- This movie is made from demo recordings of the 2006 World Tournament final between Code7 and EXiT11. This match was probably the biggest match to take place in competitive BF2. Code7 and EXiT11 were crowned as the two best teams in the world at the time when competitive BF2 was at its peak.
Code7 had earlier in the tournament lost to EXiT11 in the upper bracket and as lower bracket finalists they needed to win both maps in order to secure the win.
This match was played on the 1.22 patch, so you'll probably notice that it looks a little bit different than BF2 does today. Most noticeable is the fact that squad jumping was still possible and that meant that anyone could spawn on anyone just like in BC2.
I've tried to make this movie as close to real time as I could without missing any important action, but sometimes the clips overlap a little bit.

Its still alive , public is still there , competitive is still on going :) , we have 8v8 league , 6 teams are competing in it , 4v4 mixes every day , and occasional 5v5 !

Having never played this game I completely understand what's going on. So awesome so see lots of frontline fighting going on and then cut to a quiet shot of someone flanking round the back and everyone spawning in for a route.
You show the game very well. Still great in 2021.

this is the way this game was meant to be played... good old fashioned squad work, bazookas, armor, and shootouts...
it's too bad now all the servers are swamped with over-modded maps dominated by large numbers of moded helis and jet fighters...

No, I don't know much about that. This all happened before I started playing the game, so I wasn't around at the time.

There were 256 teams from the start i think. It spanned over several months.

I remember this game looking more real than real life. But looking back, it looks like a Nintendo 62 game.
Same here, i built a new computer after I played it for about a year, so I could set the graphic settings to 4, super high. It was amazing!

DICE lost it after this game, BF 2142 was pretty bad nothing good since then.

Are you dumb? BF2142 took everything that made BF2 good and made it better. Plus Titan Mode was the best.
+Kenneth Dennis Nothing has the charm as BF2 does anyway. A simple straight forward game. Todays games are too much, with so many perks and things that you can do, you easily get lost. Bunny Jumping and Dolphin Diving FTW =D
bfbc2 was the last real bf game bf3 i just okay i mean i like it.
BF2 still had charm. I loved flying solo-heli and we had great 8vs8 tournaments here in Scandinavia ("Up North"). It was a smooth game and you could have many laughs about how the game handled different happenings.
The game had to develop into something different and more advanced it seemed. I enjoy watching BF3 & 4 tournaments.
What it came down to is a good TEAM PLAY feeling. That is how and why a games survives as long as it does. Simplicity before detailed difficulty.

This is quite bad actually it comes to show how bf2 had good concepts but bad execution there is nade spam all over the place bhopping dolphin dive clay spam uff
Op125_ yeah but no only map design its more about balance and this game has too many exploits in it which make me wonder why is it considered the best bf that thete ever was? Its just ok not perfect
I think the movement is amazing. It's unintentionally a movement shooter with tactical shooter elements. Nothing has come close to being accidental perfection. Squad improved on the tac shooter/realism elements and did well with that, but we lost the dexterity/movement based gameplay from base BF2.
@@zsascsforever4155 It's the best Battlefield in terms of content and sandbox scale, and was pretty symmetrical in its balance. It's aesthetic is probably the best out of any Battlefield. It's command/team systems should have been expanded on instead of completely gutted and abandoned in future games. And it's the last Battlefield game to truly be a canvas for warfare due to it's mod and bot support spawning tons of replayable content.
@@queuedjar4578 yeah teams are for the most part very even but still there are too many game breaking mechanics. There is nade spam, radio spam, claymores that cant be destroyed with a shot and are nearly invisible (i know the engie can defuse them but in the heat of the battle there is oftenly no way to tell where the clay is aiming) and can be placed in massive numbers around the flag resulting in cheap deaths, very limited place for vehicles to go offroading, severely underpowered AA and overpowered jets and helis which results in baserape and poorly placed respawns. I remember one match where my entire team could not move outside the carrier in wake island for 20 min. Why isnt there an option to mute the radio? And also why do i have to hear every single command line of al 32 players in my team? Why cant i just listen to my squad members? Claymores are guaranteed death traps, bhopping and dolphin diving that give you a few frames of inmunity (WHY??!!). And lastly why is it that the hit reg is so bad even in servers with good ping?
@@zsascsforever4155 Casually the game can be pretty fucking insane, so the skill gaps can be enormous when pubbing. That's legitimate. Honestly the only problem I can identify with is the jank hitreg. I'm pretty sure it was intentionally made pretty bad to be somewhat "realistic" and encourage stationary single shot ADS being the meta but it gets bad in questionable situations like using full auto within 10 or so meters being unviable.
