That's a absolute classic dish for me of my mother who was from Xigi, guichen, Zhongshan. Thanks for showing us this long forgotten dish.

I do remembered my Mother used to make for us all ' lou siew peng onn'. Of course I used to asked around at various chinese restaurants in KL but sadly non could do it anymore. As to ' yean tai chicken' I too have tried be4 at my father in law place in taiping. To bad, the taste did put me off from this dish. Then again this dish had lost its relevance in KL or for the matter most of the Chinese msian's. Another craving I've old dish was the clay pot ' lap. Mei pooh' with dry oysters. Luckily I. Managed to secured this dish at ZK restaurant at Sam Peng Rd, Pudu KL.
Like our blogger had mentioned out loud, this restaurant dishes out their house special dish that are, for all intent and purpose no longer available or unheard of in KL anymore. Been here twice before and each time they didn't disappoint got to relish such old favourite of mine steamed fish meat with tofu. When I tasted it, it brought back Memories of my. Mother. Her home town was near xiao lam, haizhou to be precise. Only less than a handful have the so called double boiled winter melon or the 8 treasure duck.! Privately I would suggest newbies to try them out. Word of caution though do not expect out of this world taste and bring along cash, they do not accept credit or debit cards. Give them a tinkle to be sute and early dish reservation to avoid disappointments.
wow !! all my old school dishes.. not many nowadays. 8 treasure duck reckoned the one at petaling st (Monkey King) technique is far better - no bones at all (this still has the drumstick and wings on). Wah the Cold chicken.. yeah correct it was mustard w/mayo .. apart from this shop Peng Nam also was good - in those days the ladies used to wear hot shorts haha.... old school safety taufoo dish wahh... imagine with some toasted flounder.. and that fermented clam we used to have it with porridge... well done guys bringing back nostalgia p/s: used to work in rawang . locals tell me rawang = man low (slowly retain in canto)... so they were saying the longer u work here and u are sure to stay for good
Fun Fact Rawang town was the 1st township outside Kl that had street light and electricity. Too bad the Gov places more emphasis into southern selangor (incl klia, gov admin center) and neglected northern selangor.
辛苦晒會長同可媛拍攝呢一集。身為吉隆坡廣府人,真係好敬佩李先生這樣堅持繼承祖業。經營古早粵菜餐館而要保持上一輩留下嘅食物品質,真係一啲都唔易。老少平安係我嘅家中長輩每一個星期必煮嘅菜。凍雞呢道菜以前係擺在冷盤中央位置的,幾十年前舉辦婚宴必有嘅菜式之一。

两位兄台小妹妹,吉隆坡邵氏广场既《香港饭店》既怀旧粤菜系至至至好食,個边既头盘《十拼盘》全部系怀旧野包括醉鸡、合抱环珠等,仲有八宝鸭,百花鸡,实在毕生难忘既美味!仲有好多古早劲野如干贝津白、八珍鱼唇羹、元蹄巴巴、拔丝香芋等等。天啊。。。

建议饭店老板更改Google map营业时间,那边写12点开点,我到这边等了30分钟还是没有开店。然后1隔壁卖水果的说老板的营业时间是很佛系的,一般在12点15分到12点45分才开点,要吃全凭运气。
