Namaskaram Subhash , thank you very much for your reply. i will go to your blog. thanks so much for your help in anwswering all my questions. wishing you well being and joy all always.
Dear Subhash, your method is very clear, i am very grateful that you make this video. can you kindly explain what is shambavi mahamudra. thank you so much for your time and help
Hello May, from what I know Shambhavi Mahamudra is a part of the Isha Yoga practices. I am not familiar with them. Shambhavi mudra on the other hand is simply gazing at the third eye location with the eyes open or closed.
Happy New Year Subhash, its so kind of you to reply . Thank you so much for your time and effort, i am grateful for what you are doing. I do have a muscle condition which its very disabling me to do simple task. what kind of pranayama would you reccomend me to do in order to help restore the immune system and the whole body muscle. thanks a lot again for your help. have a good day. i do not find many teachers that reply people comments, its really great of you. have a good day .may
Hi May, I think a good combination of practices like Kapalabhati, bhastrika, bhramari and alternate nostril breathing (nadi shuddhi/anuloma viloma) should help with the immune system. The key is to develop a regular ongoing practice of asana, pranayama and meditation for overall physical and mental health.
@@SubhashMittal namaskaram Subhash, thanks for your quick reply, you are truly dedicated to your work and i am very impressed. thanks so much for your info, i can do most pranayama except for those which i need my hand to cover the nose its little bit difficult for me due to the pain but i will give it a go for sure. are you also teaching kapalbhati and bhastrika on line, i am so new on this as i am Malaysian, really fortunate to have come across your site.what is asana and do you teach any meditation like shoonya meditation. thanks so so much for your help. have a good day
@@maycunningham4506 No, I don't teach any classes online. You may just browse through my youtube channel as well as my blog at yogawithsubhash.com to get instructions on any of the practices. Asanas are the physical yoga postures.
Namastey. I am a practising pranayamas recently . And while practising bandhas, usually in case of neck bandha I lock my chin after Inhalation. And after I unlock it and exhale I couldn't exhale.completely after 2/3 rounds . So it is appropriate technique to breathe natural breathe in between and again continue the bandhas? Will the essence be u harmed yet? Thank you guru in Advance
Please visit my blog here (yogawithsubhash.com/2016/09/27/the-three-bandhas-locks-video/) for more information. As I mentioned in the article, bandhas should not be practiced while pregnant.
have you ever came across the reverse breathing that in any texts? Like there if there's up there's must be a down, the opposite way must do something too
Hello sir, everyday i m doing Isha shambavi mahamudra .when I m doing shambavi last five minutes I m focusing my in-between eye brows and my breath at that time my head and body was shaking by this kriya.this is why?
Hello Kanna, as I am not a practitioner of Isha Shambhavi Mudra, I cannot answer your query. Please consult with the teacher from whom you have learned the practice.
That depends upon your lung capacity. The general guideline is that you should hold the bandhas for a duration that does not impact the quality and depth of the subsequent breath - inhalation or exhalation.
For heart patients, I recommend only those practices that involve long, deep breaths. These include Ujjayi pranayama, Bhramari and Nadi Shuddhi. Avoid kapalabhati and bhastrika etc.
Hello Hari Babu, when the tongue touches the palate and is rolled further back, it is called the Khechari Mudra. Application of this mudra during kapalabhati is an advanced option. If you are comfortable with khechari mudra you can definitely apply it during kapalabhati. Otherwise, the tongue should be relaxed.
I have learned these practices from my yoga teachers and from the original source text, Hatha Yoga pradipika. Every teacher develops a style of yoga based on their interpretation of the ancient yoga texts. I respect all teachers and styles.
@@SubhashMittalWonderful response! I am also an Isha Yoga practitioner and was curious to understand how you learned your practice versus how I learned my own. I’m sorry for this Dungar’s response, they are not reflective of the whole community.
I have no direct experience with cervical dystonia. In my opinion, kapalabhati and alternate nostril breathing should help cleanse the system and improve blood circulation. In addition, you may also practice some gentle asana sequence, avoiding poses that engage the neck too much. Hope that helps. All the best.
The key guideline is "as long as comfortable". It also depends upon what pranayama practice you are doing. For example, in Nadi shuddhi (anuloma viloma) pranayama, the ratio of inhale:exhale should be 1:2. If you incorporate bandhas into the practice, you want to make sure that the duration of the bandhas does not impact the 1:2 ratio.

what happen if you do the locks with reverse breathing? Like inhale belly in and exhale belly out?
That is not a recommended practice according to any of the texts that I am familiar with.

this happens when panchkoshas get aligned.
In mahabandha the locks have to released first and then inhalation or locks have to be released simultaneously with inhalation ?
Release the locks first and immediately start the inhalation.
Thank you Subhash

How long should one aim to hold the locks?
That depends upon your lung capacity. The general guideline is that you should hold the bandhas for a duration that does not impact the quality and depth of the subsequent breath - inhalation or exhalation.

Can Khechari mudra be applied with Shambhavi mudra?
Yes, Premal, Khechari can be applied with Shambhavi mudra. However, I suggest you get guidance from a local, qualified yoga teacher.

how long or how long can we do prana lock ??
The key guideline is "as long as comfortable". It also depends upon what pranayama practice you are doing. If you incorporate bandhas into the practice, you want to make sure that the duration of the bandhas does not impact the 1:2 ratio.
