Amazing how so many people can't listen to very clear instructions huh? You Rock !! Thank you for taking the time to explain exactly what the FS-6 does !! We bought one - Cheers from OzTralia
If you buy a female barrel connector and wire it to the 9v leads in the switch you can have remote power. I did this to mine and its powered by a voodoo lab pedal power. The whole unit powers up with the rest of my pedal board. You would think that they would have this incorporated into the unit but dont. Very easy mod to do.

This was the best video I have watched so far. I will be using it with my Alesis SR 18 Drum machine. It has a "Fill" selection on it and I want to be able to add fills and this foot switch looks like I'll be able to do that with, at least I hope so. We'll see. Thank you!!!
Great video. Thanks. I've just been figuring out my FS-7 and it's pretty similar, except you don't need a battery. It comes with a little daisy chain connector that just slaves off the unit you're using. It works without power anyway but it's nice to see a little light shining brightly!
Can I use a cheaper/much smaller footswitch which also has latch/momentary functionality to work with other boss products for eg a dd 200? Or does it have to be a boss giant footswitch?!!
great video. Can you tell me about the switch "polarity" in the FS-6 dual boss?? how to use this option (polarity) I dont now anything about "polarity" I think I m gonna damage my boss pedal. I use rc3 loopstation boss, I use it to change channel of my amp and sometimes to change the mode o f distortion in my turbo distortion boss anda digital delay DD7. Please . .
Hi good clear explanation, however I just bought a Boss pro singer. It came with a ACS Footswitch for the Harmony and for the Looper. The Footswitch has one cable that splits into 2 one end for the Harmony input and one end for the looper input. The problem is the Boss Pro Singer looper will only loop for 40 seconds.. Will this pedal increase the loop time and if so how much..Also can I use this pedal directly with my Pro Singer or do I have to buy a separate looper like a RC 3. Thank you.
I have the Boss FS-6 and a Roland Cube 40x. The Roland amp has Clean, Lead, and Solo channels. Solo is for creating and saving a specific sound and you turn on Solo by depressing the Solo button.. I want to be able to switch in and out of the Solo mode using the footswitch, but all it seems to do is switch between Lead and Clean. If I push the Solo button the footswitch alternates Lead and Clean Solo. And if I release the Solo button the footswitch alternates standard Lead and Clean. On the amp there are 3 footswitch inputs. The right one is labelled TIP:SELECT and RING:SOLO. The manual does not explain what Tip and Ring means. I assume these are different modes and you select them by depressing the footswitch more than once. But this doesn't work. I have tried using a standard 1/4" patchcord and a stereo one. Still no luck. Help??
whoops just solved it. Stereo patch cord has to go from middle input on FS-6 to the Tip:select; Ring: Solo input on the amp. Then the A footpedal operates SOLO on/off while the B pedal operates the Lead/Clean switch. Now I see Tip means the tip of the jack and Ring indicates the 2nd ring on the stereo jack. (The mono jack has only the tip)
I have a couple of the single FS-5U and have used them successfully with my RC3 looper. I was hoping to use these foot switches with my ensoniq dp/4+ but after experimenting I couldn't work out what was going on. I reversed the polarity switches and nothing really changed. The set up was for the left channel to switch on/off effect A, and for the right channel to switch on/off effect B. Outcome was the left channel was scrolling patches and the right channel was switching on/off effect A instead of effect B. What to try next is the issue any advice would be great.
Very well explained, may be issue of "polarity" i didn't quite catch, but probably it's my fault cause English isn't my native language. I hope it's not important option, I mean that polarity. Ofc, I gave "Like" :)
Is the battery required for the switches to function, or is the battery only required for the LED lights to operate? (Will it perform without a battery)
@@kiskadar69 Yes. While it took a bit of thought, I disassembled it and found a spot where I could install a small power port to plug in my power brick to it without the need for batteries.

You need a stereo cable for the input. That would allow you to use A and B together or separate
From your experience, how long does the battery typically last? Or how many hours of playing/plugged in time have you gotten out of the battery?
For the AB center plug you mentioned a TRS cable Now is that a TRS cable at both ends as the one end for the switch and the other end to the amp?
Yes, TRS-TRS cable.
