Stumped on how to switch the petal assignments now I know .just toe up ...I have 2 petals one on short board and one ext .can I asign them without programming with PC
I have the spider 4 How do you save presets or custom tones to one of the channels ? I do it on the amp but it don't actually save even with the pedal when I switch to another channel and back it goes to another channel ? And how do you use the pedal with the FBV software on PC ?

I just baught one today for a spider iv 15 amp and certainly doesnt do much for this amp only the 5 bottom row switches work with it. But im gonna keep it anyway.

I bought the same FBV about 5 years ago, and now I have a little problem with the buttons, they doesn't respond when I click them, I have to do it repeatedly and its really annoying, what do you recommend me to do?
+Christian Velázquez Get a new one, because it's MORE than likely Wear and tear is why it doesn't respond as well anymore.
If you can solder, replacement tactile switches can be purchased from places like FullCompass.com for less than $2 each. Also the entire 13 switch/LED assembly boards for less than $23 (USA, 2017).

It is also compatible with some of the Pod processors that Line 6 manufactured such as the Pod X3 Pro which I have plugged into my Marshall MG100DFX head.
It's always good when you lay your FBV onto uneven patch cords so when you stomp on your pedal and have it tip unevenly and damage all your cords underneath your foot pedal base ??? Not!!!
Ummmm, maybe put the thing on a level surfice? I have to think that would be a good thing. But what do I know. /shrug

since the wah and volume share the same pedal... if it's currently in 'volume' mode and you want to switch to Wah while playing... won't the volume spike to 100% before switching to wah?
Yes indeed. And the button under the pedal is not sensitive by any means. To engage the Wah function I have to put a lot of my weight on the toe of the pedal. Not sure if mine was just wore out from the previous owner or if this is how they were built, but all of the videos including this one lean towards the latter.
I have mine connected to the rackmount Pod X3 Pro.
I realized after posting that this question was over 6 years old, but for anyone looking for the same answer I will just leave it right here
There is rubber on the under side of the foot plate. If you shave it down a little it is easier to engage the switch

If you find a Flextone III and FBV Shortboard, BUY IT! I paid about $325 USD ($450 NZD) for my mint 2008 Flextone III XL and FBV Shortboard in August 2020. Loud as hell and great tone. But for quiet playing its solid state power still brings the tone. My buddy has a JCM Marshall and we both agree mine is better, especially for what I paid. Why? Because he can't play his JCM at night, or ever at levels it was designed for. Even with his big house and full section, he's still a family guy in the burbs with neighbours he likes. And his JCM doesn't even have a headphone jack.
The shortboard is so awesome. I've never been a pedal person (snowboards and bikes ate all my spare money long ago) But the pedal board convenience is fun. And my guitars don't bang into stuff as much because I use my feet. Are the 36 amp mods amazing? I don't know, I've never played a real Supro, Buddah, Plexi, AC30 or Princeton. But the Flextone III makes me sound better than I've ever sounded. Mind, I am a very amateur player even though I play everyday. I also like that it's solid state because it isn't likely to break anytime soon. When it does break I doubt it can be fixed. So then I'll just get a 8ohm amp head and plug it into the nicely cabineted twin Celestion G12s of my Flextone. Perhaps buy some pedals or a Katana with POD? Who knows, whatever works. And lots of stuff works good enough for me.

I can tell you it works with older Line 6 multi effects like the Pod XT, but it's all proprietary, so will only work with Line 6 gear.

What is it with gear wire that they end up finding the biggest idiots to do their demos? The guy doesn't even bother to put on shoes when demoing a foot controller.
It's a pedalboard review. What does shoes have to do with it? You see some of the cats barefoot on other videos. I haven't researched Gear Wire. I didn't even notice that was the channel until you mentioned it. Was searching videos on this specific board when I found this one.

You've never tried a Line 6 then..... Or you'd know they don't. And I use a valve amp by the way.
