The meaning of Half-Life is something you're glad you didn't learn at school because you wouldn't use it at all in your adult life unless you're a scientist 💀👍
Considering it called Half-Life, probably because Gordon wasted half of his life. I mean in HL2, we was in static for 20 years, Gordon should be atleast 47 years that time because again, he's 27 in the first game. Just a thought I've been thinking.
Opposing Force also has a military definition. The military definition is usually used for when a special group is tasked to represent an enemy, which usually only happens in training scenarios. I don't think that it has much to do with the Opposing Force name in Half Life, but it could be seen as a reminder that the game is a simulation, and not real life.
Even if it doesnt really fit the game (although by stretching it I could find a link) your definition is still semanticly appropriate so thx for sharing
@@supertuna123 It's more about the general meaning of that english phrase rather than a specific definition: in the game, you play as part of the opposing force (opposing Gordon and the other survivors)
Because if the half-life equation applied perfectly in real life, a radioactive material would become less and less radioactive over time, but never quite stop being radioactive, like how we get closer and closer to getting HL3, but it seems like it'll never quite happen
Yea Im aware of it but the cover is too cool not to include it, and i mean it might be from 2001 but it plays like Doom anyways. Adding SS Cover was an afterthought, and I knew someone would have pointed it out, rightfully so

Quiver can be a verb. Shaking lightly: To Quiver. Schaking heavily: to Quake. As if Quiver were derived from Quake ....
Good observation!
Valve denied this belief, apparently it was based on a book that was popular between the team

What they don't tell us is why Full-Life Consequences is called the way it is.
It's bcs male_07 fills all the plot gaps thus life becomes full
Or Quarter-Life: Halfway to Destruction.

I think he was frozen in age, so he didnt age. Thats why Eli probably said gordon hasnt changed 1 bit in black mesa east.
Your Life Expectancy will cut in-half by playing the game.
Nah, that happens if you play Dota or LoL
@@supertuna123 Well I just make a joke out of it, but I have to agreed with that
It's-a very good name.

Honestly Quiver is a great name, it fits really well with beta half life 2
No, it's a terrible name. It's a tag in 18+ sites.

Half Life is probably called Half Life because Gordon only has half a life left
He is 27 in HL1, 47 in Hl2, but we cant be sure about how much he aged during his 20 years long sleep
@@supertuna123 All the wounds radiation and stress on Gordon probably would shorten his lifespan
intresting
Steven Hawking gaming?
Idk if this is an insult to the gameplay or a reference to Stephen being a Theoretical Physicist
