    I am a Yankees fan and hope Soto goes back there. The winter meetings are on December 8-12. Soto will probably sign around there or shortly after.

    I think no one should meet Soto’s contract expectations. Dan Patrick is right. He’s not THAT good. Cashman should hold a press conference to say no we aren’t doing it. This endless greed and seeking money over championships & competitive rosters is childish…

      @Jukeboxster Месяц назад

      well, Cashman can do that, but if he passes on Soto and he doesn't get the job done, he will be held accountable, and probably fired. The fans are at their wits end with Cashman as it is, passing on Soto would be the final straw

    Mets should sign Trevor Bauer and pass on this BS. Way too much money for Soto. It’s just stupid at this point. We have outfielders. We NEED PITCHING!!!

    The commentator mentions deferrals. While the dodgers did defer money, they still have to put it on the books at the present value. This means it counts against the luxury tax threshold.
    So while they won't pay ohtani most of his money until 10 years later they still have to count it for threshold purposes and they have to put the money in a separate Account starting this next year on an annual basis

    I like Soto, but if the Yankees can sign him, it will handcuff them, they will have no money to fill in all the other holes. His contract will be 600M= and for too many years. For potentially less money they could get Santander for LF, Walker for 1B, Scott for Closer.....and trade for Brandon Donovan for 3B and move Chisholm to 2B.

    I hope Soto and boras squeeze these billionaires for as much as they can. Anyway if he ends up with 700 million over 13 years it's pretty reasonable given expected revenue growth over and above inflation and given the money ohtani got which was 45 million in present value annually.

    whoever sign soto will regret this contract within 2 years. dodger fans don't really want soto. his defense is weak. his demeanor doesn't fit the clubhouse.

    Ohtani rob the Dodgers getting paid for 2 positions but won’t pitch for Dodgers so exactly why are people really pretending like he deserves that contract is laughable in my opinion how He trick a team to psy him for 2 positions n he wasn’t even good enough to be in the rotation lol

    • @DannyD0816
      @DannyD0816 Месяц назад +3

      are you high? Next season he will be in the rotation 100%, and the dodgers knew he wouldn’t pitch 1st season so not sure who he tricked😂

      you are so laughable. where is your proof that ohtani won't pitch? last time i checked WITH FACTS is that he is still hurt so he couldn't pitch.

    • @CoryMcDermott-ev4rc
      @CoryMcDermott-ev4rc Месяц назад +1

      You don’t know what you’re talking about. He most definitely will pitch next season maybe not the start of the season but eventually. He is the best player in baseball and just won a World Series in his first year with the team.
      Dodgers GM outlines team's 2025 expectations. SAN ANTONIO -- The Los Angeles Dodgers aren't counting on Shohei Ohtani to pitch at the start of next season and will wait to see how his rehabilitation progresses following shoulder surgery on his non-throwing arm.
