geared towards enduro and off-road riding to match up with the rest of the project. Some of the modifications I made were going with an 18 inch rear wheel with a more grippy rear tire, and I also installed a pair of ultra heavy duty tubes. Partway through the video, I start to talk about where I plan to send the suspension for it to get rebuilt. Things are getting exciting, and each episode, we're getting closer and closer to assembly.

Assembly is getting closer and closer!!
can't wait to see the outcome this bike
Why wouldn't you use a dial indicator on the wheels?? I use a dial in both axis to true up wheels. They have to be good left and right but also concentric around the axle so they're not egg-shaped. Maybe dirt bike wheels aren't that sensitive??
Man your wheels look awesome!! You did an incredible job truing these up!! As for your suspension I wish I could talk you into getting Race Tech Gold valves that way you can stack all of your own shims. I've done this myself and it is easy, the only time consuming part is measuring each shim and putting these in the order that Race Tech provides and if you are not happy, give these guys a call and and they can help you out. I don't work for Race Tech, I'm a weekend warrior and it is fun to dial this stuff in. Can't wait to see the YZ all assembled! :)
Thanks Erik! That’s a good idea as well. I would like to make a video like that at some point- maybe on the next motocross bike I build. Steahly is local to me and they do a great job setting up enduro bikes so that’s why I went that direction.
Nice.
One tip though: don't go over 90 degrees with tire irons. This is how 99% of pinched tubes happen.
primo as mate, looking forward to the final assembly
Very Nice! Beautiful work as always.
Looking amazing can't wait for the cr 250!!!
looks sick !
Looks good! Nice color combination.
Thanks Jim🤘🏼
Love your work bud !
Keep it up 🤙🏾🤙🏾
when you are finished you must make a video of riding the bike . i love your vids keep up the awesome work..............
Really enjoyed the video great content as always.
Sweet video!✅
lookin good capt!
Love that hub color😯
Thank you🤘🏼
Nice job! Those look tough. I’d like to do mine like that.
So awesome bro, love how they look 💙
Thanks Ulises!
I dont know how u dont have more subs, the time and quality u put in to the vids, oh man! Keep up the good work man🔥🥇
Thank you! We’re growing fast🤘🏼
looking good man
At 3.25 and 8.45 the wheels lacing appears irregular . Maybe it’s the angle of the camera playing mind tricks . Rims look good
This it’s great I want to see Throttle Family do this to their kx250f
Wheels came out 👌 don't think id have the patience to lace and true a wheel looks very frustrating fair play man gonna be a sweet bike.
It’s actually not to bad if you have everything from the same company. Lacing up stock hubs to aftermarket rims can sometimes be more of a challenge.
So Cool.
those wheels came out great.
Thank you🤘🏼
You are doing awesome work keep it up you have actually made me want to get into powder coating LOL think I might have found a new job LMFAO
instant like !
Wow
They look perfect on some angles and then others they look off idk figured I'd let you know so you can double check
Pretty sure I had them right but I will double check. Thank you!
Quad Vloggs Iooked like half were correct and other half were different.
@@TheMercurial7 yeah I'm starting to think was just camera angles now
On your forks OEM seal kit last longer than all balls from my experience.
Curious to see how you like that rear tire.
titanium nitrate the stansions on the suspension with blue
Muito bom
Dish soap works way better for changing tires.
Does it matter what order you true them? Like sides first or up and down first?
So you don’t apply like a set standard torque on the spokes at the end? All basically dependant on the balance? I know I’ve just seen race teams using the spoke torque wrenches?
Niiiiice. 👍🏻
So did you use the powder coat to make it look Chrome which color was that you used because I tried to click the link that you put out for the powder coat and they have numerous ones
Why did you decide to have the hubs powder coated rather than Cerakote them yourself?
I just need spoke nipples for my 2010 yz450 do you know where I can get them and are most of them universal?
Are you gonna do a video on the motor from Jeff Walker?
Heck yeah! Probably a couple
what year is the yz?thanks
How did you work out the rim offset to the hub?
That was one of my questions... must not have mattered OR it's just dumb luck on that one
I have a tusk hub on a DID 14x1.60 wheel, I can’t find any damn bearings for it! Help??
Gotta love the tusk brand stuff, I swear by it, most people say its junk but I've had pretty good luck with their products, also got them same wheels but chrome with blue hub, looks gangster as it gets!
I agree. I think people just assume that since the price is low it must be junk. The reality is they are able to lower the price because they sell a lot of it.
Your spoke patterns look un even unless I just cant look at them right idk
so is this a trail or mx bike build
Trail/ desert build
Sodopeee
42nd!!
mate
I hate the fact that You use music and texts from goonsquad ... Your content is much better quality and You should built Your own style ! Outside of that I think You are doing a great job at having a competent, easy to digest, informative, well filmed content that I do enjoy watching myself.
Thanks
Can this car be brought back to Vietnam?
