In my humble opinion as an amateur guitarist for more than 10 years, Thomas Leeb is one of the best in the world. Really. From a neutral point of view. Not being a fanboy here. Whether you like him or not, you can't deny he's one of the best. His style may not be "unique" (alghough just a few play like him), but the mixture between that style and sweet melodies, together with harmony and rhythm makes him a top 10 in my list.
What a legend
Thomas, as always bro, you play, all the pickers jaws drop.... Awesome being friends and thanks to you finger picking is now in my music quiver....
Wow. I need to catch my breath because this song really blew me away. Amazing.
You are the kind of man who will always have fans =)
By far the best cover. Eric is pleased, has a Big Smile .says ..Nicely Done. .
cant even imagine what the tabs or sheet music would look like to this hahaha. thomas you are the man!
U
@piedpiper: sorry, for the late response not my channel here - that one's a Lowden F35c, quilted maple/alpine spruce. Am now playing my own signature model (Lowden O35c, walnut/spruce)
best version on youtube I've seen so far :D
See the Ben Lapps's version and you'll change your favorite version
@@pulkit458 lol 6 years after eh? I had already seen the ben lapps one and actually learned his version, but I do prefer this for being more crisp. Sound quality is pretty garbage in comparison tho.
@@burger1113 Oh, good job. How did you learn it? Did you find tabs or was it only from listening? I'm trying to find tabs for this song but I can't.
@@RafaelB1717 I did everything lol i think I got the Justin King version tab, but it's really similar anyways. I had to download the video and slow it down to hear the notes while seeing which strings he played, too.
@@burger1113 good idea! Do you still have the tabs? If you do, would you mind sending them to be?
Absolutely brilliant - as always!!!
RIP great great great eric
Took hours of practice :-) but always gets a laugh out of the crowd.
whowww very, very cool!!!! - best wishes PAUL
extremly gorgeous !!!!!!
First rate performance... I watched Eric play this a few times.... sadly missed... Great to hear it again.....
@philbphoto He uses a Fishman Rare Earth Blend pickup which is a Magnetic Soundhole pickup with an internal mic and I believe he also uses a K&K Pure Western Mini soundboard pickup too.
awesome
it's good to hear the spirit of Michael Hedges is alive an well .... :-)
Agreed. I've been trying to track down Eric's albums. I've acquired "With These Hands" but his earlier albums seem to only be for sale through UK sites. Since our dollar value sucks majorly, I have to pay a ton of money for just one CD :(. I'll probably never hear Eric's older music.
You are !!!!!!!! one of the guitar men.
The closest I can come to describing this adequately is 'Wow.' Absolutely stunning.
thomas! you are so dope dude.
perfect...
Thanks for the tip. Currently listening to Kaki's "Glow." Please forgive a 3 year old post on youtube... Kaki is more than I'll ever hope to be.
God. Damn.
Yeah, Ben Lapps did it too. I wonder if it's written in the sheet music.
To play "The Perc U Lator" is always an hommage to Eric Roche! He died to early in 2005 and is the creator f this phantastic piece of music.
But to play this is...high educated guitar playing! Thumbs up for Thomas Leeb an Ben Lapps (to name only some of the bests!)
Excellent !!
I notice, like Eric Roche you have more than one lead coming out of your guitar.
Eric has 3. Am I right to presume it's one to the soundhole pup, one to an under saddle pup and another to a piezo mounted inside the body to pick up the percussion stuff?
Sounds superb !!
@thomasleeb you're the besat man ;)
I like it! I still have yet to hear Eric Roche play it though! Chances are, I won't like it since I'm so used to other peoples' interpretations, haha.
Your wish has been granted.
~Shenron
Nice percussionist.
can you tell me where to find the notes ???
secooo!!!
I'm having trouble with the percussion combined with the harmonics, and advise?
original Eric Roche: The Perculator
@spacemanGoldie
Hi
I think it's supposed to be DADGAD.
Cheers..
My error is on the part where you have to hit the body of the guitar and use your right hand to play the note, it's kinda hard for me, I do not have this coordination to do that yet, but I'm almost there, you need to devote enough!
I'm so lucky to have had a background in piano before I learned this style of guitar! My hands were used to working independently! Keep at it :)
I didn't know Eric Roche died!
where can i buy the tabs, please?
September 5th 2005
hi is there any special tuning?
DADGAD
Any*
I gave my ticket away, im gutted
That's going to be hard to hear, since Eric Roche is dead. Throat cancer, we all mourned that day. Eric Roche's version was very good, but in his memory I believe Thomas did it a little better. Keep in mind though, Eric was Thomas' mentor, and as the old adage goes, "if a teacher has done his job, the student will surpass".
I probably would've used fretting strength by accident and knocked myself out cold. . .
that part at 1:00 I can't even imagine how to follow that. his hands are just everywhere....who...what...why?!?
okay, the who and why are obvious but...what the FUUUUCK?
Sounds a lot like Khaki King ripped this fellow off with her version of Michael Hedges' ritual dance. Not a real big fan of Khaki anyway. Mr. Leeb should sue. Impecable sound...
Every song I've ever heard by Kaki King gave me a headache. Horrible stuff. My friend even downloaded her discography. He came to the conclusion that she is just a bad guitarist.
